Really can see you have confidence in it sending it full around corners!! In a foreign car for the first time, its handling and feedback must be superb! Thanks Misha!!! 👍
Great lap. I'm seriously considering buying one now, especially after hearing your thoughts about being so good for the money. I sent you the picture of the 22 my friend bought. He loves it so much. I can get one pretty much with no mark up from the same dealer. Great video as always!
Ya man, I have lowered 3LT with a glass roof and a Hennessey exhaust and its seriously well done. I had a 991.1 turbo before that, and the handling is easily just as good as the 911 and it sounds wild.
Zora Arkus-Duntov is very happy with the existence of the C8. It's the mid-engine Corvette that he always dreamed would exist. Also, the big problem with the C8's power is that it likes to pull timing. The cars will dyno close to the claimed 490hp, but because they can pull up to 15 degrees of timing it can really fall flat on its face when pushed on a track. That has been the big thing I've seen track guys trying to combat.
@@mAthXjAzz he means ignition timing. Earlier ignition timing can result in more power. If the car is pulling 15° of timing you loose a lot of power. This usually happens if something gets to hot, some pressure gets low etc.
Got an LT1 for $65k and to think I was so close to walking away because of a 5k markup.i hate markups but i have no regrets after driving this thing. I wouldn't recommend the car for anyone over 6'5 with a very long torso though

In the Netherlands the entry-level no options C8 starts at 160K and the version in this video starts at 230K. A huge naturaly aspirated engine with high emissions adds a lot of tax here.
Yeah, that's why the C8 just doesn't make sense in Europe. It's a fantastic car, but I (as an American) would never pay that kind of money for a Corvette. The whole appeal of the Corvette is high performance for a small price. If you take the small price aspect out of the equation, it doesn't make as much sense. Still a great car, but hard to justify that pricetag.

Great vid Misha! It’s great watching you drive. Calm, cool, chill… total badazz behind the wheel. Well done 👍 (and kudos to the owner for sharing his ‘vette).
LT1/LT2 oil pressure sensor is at the end of the oiling circuit. Pressure reads low because of that. The engine is a dry sump with several oil pump (savenging/main oil pump and secondary ones). Oil pressure is perfectly fine, this is a variable flow pump driven by a proportional solenoid, which allow change of volume. Less than 120C on a track is really good
Owner has balls of steel being that calm and no anxiety telling someone use their car hard. Maybe because of their army background but u would definitely shit my pants being passenger to a good driver on the ring lol.

If he does cam and a few other things it'll be much more responsive, I'd leave the intake alone though GM did a good design there, it's variable tuning already.
Exactly why the Z06 & ZR1 are going to the DOHC 5.5L LT6 initially developed for the C8R, N/A for the Z06 & twin turbo for the ZR1.
That Corvette impressed me too. Considering that it doesn’t have a crazy amount of power, it seemed to accelerate pretty darn good to me. I thought it sounded decent too and of course with Misha driving, that in itself made a lot of difference.👍👍🇨🇦
Wait for the zr1 lol
Have watched many Misha’s videos and I have to say this is near the top. Great owner (thank you sir for your service), great car and some amazing footage. Driving skill is unbelievable! What a great looking vehicle.
Just imagine what the Z06 will do with better aero, better tires, better breaks, high reviving engine! with fantastic sound and after all you can put the car on comfort mode and you still can enjoy it in a daily driving. Few cars can give you this combination. Really brilliant
Z06 should be in the Taxi fleet.
A couple of turbskis will wake it up.
@@nordic5490 there's a girl over here in the States with a twin turbo C8, she broke some record with it I believe, extremely cute girl too, I believe she was the first C8 with twin turbos as well. Let me try to remember her name..... Emilia Hartford.
Edit: and she's been driving around in the new C8 Z06 I just noticed....she has a press car.... and it sounds ridiculous (in a good way)
Imagine the Zr1
Props to the owner for allowing the tracking, and Misha for driving like a boss under perfect control. 👍👍
What a great track run to watch! I have a 71 454 4 sp. convertible that I am so proud of,but to see the modern Corvette go toe to toe with almost any car in the world makes me so proud!
