  • Cool clear day. Winds 2-3 MPH with 5-10 MPH gusts. 50 yard range.
Vudoo V22s with Bartlein 26" barrel. MacMillan Kestros stock. BixN Andy trigger. Randolph Front and Protektor Rear rests.
Rifle was 'prepped' at start of shoot with 10 rounds SK Standard Plus.
5 rows were shot. Each row shooting in sequence; SK Standard Plus, followed by SK Rifle Match, followed by Lapua Center-X, followed by Lapua Midas +, and follwed by Lapua X-Act.
Shots were held during gusts. There was no POA compensation for wind.
Price of ammunition spread was approximately 3.8 times more for most expensive compared to least expensive.
No cards were shot for score. And groups being what they are, it seems there was a semi-clear preference of this barrel to one of the rounds.
It was a good day for shooting and a good day on the range.

Neat that you have a left handed ejection to load and unload easily

Looks like that barrel prefers the lapua ctrx averaging 0.3 in 25 shots! Simply amazing!

It would be nice to have seen all 25 of one brand/type shot before switching to the next. Nice work.

It was almost that. To my understanding SK Standard Plus and Rifle Match are the same product.....separated at the factory for packaging based on performance testing. Likewise Center-X, Midas + and X-Act are the same product.....again separated at the factory after performance testing, then packaged for labeling and pricing based on results. Also my understanding is that SK and Lapua use the same lubrication."
"All of Lapua’s lubricants are the same with the exception of the Biathlon Xtreme, as it is a dry lubricant.
Also, to my understanding SK’s lubricant is exactly the same as well, given that they are our sister company." (This from a SnipersHide thread).
Having said that, I might target your idea next spring.

For the price difference the on paper difference is not as great as one would originally think they would see. It really comes down to not which the tightest grp overall but the most consistent average. For the price SK+ is hard to beat for practice results and CX I think gives the best bang for the buck but I admit I'll often just settle for SK Rifle.

That is how I read it as well. The consistency allows for aim confidence when shooting for score. It was a bit of a thrill shooting that first CTR-X group.

Were the samples random lot numbers or have you done testing with different lots of each and narrowed it down to these? The one thing that stays constant is the Vudoo but ammunition selection is at the mercy of what is sent to you if you order it unless you can select lot numbers. This is the frustrating part about 22 rimfire when you have a rifle that only behaves when it is fed the ammunition it likes and the fact it's hard to get. Recently I have been shooting more centerfire just not the volume of rimfire at least I can handload for it.

    • @22rimfireultra67

Good question: all are random acquisition. No lot testing was done on any of the samples. The set up is a precision platform, so that is a 'reasonable' constant, leaving most of the resultant performance on the ammunition (and/or the shooter).

@@22rimfireultra67 Premium platforms don't come cheap as demonstrated here. This demonstration is also a compliment to those five different samples of ammunition proof that they are a cut above most rimfire ammunition on the shelves. There are still some others out there, I hope everyone that views your videos appreciate the expense and time you put into this as I do.

Good test! One minor criticism is that I think you’re introducing a variable by switching around round robin style vs doing all 5 groups of one type in sequence.
I have seen fliers from the first 10-15 rounds after switching ammo types that do not exist for round 20-50, for instance.
Most of my testing is 100 yard, 30 round aggregates.

Good point brought up by another a well. Will try 'in sequence' pattern next when weather permits.
What are some of your CTC 100-yard 30 round aggregate measurements ?

    • @rubenrodriguez7266
      @rubenrodriguez7266 Месяц назад

@ last test was with my Tikka T1X.
100 yards, Norma Match. It didn’t shoot overly well, but after firing 10 fouler shots, I shot an aggregate of 30 rounds into 2.26”. MR of 0.62”.
Same test with CCI SV gave me a 30 Rd ES of 2.00” and MR of 0.65”.
My Tikka isn’t particularly accurate, but I’m looking for the ammo that will give me a little less vertical ES at 100 vs the CCI SV that I use for training.
