190k views for a record that came out what 40 years ago....its great and your uncle was part of something amazing. One day their will be a old punk as president....then we will get things done!!!
Great and underappreciated band. George was a great guy! He would occasionally come up and sing a cover of Ace of Spades with my band when he was living in Washington DC.
+TheDogbelly Very cool Dogbelly, You have southern California hard core punk rock blood by default. For the rest of us, it's just in our blood. Tell your dad B.O.S. was AWESOME
Childhood, growing up in the 80's with many hc albums and skating with this cassette playing in the headphones. This still to this day holds in my top 10 for socal hc albums. Fuckin still stomps.
BoS was à great old school HC band. I was 53years old, i love that band... réal was vocals and music. I was old manager INFECTED YOUTH myband we have 2lps and 3tapes in 1988-1989..good.. you are very good...
i saw them in charlotte n.c. at the MILESTONE in the mid to late 1980's and they sounded just like this live. I met the guitarist and the drummer and hung out with them for an hour after the show and it burned in my brain. What a great band.
This freekin' ROCKS my liver!!! I remember listening to these guys in high school (1983-87 or so). This vinyl and about 5 others were in constant rotation (RKL, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion 1982 LP "How Could Hell Be Any Worse", Minor Threat and 2 or 3 others)
"They walk the streets late at night, try to make money so they can survive, sell I ng their bodies for a cheap price , and low chump will suffice" these guys are sick!!!
pure 80's HC from Slow Death! I watched Danny Chuco punch Henry Rollins right in the face! These guys meant business....the pit was insane when these guys played!
Saw them at The Jockey Club in Newport, Ky- thank God for RUclips because for years they were not known and no vinyl was available. They were great Live...and???
Probably haven't heard this since a year after it came out. 30 years. I like it more than ever. Wish I could still bounce off the walls like I used to. Just as well I can't. Y'know, there are doors if you look for them.
Dont worry bro...the youngins will do ut for u. Im approaching 4p and still gwt rowdy...but youll be glad to know a younger generation is really into this shit.
Battalion of Saints definitely deserve much more recognition than they ever received. Like so many phenomenal bands from the early 80’s, it was a scene that didn’t want the attention of mainstream appeal because the masses were blinded by the idiocy of MTV and utterly sucked. I know because I was there. But in my humble opinion, pop/ commercial music has always sucked ass. So, hardcore punk was right up my alley as a kid. Eighties hardcore as well as its scene was legendary and perfect for us outcasts, freaks, non-conformists, etc.
Wickid stoked these cats playing Philly Thursday!!! havent seen em since late 80's/early 90's; been so long I cant recall jajajaja. So psyched to see em
One member really doesn’t constitute as being the Battalion of Saints especially this style of barn burning. Their early years were raging, but after ‘85 not so much.
The best BATTS stuff was on the Meathouse compilation put out in 1982 on Version Sound, the label that did the Charred Remains comp. They do demo versions of Holy Vision and one other tune.Blazing stuff.I videotaped them in '85 but the club owner gave George a bottle of Jack Daniels and he completely fucked up the show.I gave him a copy 10 years later.
I am thinking about a small pressing of Meathouse1,the follow-up cassette to C Remains on Version Sound, the Ohio label that also released the Negative Element 7" in '83.Batt o Sts does their best stuff,Witch World&Holy Vision demos. The Meathouse tape has 38 bands doing 58 tunes so it would probably be a dbl lp.
BOS were amazing...but any recordings of the pre BOS band The Neutrons ever surface? Or other recordings of the standbys, the other pre BOS band besides the 7"?
ramones? all their OG members are dead, sadly. ain't that a bitch? rolling stones, the who, even zeppelin. not all of them are dead, but the fucking ramones are
Saw them at the Milestone,Charlotte NC back in 1985,a month later the guitarist(sp)fell in the shower and died! They fucking rocked the show before hand!
My uncle was in this band. He had two families and we didn't see him much. But he was a good dude, and really good at horseshoe.
Nice. Love this record. I he still around?
Right on dude.

Great and underappreciated band. George was a great guy! He would occasionally come up and sing a cover of Ace of Spades with my band when he was living in Washington DC.
