How to Live and Find Love in the Philippines/How I met My Wife Baby Mae @paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 Relationships in the Philippines/How I met Baby Mae
A very heartwarming story, Paul. My experience has been that whenever I am at point where I least expect anything to happen, from out of nowhere something happens. My first and I separated in 2010. I officially retired in 2006 at the age of 62. My wife was 57 at the time. Our daughter and son were on their own. During this time, I was hinting around to my wife that we should start making plans to do some traveling around the USA and Canada. when she retires at 63. She would just say, "We will see." and left it at that. When the time came finally came, I asked her if she'd thought of any places to travel to. As things turned out she was only interested in going to county, state and national parks in the immediate area or a weekend at the beach. She wanted to stay close our kids who still lived in the area and her horses. With the exception of my four years in the navy, I had lived within a 20 mile radius of where was born. I told her I was itching to travel and see the rest of the USA and even other parts of the world. We both agreed to go our separate ways and wished each other the best. I got one rental house. She got our home plus two rental houses.
My GF is very similar to Mae. She's very caring, generous, and helpful. She's not flashy in any way. God bless these kind hearted girls. They sometimes end up with men who don't deserve them, and suffer so much as a result. I'm glad that you're a stand up guy, and found someone that shares a similar soul. I'm as blessed as you are, and I am grateful to God for it.
I have to admit,I knew my wife was a keeper when even after almost a year LDR she never asked me even for a single peso ,and the province had challenging times during those days...On ourfirst meeting of 10 days she even treated me to a day of siteseeing, rented a cab and driver for a full day meals and all.. It was then I knew she was the one😊
I am the American version of Baby Mae. I work hard, have my own money, not flashy, minimalist, treat my man good, help my family & others, am honest to a T, don't need fancy things, am extremely responsible, on the quiter side, just got a new phone because I had to-it died & wouldn't charge, not a raging feminist, am not clingy or demanding, mind my own business, enjoy cooking, traveling, plants & gardens, etc. ....The men I've dated always seem to think the grass is greener & I decided like Paul to forget dating. It's just not worth it. I just go about my business & live my life. There are good American women who have attributes like Mae yet aren't good enough for a relationship with you here in the States.
Finding your inner Tyler Durden…. “The things you own end up owning you.” This revelation is only afforded to few, and I posit it is the genesis of awakening. Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants. The key now is to keep company only with people who uplift you. Good for you Paul, and good for the many who also have found enlightenment. And to those seeking it, you don’t need to experience disaster to be resurrected, you must simply make a choice for freedom. 🇺🇸☮️🇵🇭
"Be not like the hippicrites do pemraying in the synagogues and on the street corners hoping to be noticed of man, for they have their reward. When you pray, go into your closet and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in Heaven so you will have His reward". The word of our Lord, thanks be to God🙏🏻. My preyers are the same. Paul that was profound what you shared about your wife! Baby Mae is true❤️
Beautiful story Paul. I always respect a woman that makes things last and doesn't replace them until they are completely worn out like I do. I am such a believer in minimalism and the simple life. One of the Thai women I used to hang out with ganged so much of my respect, because she uses an android over an i-phone and saved up and paid cash for her college. I hate debt and she hated debt.
Cool, thanks for sharing this part of your life, Paul. Like baby Mae and yourself even more now...lol...seriously though, thats a great story and am glad you two found each other. Many blessings to you both, Mae and Paul....Jim
HI PAUL , I have watched you for a long time. Your interviews have led me to some wonderful people/vloggers. I think you have a TRUE love story and as others that watch you , hope and pray to be able to have such a wonderful female in our life. YES , I am 1 of your TOP CRAZY PEOPLE , yet RESPECT YOU and MAE May GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS BOTH OF YOU CIAO
Great story. I met my Philippina wife here in California, very fortunate. Another 8-years or so and we'll retire to PH. I found the minimalist path you mentioned a few years back. My wife too, is of very simple tastes and enjoys a relationship with God.