What a nice lap with a super chill dude. Trusting the car, trusting the driver. I enjoyed everything. Thank you for sharing the words about the process of getting the car, its nice to know :) Drive safe!
I just checked the pricing for the C8 on the German Chevrolet price list. You can get the different trim levels on the 2023 car starting at 2LT. The price, including MWST 19%, for a 3LT is 100.050 €. Still a good deal.
The z06 wont be available, even if so its gonna be a 170k car with tax
not really feasible
Really can see you have confidence in it sending it full around corners!! In a foreign car for the first time, its handling and feedback must be superb!
Thanks Misha!!! 👍
Great lap. I'm seriously considering buying one now, especially after hearing your thoughts about being so good for the money. I sent you the picture of the 22 my friend bought. He loves it so much. I can get one pretty much with no mark up from the same dealer. Great video as always!
You won't regret it!
Ya man, I have lowered 3LT with a glass roof and a Hennessey exhaust and its seriously well done. I had a 991.1 turbo before that, and the handling is easily just as good as the 911 and it sounds wild.
I bought mine for $100k MSRP fully loaded out 2022 coupe, went with basically every option. It’s amazing.
@@tash6638 that's awesome
@@michae8jackson378 you won’t regret it man seriously, I wasn’t a huge corvette guy but this is just a completely different animal
Those rev drops after each gearchange are SO precise and instant (
being driven round here by misha is far up my bucket list, and drive it myself too, but much slower. what a car, what a guy
Best track video of the C8 ever! Makes me want to run to my garage, peel out of my driveway, and drive my 2022 C8 to the Max.
What you mean with "15 degrees of timing"?
@@mAthXjAzz he means ignition timing. Earlier ignition timing can result in more power. If the car is pulling 15° of timing you loose a lot of power. This usually happens if something gets to hot, some pressure gets low etc.
@@machtmonk Thanks mate!
Needs race fuel
Maybe the catalytic converters are getting to hot. It is a known issue, to keep them safe timing is pulled
Probably the best car to come out the last 10 years imo 👌 looks good, fast, not overly expensive compared to other car in that class
Got an LT1 for $65k and to think I was so close to walking away because of a 5k markup.i hate markups but i have no regrets after driving this thing. The car looks and feels like it's worth so much more than what I paid for. One thing I immediately noticed was how well the car just hugs the road at high speeds and it handles so well. I was a little worried as I hadnt sat in one before prior to purchasing and wasn't sure how my 6'5 frame would fit but it's not too bad. I wouldn't recommend the car for anyone over 6'5 with a very long torso though
I was in the same boat...I'm only 5'11 and my head touches the headliner with a helmet.
"Tires are the limiting factor now" I love this guy haha. Great driving!
Yes. It would have benefitted from slicks. But it's street car so is what it is.
Surprise. The USA making a great car.!! Looks like it handles amazing. That red golf thou. That was fun to watch.
The factory test drivers for the Z06 that drove at the Nurburgring bring their personal cars to Grattan Raceway in Michigan. It's a pleasure to see these cars perform on a track! Of course they can't talk about the test sessions on the Nurburgring, but it was cool to meet them. Yes, I actually met the man that was driving the camouflaged Z06 featured in one of your videos! Very cool!
Complimenti, to the owner and to the Corvette folks 👏🏼
Grazi Mario 👍
that golf was flying to be fair 😂
The top down easy lap is absolutely blistering. Some awesome driving here
I like the fuel quantity indicator through this stunt. Almost like odometer but reversed
Fuel pressure indicator, great feature can see how hard pumps are working when he's full throttle
well, they weren't lying when they said this was the best sports car for the money.Imagine how much more wild the z06 model is going to be smh.Great vid misha
all that with top Down too , truly impressive car and driving
spoiling us with two laps, Really cool owner and Misha driving the wheels off this thing. Epic
a guy I know bought one and I'll never forget our drive on a windy mountain road- the car hugged the corners so well it was like riding in a slot car
Great lap! It's awesome to hear the great feedback about the car.
