Superb review. I've just taken delivery of my Avata Pro View and Flymore Combo. It's nice to see such a positive review on the motion controller. So many reviews just want to put it down as well as the Avata in general. I guess those are the hardcore FPV guys whom build their drones from scratch. I get it, people get defensive over traditional FPV, but I love good visuals and the Avata gives me the opportunity to delve into FPV and capture gorgeous visuals. I'll be taking things very slowly as I've never flown FPV before, just my P4P and MINI 2.

That’s so cool to hear! I’m stoked that you’re getting into FPV, it’s really such an amazing and interesting world to be involved in ✌️ I’m stoked with both sides of things, from building to buying, they each have their place I believe 🙂

Awesome video! I love my Avata and thoroughly enjoy flying with the motion controller. I do have the FPV controller but haven't really gotten the skill set with it yet. Thank you so much for sharing! I subbed, looking forward to seeing more videos from you!!!

Thank you! The Avata really is a whole lot of fun 😎 The best thing to do is practice in the simulator, then just practice in normal modes with the controller and after a few hours of training yourself you’ll be ready to give manual mode a try. Honestly I cannot wait to unlock the full potential of the Avata with the remote, but in the meanwhile I’m still having fun with the motion controller haha

I'm glad you zoomed in on yourself during the "hot take" moment. I was beginning to wonder... Cheers.

Fantastic video as always! It is really interesting to hear about the motion controller since 9/10 reviewers put it in the bin after 5 minutes and don't mention it again.

That’s awesome to hear, I remember before I got the Avata I wanted to see what was possible with that motion controller but not many people seemed to show it off aside from “for beginners”

Very well-put together video presentation. Covered some great points I've not heard before. And seeing you remove the SD card, while a bit tight, shows it's easily done.
Still on the fence about getting this drone ($$$) and I already have the DJI FPV. Which, for now, serves me well, but I to want an FPV drone that can hold it's own
    cinematically.

Thanks for letting me know! I do really enjoy this quad, and would highly recommend it, but I’m unable to speak on it being an upgrade or anything from the DJI FPV flying wise as I’ve never used the original DJI FPV personally 🙂

You need the remote controller 2 so you can fly manually. Confused as to why people want to use the motion controller on a manual drone.

Hey mate, during this video I use the motion controller as a way to show what I can do with it 🙂 I’ve got the remote 2 on order, but it’s currently backlogged for another month, in the meanwhile I’ve personally been loving flying the Avata with the motion controller, it’s surprisingly a lot of fun!

So I used that shot of flying through the trees/bush as seen in this video, once for the intro and another one for the outro, sadly we’ve just had to scrap those two shots as vendor didn’t want to show off the dead trees within the forest 😭😭

Thanks so much for the info. I’m brand new to drones. Just purchased the Mavic air 2 a month ago. I want the FPV experience now. I see DJI has the Avata pro view combo for $999. Sounds like a deal

I’d have a look at my most recent video and see what your thoughts are on that drone instead of the Avata now. By all means Avata will be good, but I honestly think the one I’ve just reviewed is a better alternative

So, so many people have poo-pooed the hand controller. I've seen clips of people flying FPV (with zero previous experience) with that controller on their very first flight, flying between trees (a gap of maybe 4-6 foot, under the main canopy). If you've never flown FPV before, then this hand controller is likely perfectly fine. If you've come from "manipulating the sticks" then you're likely to 'not like it'. Just as a simple comparison, I gave someone their first flight today of a 5 inch, they've played a short while with a TinyWhoop, they were far less controlled using the 'ole sticks' than first timers who have used that hand controller. If that controller could somehow be made to fly an acro quad, with sensible inputs giving sensible results, then I seriously think it could be 'a thing'.

      @BrodieReed  Год назад

Yeah man that’s the one! I gave the controller to a bunch of full blown racers and they all said that it was seriously fun to fly with and can see it being used as a gateway into the FPV space. Sure it’s not going to be a traditional experience but it’s still a whole lotta fun

Great video! What is the back pack you use in the video? The one you packed all you gear into? Looking for a good pack for all my kit ( avata, mini 2, OM5 and MacBook) looks like a perfect bag.

Well it's not a racing drone. Its not a freestyle drone. Its a ciniwhoop and should be flown like one.

Not a bad video at all. When you do get the Controller 2 and start playing with Manual Mode. When doing front and back rolls a tip on giving it a bit more thrust upwards before doing the stunt as the Avata will drop very quickly like a small brick. Rolls are fun, and the Avata is a joy to fly.
On a person level regarding the Controller 2. I feel it's more of a kids controller to use. At least for me pinching the sticks and holding onto the Controller 2 is not easy, it likes to slip and slide around and can be a bit difficult to get a good grip. I ended up placing the Controller 2 on a flat surface and flying got one hell of a lot better. I only wish I could use my RadioMaster controller to fly my Avata and sell off that Controller 2! I feel like the RadioMaster Boxer would be the best controller ever for the Avata if we could only use it that way.

Thanks man! Yeah I’m certainly very excited to say the least haha!
Hmmmm that doesn’t sound like too much fun then 😅 I know for sure that id love to fly the Avata with the Radiomaster too, man how good would that be!
