Hi, I have a question. Is this a modded dualsense or this is a third party controller? I mean how the pc will recognize it as? I once bought a third party PS4 controller called Astro C30, and the pc will only recognize it as a Xbox controller. Some games can detect if you are using a ps controller and automatically show ps button layout, but if it's not a ps controller, it will only show Xbox layout. This happens to my Astro C40 and it is pretty annoying. So I want to ask what kind of controller is it before I buy.
**read this before buying, reasonable advice** Bought this to play COD Warzone. I owned the SCUFF FPS reflex controller for 3 months before the R1 button stopped working. Clicky trigger no longer clicked and was sent to Scuff under warranty to repair. Issue was fixed and got the controller back in a little over a month. About 4 months later I started experiencing an issue with drift. Not your typical stick drift (i.e. cursor slowly moves in certain games and can be fixed using deadzone corrections) but a stick drift that literally moves what you see selected on the screen as it if you were pressing the analog stick all the way down. I am not talking just in game, even on the PS5 menu screen it randomly moved at full speed making the controller a paper weight. Add the RMA repair at this point I have had the controller for a little over 180 days and guess what the warranty period is? 180 days! Messaged Scuff to see what they could do and was told that since it was past 180 days I would have to pay for repair which would range from $20-100!
I paid $300 CAD for this product, add the potential cost of repair and it would be $400 for this controller! Let me ask you, would you do it? The product is poor quality. In addition to what I have mentioned there are plastic mold quality concerns as well as design flaws: PS5 controller have 2 plastic parts (top and bottom) that come together like a clam. The top plastic does not sit flush with the bottom. You can feel it when you run your index finger up and down along the sides. This is not the case with OEM controller. There are 4 paddles. Unfortunately the inner paddles are easily pressed by accident so if you're trying to do a jump shot and accidently hit the inner paddles as well as the outer nothing registers at all. The easy fix is to remove the inner paddles so if you're looking for 4 paddles it'll likely be unplayable. You'll have to be very careful. Here's my suggestion. I've owned OEM controller for over 30 years and NONE of them have broken like this poor quality product. WAIT and buy the PS5 Edge Controller which is the EXACT same price as the SCUFF and very likely better quality. Don't cheap out (actually not cheap, don't get ripped off) by buying a Scuff controller than has a reputation for breaking down and stick drift. You can actually replace the analog sticks modules on the Edge without having to buy an entire new controller if you experience stick drift!!! It's pretty much a guarantee that the EDGE will be better quality than SCUFF and they are the same price so there is really no point in buying this controller. Don't get ripped of like I did. I hope this helps someone.
I paid $173 for my Aimcontrollers... completely custom with remappable paddles. Only option I didn't do was the changing the shoulder buttons to quick triggers because I wanted the adaptive functionality. My build was $229, but they pretty much always have a $50-70 off sale.

Battle beaver does offer quick pick options btw. I got a pro pick pre built all black controller from them. They offer basic pick with just 2 rear buttons, and pro pick with back buttons and digital smart trigger/bumpers. Scuff is to overpriced imo but they do look good and comfortable with the grip.

I'm so glad you mentioned the click/notch in the stick when breaking away from, and returning to center. That is something that has really bugged me with the Dualsense. I own a fair amount of controllers (15+) and so far the Dualsense and the Elite S2 are the only controllers affected by this kind of issue. Out of the five Dualsenses I've had, three of them have had the click/notch in at least one stick. I returned the two that had it the worst and 2/3 of the ones I have now are replacements. The worst part is on the Dualsense I can actually feel a sort of slight tactile bump as the click happens, so it's not just a sound. I really hope Sony acknowledges this and fixes it soon, even the base Dualsense is pretty expensive for a standard controller.
I also have this problem with my controller and it was more of a tactile bump like you said but after using it for a while it seems to have gone away for now. But still I hope newer ones don't have this issue
@@zora_tech Yeah I hope so too. I think whether it does get fixed or not will come down to if ALPS revises the module or if Sony changes to a different part #. A while back there were a few DS5 controllers popping up with the old DS4 analog modules (orange) in them, I don't know what was up with that but all of mine have had the green ones so far.

For retail in Norway, companies are legally obligated to provide repairs/ replacements to consumer electronics for 2/5 years depending on how long it's expected to last (probably 2 years for controllers, and 5 years for washing machines/ fridges). Consumer protection laws are amazing.

I just bought a Reflex pro but I also have two custom PS5 Aim Controllers. Both were around $250 or less, so paying over $300 for an Aim Controller is crazy. They are great controllers by the way.

