      As I only feel the need to use a Pro controller exclusively for CoD, and always use a regular DualSense for single player games - the SCUF gets my vote without a doubt. Those mouse click triggers are unmatched. Anyone who disagrees straight up hasn’t used them before. The amount of travel in the Edge’s triggers is a lot more than I was expecting, even on the lowest setting.
      The Edge isn’t bad by any means and has some awesome features, but the SCUF is the easy winner for CoD.

    The software integration on Edge sells it for me. I only recently got a custom spec'd Battle Beaver so the Edge will have to wait for a bit until the budget recovers. Hopefully by then Sony will have a 4 back button version available, since I'm never going back to the claw grip. Being able to map face buttons to the back is such a massive QoL improvement, ESP. for the Souls games.

    I have both. I do think the Edge is the better buy, even if it doesn’t currently work properly on PC. The Scuf just shoots up in price far too quickly. I also prefer Sony’s sticks to the Scuf’s, but that’s all personal preference.
    I think the Scuf has the far better face buttons but both skimped on the Dpad and could have done a truly separated pad. All in all the cost savings & warranty lean it heavily towards the Edge. Both are quality products.

      Main reason why scuf ps5 is more expensive is bc not much competition. I wouldn’t be surprised if they drop the ps5 scuf price due to the edge being in market now. Same way with the Xbox controllers, scuf reduced the Xbox controller prices to better compete with the elite when it launched.
      But imo I have used and owned every single pro controller out there and I have to say the scuf is the best imo. They all have their pros and cons.

    The swappable stick module is a MASSIVE selling point for the Edge. It essentially guarantees a certain amount of life for the thing.

      Its a massive cashgrab .Instead of using Hall sensors they left in an easily breakable part and want u to buy one for 60 bucks while Xbox support gives you a new controller if you experience stickdrift while inside the warranty window . To swap 2 Sticks on the edge you get a complete new Series X Elite 2 Controller for the same Price so really no reason to celebrate this feature. It did that several times and then I repeatedly pressed the square button and the respective paddle on the back a few times pretty hard and it fixed itself. But I worry it’s going to get worse overtime. Also, my up directional button is so hard to initiate, at least harder than it should be. It’s like the whole directional pad is shifted downward so you can press the down button just fine and lightly, but the dpad has to be pushed hard to activate the up button. I’ve had an elite Xbox controller for a long time. I actually have 3 of them. They are absolutely amazing. When playing shooters on PS5, it obviously wasn’t nearly as good as on my series X. I had a longer joystick on my right stick, shortened my triggers and obviously the paddles mad it an even bigger game changer with games like Apex Legends and Destiny 2.
    I was super close to buying a scuf for my ps5 when I realized they were coming out with the Edge. I knew the scuf wouldn’t be nearly as good. Once I saw you had to pick one style trigger with the scuf, it was a big no for me.
    I’m perfectly fine with only 2 paddles because I only use 2 paddles on my Xbox elite. Both the Elite and the Edge have almost identical customization.
    One thing you forgot to mention about the Edge is how it has the piece that clips around your usb so if you are playing with it plugged in, your metal charge port with never get weak. The piece clips around the usb and then clips into the controller making it super sturdy.
    My biggest complaint about the Edge is the awful battery life. You don’t get 8 hours out of it. It’s closer to 6 hours of constant gaming.
    My Elite Xbox controller gets like 40 hours on one charge. I don’t know why Sony can never get that part right. Xbox is way better when it comes to charge life and then options on the regular controllers.
    If you play Xbox or PS and don’t have an Elite or Edge, you definitely need one!! They are both amazing controllers.

    I own both and the Edge is far superior. You are wrong about being able to map ANY button on the Scuff. You CAN NOT map the L2 or R2 buttons to any of the bottom paddles. However you CAN map R2/L2 to the back buttons on the PS5 controller. (If you play shooters, you need to try R2 mapped to a back paddle/button, it will change your game and save your hands.) The Scuff in general just feels extremely cheap, and for that kind of money, it shouldn't. Don't waste your money, just buy the PS5 controller.

    Duelsense edge is easier to repair in my opinion. Can replace the entire module thingy for the stick if necessary. I've had a few scuf remotes with the instant triggers. They are amazing for fps especially when using single fire weapons. Only problem is they tend to break easily. They only last me about 3 months before I need to send them for repair. Just from pressing them too hard? Or may e using them daily? Not sure. For now the duel sense edge is my pick but I haven't had it very long so this may change.

    • @OmairArif
      @OmairArif 2 года назад +1

      The SCUF controllers are just modded DualSense controllers. Rip one open and there will be a Sony PCB inside. IMO you should either go with the DualSense Edge which is designed from the ground up to be a Pro controller (and lets you easily replace the quickest wear parts on the controller, the stick caps and the stick modules themselves) or DIY one yourself with parts for brands like ExtremeRate. It works out cheaper and you can fix stuff like the instant triggers yourself when they break. Hex Gaming's controllers use Extremerate parts.
      I'm also heavily against giving SCUF and Corsair (who owns SCUF) any money since the whole reason rear paddles on controllers aren't standard is because they managed to get a patent on buttons on the back of a controller and charge companies to add them. Despite the fact that prior art exists (and Valve proved this in court).