Hurry up a make a video on installing the harnesses on the convertible so these guys will get off my ass about not having the harnesses installed!! BTW, love your parts!
That was mind blowingly for a slow lap the Top up mind blistering I could feel it with both of you 🎉🎉🎉🎉0
all other review told us this model does understeer all the time. But when I see you driving, this mid-ship corvette is really good!
"Chill lap" and he nearly drives the nuts off of it. 👍 Loved seeing this thing get pushed and surprise some Europeans.
Wow! Impressive ride on the world's most impressive course!
Can't wait to see the Z06, its sound and lap times.
Very exciting to hear a real verdict on this C8 chassis at the ring. This goes right along with what I was expecting really glad it is what I hoped it was. I hold Mishas opinions in high regard especially when it comes to vehicle dynamics. Excellent video
Okay absolutely amazing car and very cool owner! Like you said for a base model this is some insane performance. Imagine what it will accomplish with better tyres/brakes! Now I just wonder what the zo6 or zr1 will be able to do. Hope that when the day comes you can test one!
It has the z51 package so it’s not truly base. That package adds a lot to track performance.
9:26 "r the brakes ok?" ; "yeh"
Misha thinking to himself "you ask me this now?" Thank you to the owner for aloowing misha to provide pov. I was excited for this one. I 2 am impressed.
Sure, my timing could have been better 🤣
To be fair, I was curious what he thought of the carbotech pads not really worried about the performance of the system 😁
@@metomwhou I heard "carbotech" at the beginning 😁 I've been using their pads on various cars for years (and now G-Loc 😅since I was introduced to the brand by Danny).
After all the whining about understeer from other testers this was refreshing! Also, this is so much more than a track car, a true GT, top down with real trunk volume.
The "track" alignment makes a big difference in improving front end feel in these cars.
@@RonzarOne Indeed! Was this set up in the track alignment?
@@GadgetyMV Yeah I think early in the video, the owner mentions that his car has a track alignment. It involves shimming around some of the front arms for better camber through the suspension range.
@@RonzarOneThank you. I missed it. Increasing negative camber front and rear, if I remember correctly.
@@RonzarOne is this the same Ron from Hoonigan ?
I haven't watched Misha for maybe a year now (personal business at home) but it's good to come back and see his lap round the 'ring is still a thing of beauty...It's pure dynamic art!!
Just imagine if this was the same price here as in the US ($63,295) - Ferrari would go out of business.
Nah, a lot of the people buying ferarri do not care about performance. They buy it because it is expensive, so it brings status.
@@teabaggins3517 exactly. This would be a council estate supercar if sold over here aimed at R8 owners especially at 63k
@@JD-eo7dr exactly, R8 the V8 version would be the main competitor... If people really cared about cost performance, you would see zero a
Huracans on the street and everyone would go for R8..but it is clearly not happening
You really think people buy Ferrari for 0-60 time or something?
@@teabaggins3517 I believe that. Many of these exotics performance cars you see in vids in Monaco, Miami, and London probably don't go to a track. To me, it looks just like status symbols of who has the most expensive, exotic cars.
You placed it very well at times- inch perfect near curbs and along painted lines. Clearly very confident in the car- a convertible on PS4s!
“Need the ballast?” I appreciate his random reference to the boating world. Funny guy!!
16:40 Lol the owner was so confused as to what that noise was, props to how smooth you were with retrieving the key
I love how he was talking about kids response to the car. I had a bright yellow 80 Corvette some years ago and that was one of the most fun things about the car. To look over and see some kid tugging on daddy's pants and pointing. knowing you are inspiring the next generation. Ive had some other really cool cars but nothing put smiles on faces like that Vette.
