Regardless, it’s all about making sacrifices and setting yourself up for future success. While I’m not rich I do well for myself, and I can honestly say that the only area that I have not scored is in finding a good American woman worthy of marrying. 🤷‍♂️

I married a Filipina about 25 years ago in the Philippines. And I am so much in love with her. She is my best friend. Life is a challenge. Never give up. We go to Oriental, Mindoro, at Christmas time to visit the family. They don't know that we are coming out there until we get there. Small town, and a hell of a lot of people. All the people are so happy to see us. We fly back to the U.S. a lot lighter. Be friendly to everyone, they will never forget you.

when a woman likes you she unlocks all her doors and barriers to entry
when she doesn't like you, you are required to do things the man she truly likes didn't have to

That's a scam that's happening by local embassy workers with the cooperation of local doctors to charge and split whatever they can make out of these poor applicants. It is happening in most Western countries ' embassies. We tried to bring my father in law for a short visit and they said he has to go to an ear specialist recommended by Canadian embassy because he's hard of hearing. All fake. After spending lots of money for the pilipino specialist we gave up.

I went through quite the insane run-around with St. Lukes Clinic about the difference between active TB and latent TB regarding both my wife and my stepson. The resolution was that neither of them had active TB, only latent TB (which I believe 90% of the Philippines has), but it took them 18 months of back-and-forth and lots of x-rays and repeated exam fees in order for them to ascertain this. I still get angry thinking about it.
I had two instances of misdiagnosis (both of these were critical issues) while living in the Philippines myself previous to the visa health exam debacle at St. Luke's for my wife and stepson, and believe me, I am now pretty leery of Philippines healthcare.

YES your correct St. Lukes clinic and most hospitals and clinics here in the Philippines are very bad at making mistakes which can cause big problems and even kill you.......I have lived here in the Philippines over 33 years now and wonder why I am still alive from all the bad medical care here. I was told back during the crazy COVID time that I had COVID and I knew I had Pneumonia so the hosp sent me downstairs for XRAY and guess what it was broke. I went to two other hospitals and got the XRAY, and went back to the doctor and when she looked at it she was surprised and said Sir You were right. They wanted to put me in the hospital but I refused and just went home and used a nebulizer and finally got rid of it along with strong Antibiotics. A long story short becareful here with your medical care.

Wow that's an interesting story. My fiance also failed the X ray test in 2016. But he was told that they needed to confirm the X ray test with a sputum culture . That test took about 8 weeks and of course it came back negative. He got his Visa about a month after that. Maybe the rules at St. Lukes have changed.

Like I told before Filipinos who wanted foreigners were from Mindanao Island and a few in the Visayas Island. Why because Mindanao, the undeveloped island has the poorest provinces. Many people didn't have enough education and access to jobs cuz lacked of investment from businesses local and international.

So nice! Congratulations to both of you. As a foreigner married to a Filipina I know how complicated it can get, however we married in my country embassy with no problem at all and shortly after she could come to Europa with the right to live and work. As for now she is working and happy and making more money than me. I would do it again if needed. As this great man did, I did too. I looked for a lady working, with good manners and a decent family. Cheers 🍻

My Filipina wife applied for US citizenship after being married to me for three years, did they change things where his wife could not apply? My wife later went to a Philippine embassy later, and applied to be a dual citizen so she can own property in the Philippines.

There is a shot that they used to give in the province to elementary kids. This shot will always cause them to fail the TB skin test. My wife had the same problem but in her xrays it showed no active TB. Found out about the shot after effects when we turned her shot record in to the doctor in Hawaii.

... Also.... she seems likes seen a lot but is so emotionally good hearted. I feel like I see the pain and the love and the happiness and the short but long hard life in her eyes and her smile and the way she carries herself. I think he is very lucky. She seems to be very lucky with him also. He seems like a very good guy. Both seem very humble. I wish the best future for both of them. ☮🕊☮🙏🛐💟💞

The house story sounds like a good idea. It would be interesting to see what they came up with and how it is going. I wonder how he gets mahogany as it is a controlled item now because it's getting overlogged.

It would have been nice to have seen the house build they are doing.. sounds really interesting! A question never asked was if they would have children.. there's obviously a big age difference, which seems to be common with the old men looking to find brides young enough to be their daughter.. but a young woman typically wants a family, which 'old' men most likely already have back in the US.. so that could be an issue for 50-60 year old men who don't want to start over again raising kids..

Thanks Paul! This topic fits my plan to the tee baring the gf/wife. As well as relating closely w your background/kid issues, I appreciate the diplomatic humor you often display-one thing I want to better myself in by living there and learning from you guys. Soon to retire from engineering, the snow bird idea is my plan as described. Been there twice now (your area) for 3week stints. Culturally fell in love w the place as so many do. So ready for the 50/50 plan.
