I have started several this way. It definitely works well and I have yet to be successful in the winter (always rots). Always successful during from April through summer. I have yet to get fruit; they are at least 4 years old. The plants are gigantic; I got a pup last fall. I have them in a 18" tall raised bed. They look pretty dried out if I leave them in the full sun so I have put shade cloth over them in the summer (they are in a full sun area); even now, the sun is making them look pretty ratty. I have some more started, but wondered if you eventually put the ones you keep in the ground or what size pot would be appropriate to get them to a fruiting stage? I would like to switch to growing mine in a pot.

I know this video is a year old but out of all the ones I’ve watched today I like yours and plan to follow your instructions. My only concern is the to much water. I live in SW Florida and it’s the beginning of our rainy season. Is that ok?

What mulch can I put on my trees. I was thinking about rice hull. I don't like the wood bark.

Any mulch works. Its main purpose in our area is to prevent water from evaporating too quickly.

You mentioned putting in the shade for a few months and then it needs sun. When do you know when to put out in full sun. For example, I live in San Tan Valley and plan on propagating in March. When should i move out of the shade in the sun?

once you see leaves growing, you know it's ready. Normally 4-6 months.

Will it be bad to have it under a grow light right when you pot it?

Can plumes and nectarine 🌳 be grown in pots.

temporarily, not indefinitely as they both have tap root systems. Will never do as well in a pot as in the ground.