Personally the Dual Sense Edge is a great choice as long as you don't mind charging the controller every 4 hours to take a break. The vibration feels better, the controller is slightly larger so it feels better for shooting games. Being able to map the additional buttons is something I didnt know I needed. A game like Battlefield, Call of Duty and Horizon Forbidden West can really utilize this game. Quicker access to certain mechanics is great.

    If people complain about triggers not engaging as fast why not just use the bumpers to shoot?

    I've had my Dual sense edge for a year now and I absolutely love it, I love the customization of the deadzones and inputs, the trigger click adjustment and I don't have a battery life problem because I keep it USB'd but I am so so happy I made the purchase as a big FPS gamer, the back buttons are responsive and so far no stick drift at all but knowing I can replace the stick itself when there is wear and tear is an amazing peace of mind but I know at the moment they are hard to find online so hopefully sony corrects that issue and provides more inventory in circulation. 10 out of 10

    HexGaming is better than both..
    cheaper 4 paddles, instant triggers, rubberized grip, better design 😩. So, I copped it!
    Highly Recommend!!

    I would recommend the Edge because of the price 200 and scuff can go over 200 dollars

    they did a good job on the instinct pro for xbox button placement is good and you still have the option to switch between full trigger pull or instant mouse click on the fly

    My friend told me his girl had pre-ordered this a week before it dropped for him, just because he talked about it once with his brother, and she overheard.

    I have an edge currently and was considering buying a scuf as well and you talked me out of it within 90 seconds. I really, really wish the xbox elite series 2 had better polling bc i would basically only use that if it did.

    1:15 well you can keep the buttons with the X∆⭕🔳 you just can't get black or other color buttons.

    I can't believe these expensive controllers don't use hall effects for their analog sticks, seeing how stick drift is a common problem in these controllers they are suppose to be a premium product, but it seems a lot of times they use cheap parts.

    I bought a edge a couple weeks ago and don’t regret it one bit I got the older vantage scuf controller it first hold a candle to my edge controller I just can’t not wait for someone to make Hal effect joystick modules for the edge then it’ll be a end game controller

    Glad I saw this before picking up the scuff. Edge is pretty similar to my astro c40 I was using on PS4 and loved it.

    • @VAwitch
      @VAwitch 2 года назад

      I also had the C40 - the replaceable stick module for the Edge (and having 2 back buttons, same as Astro) is what sealed the deal.
      My C40 is still going strong, almost 5 years later - the only problem I've had is stick drift. I think I've gone through 4 replacements in daily multi-hour FPS play, for 4 years. (sticks last about 7-8 months before they get moved over to the other side; the rotation keeps the # of sticks bought down LOL)
      I will be interested in the magnetic module that is coming out from an after-market maker, that made some for the Switch. I think it'll be more than $20; but if it means 1 time purchase, or lasts well over a year w/o issue - it'll be worth it.

    Considering how on the edge triggers you can literally set it to have almost no dead zone at all, The scuff instant triggers don’t make much of a difference if at all in my experience. I know I’m late but very nice review.

    For pc or steam deck users scuf is better.
    Scuf have 4 back buttons which is essential but edge have only 2. You can’t remap edge back buttons on pc or steam deck (only on ps5) but with scuf you can on the controller itself without needing any software.

    Does the scuf not have mouse click buttons? I thought the face and/or dpad had clickiness

    I’ve had the reflex pro from scuf for 6 months. 3 months in and the R2 button stopped clicking (mouse click triggers) took 3 weeks to repair under warranty. 2 months later and it stopped again. I primarily play destiny 2 and apex legends. So I’m using that button a lot but the mouse clicks are designed for shooters so that really shouldn’t be happening. Buying the edge today I’m done with scuf. Not even bothering with the repair this time since it’s out of warranty and they want 50 for the repair

    I've been loving my Edge. The ability to just change out the stick module in case of drift was a big selling point for me. I don't need 4 paddles and the price of Scuf once you start adding things can get expensive, now add the possibility of getting drift and it makes a purchase like that much harder. DualSense Edge all the way.

    I really like the scuf but if I were to choose what’s better then the dual sense edge is better because if you have stick drift, you don’t have to buy another controller but instead you can just buy a new stick replacement

  • @DaintyDisaster
    @DaintyDisaster Год назад

    Also on the note that you can swap the sticks from left to right when one does get drift.
    sometimes this might fix the issue or make it less of a issue by moving the drifting side to have a lesser effect on you as ypu can have it drift on your aim or drift on your movement..at least till you replace it.
    Which means you don’t have to worry about buying left or right the replacement fits both and auto maps itself

    For the rear button
    Is it an additional button we can use ?(like the mouse side buttons wherein you can use it for different function)
    Or
    Only for remapping a button (like x button function will work if you place at rear button) having a two x buttons ?
