DJI Avata Snow Storm 2024 - Took the Avata out for a snow run after we finally got our first significant snowfall here in New Jersey (USA) this past weekend. It's been a while since we've had any real accumulation so was a nice change of scenery.

Great video. Looks like you could use some hydrophobic coating in the lens though. Might help. I put some on my Air2S and it worked pretty well.

Yeah...probably not a bad idea. Only had about 45minutes to get out there before it switched from snow to rain. I kind of suspected that those big snow flakes hitting the lens might blur things a bit...snow was pretty wet at that point. Just wish the sun was out...would have made for a better video. All-in-all...still had some fun today. Have a great day and thanks for saying hi!

What ND filter WOULD you use in the snow? 16? 32?

This was a very overcast day. But depending on how sunny it was outside I would go with anything from ND8, ND16, or ND 32 (in full sun). I've shot so much footage at this point I just know which to use in difference scenarios. If I'm using my Polar Pro ND filters here's some guidelines...hope this helps.
ND8: Reduces the amount of light entering the lens by 3 stops......... Ideal choice for days that are slightly cloudy.
ND16: Reduces the amount of light entering the lens by 4 stops. ......Ideal for shooting in normal, bright daylight conditions.
ND32: Reduces the amount of light entering the lens by 5 stops....... Ideal for bright midday conditions, controlling depth of field, and conveying movement more easily. Great for really sunny at the beach or down by the shore (again, a really 'full-sun' kind of day).
