It is typical female behavior in the states, I don't blame the guy for being a bit jaded. I understand the clinginess of filipinas too.
It's getting really annoying, really fast at how some of them want you on the phone, video chat, etc non-stop. Leave me the f alone sometimes.

Being in a relationship doesn't mean being up each others asses all the time, Mike. It is no different than a guy that follows a woman around like a puppy dog.
It might be good for codependents, but my family is dead, and nobody ever gave me anything in life. It is great having someone to lean on, but I still need time to myself occasionally.
It is unhealthy to drift into obsession.

@@mikesphilippineretirement If the woman is left with only physical material possessions (depreciating assets) she is virtually penniless. She only has items she can covert to short-term cash. But she has no long-term path forward financially. Worse, unless he helped pay into her social security account, she will be unprotected in a workplace culture that disposes of women after the age of 35 or so. She can’t start over in the competition for the good jobs. So yes, I use the term penniless. That man financially destroyed this woman! That’s why she was so desperate to hang on. What a bullshit move this was. He is giving every foreign male a bad name in the Philippines. Stuff like this spreads. I missed one relationship because the girl I was engaged to was told not to marry a foreigner, because they kill their wives. She got this stuff from her friends who read it in the Philippine newspapers that a foreigner killed his Filipina wife. They ganged on her until she started to believe it, so she left the relationship. This too will get out and make it more difficult for foreigners to find women in the Philippines.

Well I can say after a 23 year marriage that was unhealthy, I had to do what was best for ME. Like George, I’m sure he felt boxed in and didn’t need the female tears and drama, his only way out was to leave. I understand where he is coming from, the only thing that sours me….once in the states he should have sent her a civil email telling her it was over and that she should move on, being kind and civil. Then he can live his life in peace and drama free, him not disclosing where he is in the states was a red flag, he doesn’t want her “hunting” him down. My two cents. 😊

I’ve had to break up. It is hard. When I first meet I look for emotional stability. Thats very important. Also in the basic human rights a person has the right to change their mind. It takes years to know someone. Sometimes people don’t reveal important things until years later. I’ve had experiences like that. “To thine own self be true”. Honesty with oneself is critical and honesty with a partner is critical. If someone honestly tries many times to break up civilly, and it’s too dangerous or emotionally fearing, then possibly just detaching physically is necessary. We have only one life. We have to live our own life. I agree George could have sent an email letting her know his decision and possibly send her some money to help her for a while like Reekay suggests. Great video.

If they have their own place in a lot of cases it is just a bed in a boarding house or very small room, that you wouldn't be comfortable in.