Paul, it doesnt get old. Been with ya since 5k, and i enjoy these repeats, because this is what gives us men hope, and something wonderful to look foward to. Got my first trip under my belt, last month, and Phillipines was everything i thought it could, and would be. Mahalo brothah🤙🏽🎉🙏🏽
Thank you for your video my wife here in the Philippines is a lot like Baby Mae we have been together for going on 5 years now really glad you found the love of your life
Truly great story,, My Janice is just like this and her family also,, they do not ask and do not like to take gifts. great signals. I have to stay in the US to take care of my mother,, but I look forward to moving there when I can,,
I was here in San Antonio, when I met Daisy about 4 yrs ago and we been together ever since. I have two years till my retirement and I plan to move to Kabankalan City, Philippines. I'm going again this year and I Plan to ask her for her hand. It's good to find someone that has the same understanding of what they want in life and willing to go thru with you together. Paul, Like you have said, when you have a certain feeling in your gut that she'll stay thru the tough times and she willing to do that and that's good to know. I'm have a small channel and if it grows, it's going to be because we both did it together. Paul... Love your channel keep up the good work and maybe one day we'll get a change to meet You and Mae. Take Care and bless you both.
Hi Paul, I've been a fan for many years now and an expat living in Bacolod since 2017 with my Filipino husband and 2 kids 😊 My observation from this video is how you went from perfect strangers to becoming intrigued and smitten with Mae... I can see through your camera lens just how much she has stolen your heart... And you really couldn't see life without her any longer... I'd say you have one of the best love stories out there 😊 cheers to you both! God Bless
Thanks for being my primary source of entertainment! Love your stories and your manner. I got married to my soul mate (Filipina) during COVID in a northern province of Cebu. She accepted me as I was, and I did the same. I work as a trucker in the US. I'm 61.5 years old. We built a modest house in her town of Tabagon... recently completed. We haven't yet decided if she's coming here with me a few years or if I'm just going to go there at 62. I'm tired...want to stop working...but my Social security will only be $1660...not sure it's enough.
Hello Paul, The way you started this video out describes the life to a tee! Working to pay for stuff and lord knows I have no desire to date any American women. As a long time follower of your channel I have watched your relationship with Mae grow to what it has become today. I’ve been dreaming of the Philippines for at least eight years now but am getting a lot of pushback from my kids who by the way moved many states away from me years ago. Just getting the old guilt trip about leaving them and the grandkids.
Hey Paul, I’m new to your channel. Just started watching it this morning here in Canada. First of all, just like to see I like your channel you have very good topics and you made me think about life . I’m a 54 year old man single talking with a Filipino from the Philippines since July of last year . Coming down this December after Christmas 4 to 5 weeks first time in the Philippines . Nervous anxious, I can honestly say . Just wanted to say thank you for your Vlogs and hope you make a lot more ! 👍🇨🇦
I've watched your previous video about how you met Baby Mae but I think it's great you made this for all the new people. What always stands out to me is how much admiration and respect you have for your wife (And she has for you), that's the way every marriage should be.
Paul, I have to say that of all the vlogs on your channel over the past 6-7 years that I have enjoyed, I think that this one has touched me the most. I'm a kindred spirit so it's extremely easy to relate, sometimes almost painfully, with your stories. I'm a bit older than you but have come to a similar point in my life where I feel dis-attached from the US & where it's headed. I've been planning for years to retire to S.E. Asia, but something always seems to get in the way. But most of all, I've been alone for many years, too many. Your depiction of Mae touched me deeply, even after watching both of you for so many years already. Beautifully put & almost too good to be true. I truly feel joy for both of you and can only hope that I too, can pull the trigger and find that type of bliss & happiness before I'm too damn old to enjoy it. Bless you both & I still intend to run into you somewhere, someday for a coffee and a story. Peace & continued good health to you both! Love ya!