Too all curious. Relfex base ps5 controller just came out yesterday. You can add instant triggers and the controller grips. Therefore nomatter what, there sorta all the same. I bought the base relfex and fully customized it and I bought the back up pack that Includes extra charger and multiple joysticks. It was 300$in total
Every single time I have ever had to replace a controller if it was Scuf or even a first party Sony controller is because of stick drift. If Scuf ever made a controller that was resistant to stick drift I'd pay 260 no problem.
I found your channel because I was looking for reviews for the Scuf Reflex fps after ordering it. After watching this video and majority of your other controller videos I also decided to get a Hex Rival controller. They're both expected to arrive sometime in the next few weeks can't wait to try them out.

the instinct and reflex i have both and are built very well with durable material and the back buttons are made with good positioning unlike other companies super gluing back buttons on the inside, id recommend them, if you want to keep the dualsense trigger features get the dualsense edge which you can preorder releasing january

I bought the AIM 4 paddle controller for the PS5 and in less than 2 months I’ve already went through 2 sets of the lower paddles. They just eventually weaken then twist and break off :( Sounds like I should have waited for this controller, as the paddle system seems better!
Really? I haven’t heard of that particular issue, or any issues with the aim paddles for that matter. I guess I have been lucky or maybe I don’t get as much stick time with the aim controller as you but my paddles thus far have held in place
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Yes, really! Looking at the design of the bottom paddles, there is one part of the bottom paddle that is just outside of the cap that twists on. That thin part cannot take the pressure/twisting angle when pushed on them over and over, it just eventually breaks at that part. Each of the 4 bottom paddles I have gone through breaks at the same place :( The top paddles are fine because there is no twisting angle when using the paddle. (Glad I used your coupon code and saved myself $75! - Guess I’ll wait for your Scuff coupon code and try that controller!)

How do the paddles feel and how easy are they to push when you have your pointer on the bumpers, middle finger on the triggers, and ring fingers on the paddles? I feel like most controllers are designed to have your pointer finger on the triggers but that's not me. I play Rocket League with a Scuf Impact and the long paddles are the best placement I've found so far, even though they wear out every few months.
I bought the aim controller that ships in 24hrs Listed at 350+ and I gotta say it’s worth it. I wasn’t really big into paddles and more of a button guy due to battle beaver. And I gotta say they are worth it, only if you can afford it. It’s close to a year on the life span on the controller and no flaws what so ever. But I also do take care of my controller, with putting it in a case and covering it with micro fiber cloths when not in use. Will be checking out this scuf controller, but atm I’m more into the AIM controllers than battle beaver and scuf

Love my AIM Controllers. I don’t understand the need to have to reach the back paddle. I play Warzone and the fact that I don’t have to move my finger or hand placement is a game changer. Had my PS5 Aim Controller for a year now and now issues. Scored a second one during Xmas sale $100 off. Well worth it imo
You like the hex gaming cosmetic design more but when comes too the competitive gaming you prefer the reflex adjustable hair triggers and better back paddles and haptic feedback

The click noise happens on a lot of stick modules. Both of my dual sense controllers have that same noise and my switch pro controller makes the same exact noise.
I own both aim and this scuff. I'm a woman and I find scuffs paddles to be very hard to use and reach. The aim is a much better fit for me. Although, after just three weeks one of the paddles on my aim broke. Aim sent a new set and they are much different and stronger than the ones that came with the aim.
@THE_SAM09 I play mostly first person shooters. I can aim perfectly fine with both controllers. I like to set my paddles up for a slide or secondary and I fumble with that on the scuff. The aim just feels better. However the scuff is a much more solid build. The aim I think, after this short amount of time, is going to have to have repairs.
@THE_SAM09 The ring finger press is rock solid on the Aim. I think I was already holding the controller that way anyway, if that makes sense. My only gripe is I wish the Aim was just more solid. I mean so far so good, but I wonder about it's longevity. Currently the scuff is on the shelf. I own both the Pro and the FPS version. The Pro for games where the hair triggers would cause issues. My all time favorite of all my controllers I own is the Xbox Elite. It's solid, the paddles are a great fit, all the buttons and dpad feel solid and responsive. If I could use that controller on the PS5 I would. I also own the Astro C40, and I still love the Elite over the C40. I find myself looking for more titles on the Xbox just so I can use that Elite controller. So as a woman gamer, Elite, Aim, C40, then Scuff. At this point the scuff is just dust collectors on my gaming shelf, but not because they are bad mind you, just because I have options.
I don’t mean this in an offensive way is it hard to reach the paddles on the scuf because you have smaller hands or is it just because they’re hard to reach in general regardless of your grip?
@@Da60FOVDemon I think because my hands are smaller. Which means my grip is a bit different. So both? I discovered a new issue with my aim, the joy sticks are a pull off type style. They sometimes fall off in heated play. I don't have that issue with scuff. I am finding I can hit the scuff paddles with the side of my finger. It blisters a little but it's doable. After, well 2 - 3 months I stand buy my original claim. The scuff is a much better quality build but the aim has a much better layout and feel.
The only thing you didn’t mention, that I want to know, how good us the speaker? Playing Diablo 4 and having a conversation with someone I can barely hear them out of the controller.
Not sure why, but i'm picky about the missing PS signs on the face buttons (x, o, square, triangle, up, down, options, etc.). For 250$/€ it is a MUST to have those.
I also like that the ps symbols and dislike solid color buttons, like it’s a serious pet peeve of mine, Even though I know which button is which I still like to see the symbols
As someone who purchased the Blue Reflex FPS, I can't testify that I received any kind of marketing emails from them after buying it (this being my first purchase from Scuf) BUT I can state that I've yet to receive my order, although it has just been shipped. (As of 2/25/2022). This wouldn't be a mentionable comment if it weren't for the fact that I placed this order 20 minute before my brother-in-law placed his, and he received his over a week ago. For the exact same color/model. After emailing their Support Team to make sure my order hadn't slipped through the cracks, they told me my order was coming from a different facility. Delays are to be expected, but they clearly don't fill orders chronologically. At least with these big releases, that is.
Just received mine today. It's my first non stock controller ever. I definitely need some time to get used to it, but the thing I don't like is that I can't put the kontrolfreek galaxy on it. Kontrolfreek feels so much better than the scuf sticks.