Car has a ton of grip, even with the top down (and some resulting upset aerodynamics). Very impressive for a nearly stock car. Also good balance, neutral handling, etc.
I found myself hypnotized watching the fuel range dropping throughout the lap
Can't stop watching this. Amazing and thanks for sharing and letting him drive that beast.
I'm shocked too, and I live in the US!! You proved that the C8 is a track car - we dont have a Nürburgring here in the US
When you say, “ holy hell” a few seconds into the first lap.. game over. Corvette 🙌🏻
Hey, i am the Golf driver from your video.
That Video is really cool. Thanks, ist was fun :-D greetings from Germany
It was very fun indeed! Is it stock on power or?
No no, its not the original Power ;-)
@@maurosantos132 You were hanging it out bro! It was fun watching you!!
We need more details on the mods,,,that thing scoots.
Jesus Christ that red Mk7 GTI held its own for a while😂
Incredible driving. That red GTI was getting on it to
guys did u see that golf R infront of him?? that's a 4 cylinder beast that was just flying there and ahead of this GREAT V8!! wow imagine what kinda power that small can was holding!
He said its about 4O0WHP
Golf gti Clubsport … Not R 🤪🤪🤪
This new Corvette chassis is super balanced and drives amazing I cant wait to see how far they can push it to its limits
Wouldn't It make more sense buying it in Germany and then importing it to the Netherlands?
@@SuperwurstLP You would still need to pay the emission-based tax(BPM) when importing.
@@Gangrieksta you'd be better off buying a mobile home in Europe and using that address 🤣
@@Chimp_Handzee if you think $100k MSRP for a fully loaded C8 is a small price then why not have 4? They’re not cheap cars😂
Great video, the red Golf was on it!
Nice great car and awesome driver. I enjoyed watching you cruise around the track. And no rain!.
The dude with the red golf did well to keep pace with you....till eventually it got too crazy he had to let you pass...😅
Insane and beautiful driving!!!
Thanks for the ride along! My first video watching you, and it was well done - but you had me at the point of driving.
I would love a video of you ranking the best cars you've ever driven
The C8 is underrated, and surprisingly affordable in North America for its performance-level!
That was just fun as hell to watch. Great job guys!
Misha im new to your channel but you my friend are Awsome....what a driver love how you drive and talk about the American Corvette....Biggest bang for the buck my friend
Glad to see even a chill lap on the ring.
Beautiful run! What a car!
Great vid Misha! It’s great watching you drive. Calm, cool, chill… total badazz behind the wheel. Well done 👍 (and kudos to the owner for sharing his ‘vette).
I told Misha the same thing, he's calm and collected and I look like I could be ejected at any second 😂
@@metomwhou Love it. I would put being ‘ejected from a drive with Misha on the ‘ring on my bucket list’! Cheers 🍻
200kPa oil pressure below 6K RPM jeeesus. The madness to improve the fuel economy never ends! Also the engine temp at the end of the lap HOLY MOLY.
109C water and 119 oil? looks ok 🤷♂️
200kPa is it too low?
Perfectly normal values temps after 2 laps 40+ km hard driving.
What a cool dude to let you take his car around the track. I think the C8 is the car that caught everyone off guard.
I saw two old guys sitting in one just like this outside Chick-fil-A yesterday. Crazy to think that same car could do this.
It will be treated like this 20 years from now. When those old guys can no longer drive and there 15 to $20,000 like the c5 is now
Dudes got some balls! Not only is he loaning out his car on a busy track. But they go top down and he sits shotgun.
The fluids actually run hotter in the convertible; it doesn't have quite as much intake as the removable top. That being said, the convertible has plenty lol. Great video!
That was all just loveliness, lovely car/owner/lap and brilliant dashboard
Great content as always Misha, Tom also is a very cool guy . You make the perfect duo, now its your time to lap with Tom on your car. Best wishes to both of you!!!
Maybe so....What do you say Misha?