I love Thai ladies, but my religion is what I believe will see me married to a Filipina if I am so fortunate as to find the super special person that it would take to tie me down again.
Dang your story sounds like mine. I'm 51, been divorced and mostly alone for 13 years. Just bought a flight to Argentina to hang out and open my mind. I haven't traveled much, kinda nervous
Thank you, Paul, for this video, and for sharing your principles. It was a real pleasure to meet you in GZ in Dumaguete this week. Hope to hear this Polish joke next time.😉 Peter
This is a very important and wise lesson, Paul. You probably need to revisit this topic regularly because yours is a success story where many more are horrors.
Hey Paul. Been in Southeast Asia since 2021. I have not met any ladies like Mae. All the ladies I’ve met seem to invent reasons to ask for money. No. None of them were bar girls. Anyway. I’ve set a course to be single the rest of the way. So much less stress and I love the freedom to go and do whatever I want. Take care.
From over here in Santander/Talisay we love you both and so glad you were born. Both y’all make the world a better place with every video you make….so thank you for sharing your love story. Charles and Laurice- Talisay
There are so many guys that have been living for a long time without female affection. These guys become obsessed with the first girl that jumps in bed with them. You will find the best woman when you are not looking for them.
Thanks for sharing the story, Paul. You’re a lucky man. Some of us find that one person in our lives that makes everything come together! Hopefully, when Christine and I get back to Dumaguete, in September, we’ll get the opportunity to meet Mae, this time?
You are truly blessed my friend 🙏🏼 You didn’t just hit a home run, you hit a grand slam brother. I only hope and pray I find the type of woman who has a heart as big as Baby Mae. Should the day come that I have the privilege of meeting you two, I think I will probably give her a hug, before I give you a handshake…lol
I love your stories. This one is up there with the one where her hand shock when signing her name. We all need to hear more of these kind of stories in life.❤
This is awesome, maybe one of my favorite RUclips videos you have done Paul! Being a devout Christian, I’m so glad that there are other people outside America that are still holding fast to traditional beliefs more than the gender equality crap that is over taken America. I’m retired already, maybe I just need to take a leap of faith. 🙏🏼Thank you again for being so transparent and helpful to your common man.
Paul you Truly have a special Gem there in Sweet Baby Mae and that testimonial could have been a Fabulous Valentines card as the Best thing about being in Love is wanting to be the Best Version of yourself for the other person. And we could hear and feel it as everyone says you are just like your videos and it's true. So May you have many Happy years together as Love is the Answer
Baby Mae sounds like a catch. Paul, you got lucky. But not everyone can get lucky. The dating scene is difficult if you're looking for a deeper relationship.
What a great relationship you two have! May you continue to have many more years of the same. Well, just waiting for my plane to Dumaguete. Should be there in a few hours. We're early. Looking forward to more food, hospitality and culture of the Philippines.
THIS is why men are leaving the West in droves. Good luck finding anyone like that in the US. Thank you for sharing, your love comes across loudly. I'm still 10 or so years away from being able to make the move (I'm still thinking Thailand for now) but this is partly my motivation. I want to meet someone to spend my days with, but I am just not attracted to Western women generally. I am attracted by personality and nature, and, being completely non-materialistic, it is incredibly hard, if not impossible, to meet a woman with similar values.
Knowing my Phillipine for four years talking every day she is a loving woman took care of me when we first met last year going back in October for a month a simple woman that works hard at work and at home
This is the second video on your channel that I gave watched/listened to about how you meet your wife. 2 different videos and I never gets old listening to them. I know I have asked this of you before but not since you guys got hitched. If you both could pray for my wife Cecil. I know Im a challenging guy to be married to. She gets frustrated with me a lot. I can use all the prayers I can get also and I will be sure to pray for your guys. Great video Paul. I keep trying to get my wife to let me retire and move to the Philippines but she keeps saying no. She isn't a fan of chismis either and she doesn't like how he mom, sisters and brothers always have their hands out to he asking for money. You guys take care
Dang it, Paul. You made me tear up again. That was beautiful. By the way. I subscribed to Mae's channel to help support it. Has she ever considered being a matchmaker? Asking for a friend.