just get the dual sense edge. remember it’s still sony ctrler they just modified it and they will get bad with in 3. months

@@GamerHeavenOfficial I added the paddles and upgraded all the top buttons with the clicky button kit from extremerate on my PS5 controller. It was $70 for all the parts and super easy to install.

The stick sound you were talking about at 12:41 happens on regular dualsense controllers too. Mine does it.
For retail in Norway, companies are legally obligated to provide repairs/ replacements to consumer electronics for 2/5 years depending on how long it's expected to last (probably 2 years for controllers, and 5 years for washing machines/ fridges). Consumer protection laws are amazing.
Yes. The US has recently adopted a similar law for cell phone batteries. I believe this will carry into other electronics.

I just bought a Reflex pro but I also have two custom PS5 Aim Controllers. Both were around $250 or less, so paying over $300 for an Aim Controller is crazy. They are great controllers by the way.

Too all curious. Relfex base ps5 controller just came out yesterday. You can add instant triggers and the controller grips. Therefore nomatter what, there sorta all the same. I bought the base relfex and fully customized it and I bought the back up pack that Includes extra charger and multiple joysticks. It was 300$in total

Every single time I have ever had to replace a controller if it was Scuf or even a first party Sony controller is because of stick drift. If Scuf ever made a controller that was resistant to stick drift I'd pay 260 no problem.
I had an impact pro and sent it in for stick drift and was sent a $75 pay pal invoice for repair.. LOL

I found your channel because I was looking for reviews for the Scuf Reflex fps after ordering it. After watching this video and majority of your other controller videos I also decided to get a Hex Rival controller. They're both expected to arrive sometime in the next few weeks can't wait to try them out.
@Black Debiase Ent I use both controllers for different games. For any FPS gameplay I use the SCUF, anything else I use the Hex controller.

Just picked one up at best buy only because I bought a new gaming laptop that didn't work so I returned it and it happened to be on sale so I had enough to pick one up so fingers crossed but it looks like a great control, great video like always bro!
Would you consider doing another review now that customization etc is available? I'm really struggling finding the best controller nowadays. My old scuf is undestructable but nowadays you read about how everybody is not satisfied and everybody wants something different especially with the limited warranty. Thank you!
the instinct and reflex i have both and are built very well with durable material and the back buttons are made with good positioning unlike other companies super gluing back buttons on the inside, id recommend them, if you want to keep the dualsense trigger features get the dualsense edge which you can preorder releasing january

I bought the AIM 4 paddle controller for the PS5 and in less than 2 months I’ve already went through 2 sets of the lower paddles. They just eventually weaken then twist and break off :( Sounds like I should have waited for this controller, as the paddle system seems better!
Really? I haven’t heard of that particular issue, or any issues with the aim paddles for that matter. I guess I have been lucky or maybe I don’t get as much stick time with the aim controller as you but my paddles thus far have held in place
@@GamerHeavenOfficial Yes, really! Looking at the design of the bottom paddles, there is one part of the bottom paddle that is just outside of the cap that twists on. That thin part cannot take the pressure/twisting angle when pushed on them over and over, it just eventually breaks at that part. Each of the 4 bottom paddles I have gone through breaks at the same place :( The top paddles are fine because there is no twisting angle when using the paddle. (Glad I used your coupon code and saved myself $75! - Guess I’ll wait for your Scuff coupon code and try that controller!)

