Planted 4 of them last year. They are still going but only one seems to be looking good. At the end of the year, we got a lot of rain. They almost died.
I watched Self sufficient me again and he’s got them planted everywhere. Might be worth trying a few more. I harvested one I grew this year and I reckon it was the best tasting pineapple I’ve ever tasted.
Still have 4 tops to pot up here myself, the one i bought seems to be coming back after i added some more perlite. Good luck with em

They're finicky to grow in Adelaide and yet to get one to fruit for me. One day, it will happen :)
I imagine your winters are a bit colder and longer than ours. Maybe small glasshouse might help them.