I'm always so glad the two of you found each other. ❤ Mae and Vi have similar, solid character.
She got our home plus two rental houses.
Yep, I was not interested in finding someone any more and then I met this Filipina halfway around the world when I never looked for her.
He isn't the only one who is envious of what you have done. Gives me hope buddy.
No worry

Hi @mitchellowens6365 Thank you, means a lot to us!

you probably look like the hunch back too!

Always good to hear this story how it all became.. "and that's the rest of the story "
Hi @goodguyswinning8721 Thanks for watching! We're glad you enjoyed our journey.
Paul, I i love how you described May and her great qualities. You have the ideal wife.
Hi @soremekun Thanks for watching and enjoying our story!
There are so many guys that have been living for a long time without female affection. These guys become obsessed with the first girl that jumps in bed with them. You will find the best woman when you are not looking for them.
Paul love the story how you two met, you are a lucky man sir.
Hi @gonetothefareast Thank you, I feel blessed!
You surely struck gold my friend but l don't think Mae did too badly either. Nice video buddy.
Hi @Alan-C Thanks, appreciate it!
Hi @karlenzmann1917 Thanks for your kind words! We're grateful to have each other too.
As long as you're happy together, that's all that matters. Cheers Paul & Mae! 🤠👍🏻🍻🏝️
Hi @blackwoodrichmore4531 Thanks for your support! We're thrilled to be together. 😊
I love your stories. This one is up there with the one where her hand shock when signing her name. We all need to hear more of these kind of stories in life.❤
Hi @Mexicobeanpole Thanks for enjoying our story! Mean a lot to me.
Hi @rayadkins4337 Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! We're grateful for our community's support.
❤
Great story, sounds like you waited for a good one.
I have heard you a number of times telling the story how you met Baby Mae and singing her praises anf I never tire of it, Paul. God bless her🙏💖🙏
Hi @BruceCinader Thanks! Yeah, it was worth the wait!
Lovely mate for sure
Hi @Oldirocks Thanks!
Hi @paulk8444 Thank you, means a lot coming from you!
Baby Mae sounds like a catch. Paul, you got lucky. But not everyone can get lucky. The dating scene is difficult if you're looking for a deeper relationship.
Hi @gemox3225 Thanks! We did have to work hard to make it happen, but it was worth it.
Paul, you are such a good story teller. always enjoyable to hear your hard earned wisdom.
Hi @timhardman4764 Thank you! Means a lot coming from you!
What a great relationship you two have! May you continue to have many more years of the same.
Well, just waiting for my plane to Dumaguete. Should be there in a few hours. We're early.
Looking forward to more food, hospitality and culture of the Philippines.
Hi @89CrazyAl Thanks, means a lot! Wish us luck on this next adventure.
The feeling of impending doom… I know it all too well. 🙂👍🏻
Hi @paulmiller9997 Thank you for your kind words! We're glad to have been a motivation for you. Good luck with your future plans!
Knowing my Phillipine for four years talking every day she is a loving woman took care of me when we first met last year going back in October for a month a simple woman that works hard at work and at home
Philippine - one L, two Ps.
Hi @jon15711 Thanks! We appreciate your prayers for Cecil and our family. Wishing you and your wife all the best.
Dang it, Paul. You made me tear up again. That was beautiful. By the way. I subscribed to Mae's channel to help support it. Has she ever considered being a matchmaker? Asking for a friend.
Thanks so much
What you are talking about is what I call , "my inventory reduction phase of life"!
Hey, how's it going? Great channel and nice video.👍887👈 Have a nice weekend!😊