@@chaennobon3851 FYI, for $10 shipping, AIM sent me the V3 paddles and they are much better than the V2 paddles. So far, after a month, there is no sign of the same weakness.

How do the paddles feel and how easy are they to push when you have your pointer on the bumpers, middle finger on the triggers, and ring fingers on the paddles?
I feel like most controllers are designed to have your pointer finger on the triggers but that's not me. I play Rocket League with a Scuf Impact and the long paddles are the best placement I've found so far, even though they wear out every few months.

I bought the aim controller that ships in 24hrs Listed at 350+ and I gotta say it’s worth it. I wasn’t really big into paddles and more of a button guy due to battle beaver. And I gotta say they are worth it, only if you can afford it. It’s close to a year on the life span on the controller and no flaws what so ever. But I also do take care of my controller, with putting it in a case and covering it with micro fiber cloths when not in use. Will be checking out this scuf controller, but atm I’m more into the AIM controllers than battle beaver and scuf

Love my AIM Controllers. I don’t understand the need to have to reach the back paddle. I play Warzone and the fact that I don’t have to move my finger or hand placement is a game changer. Had my PS5 Aim Controller for a year now and now issues. Scored a second one during Xmas sale $100 off. Well worth it imo

You like the hex gaming cosmetic design more but when comes too the competitive gaming you prefer the reflex adjustable hair triggers and better back paddles and haptic feedback

The click noise happens on a lot of stick modules. Both of my dual sense controllers have that same noise and my switch pro controller makes the same exact noise.

I own both aim and this scuff. I'm a woman and I find scuffs paddles to be very hard to use and reach. The aim is a much better fit for me. Although, after just three weeks one of the paddles on my aim broke. Aim sent a new set and they are much different and stronger than the ones that came with the aim.
@THE_SAM09 I play mostly first person shooters. I can aim perfectly fine with both controllers. I like to set my paddles up for a slide or secondary and I fumble with that on the scuff. The aim just feels better. However the scuff is a much more solid build. The aim I think, after this short amount of time, is going to have to have repairs.
@THE_SAM09 The ring finger press is rock solid on the Aim. I think I was already holding the controller that way anyway, if that makes sense. My only gripe is I wish the Aim was just more solid. I mean so far so good, but I wonder about it's longevity. Currently the scuff is on the shelf. I own both the Pro and the FPS version. The Pro for games where the hair triggers would cause issues. My all time favorite of all my controllers I own is the Xbox Elite. It's solid, the paddles are a great fit, all the buttons and dpad feel solid and responsive. If I could use that controller on the PS5 I would. I also own the Astro C40, and I still love the Elite over the C40. I find myself looking for more titles on the Xbox just so I can use that Elite controller. So as a woman gamer, Elite, Aim, C40, then Scuff. At this point the scuff is just dust collectors on my gaming shelf, but not because they are bad mind you, just because I have options.

I don’t mean this in an offensive way is it hard to reach the paddles on the scuf because you have smaller hands or is it just because they’re hard to reach in general regardless of your grip?
@@Da60FOVDemon I think because my hands are smaller. Which means my grip is a bit different. So both? I discovered a new issue with my aim, the joy sticks are a pull off type style. They sometimes fall off in heated play. I don't have that issue with scuff. I am finding I can hit the scuff paddles with the side of my finger. It blisters a little but it's doable. After, well 2 - 3 months I stand buy my original claim. The scuff is a much better quality build but the aim has a much better layout and feel.

The only thing you didn’t mention, that I want to know, how good us the speaker? Playing Diablo 4 and having a conversation with someone I can barely hear them out of the controller.
Not sure why, but i'm picky about the missing PS signs on the face buttons (x, o, square, triangle, up, down, options, etc.). For 250$/€ it is a MUST to have those.
I also like that the ps symbols and dislike solid color buttons, like it’s a serious pet peeve of mine, Even though I know which button is which I still like to see the symbols

As someone who purchased the Blue Reflex FPS, I can't testify that I received any kind of marketing emails from them after buying it (this being my first purchase from Scuf) BUT I can state that I've yet to receive my order, although it has just been shipped. (As of 2/25/2022). This wouldn't be a mentionable comment if it weren't for the fact that I placed this order 20 minute before my brother-in-law placed his, and he received his over a week ago. For the exact same color/model. After emailing their Support Team to make sure my order hadn't slipped through the cracks, they told me my order was coming from a different facility. Delays are to be expected, but they clearly don't fill orders chronologically. At least with these big releases, that is.

Just received mine today. It's my first non stock controller ever. I definitely need some time to get used to it, but the thing I don't like is that I can't put the kontrolfreek galaxy on it. Kontrolfreek feels so much better than the scuf sticks.
