DO NOT BUY A SCUFF CONTROLLER After just one month of owning a Scuff FPS controller for PS5 (420 Canadian dollars tax and shipping included), I had to send it back for in-waranty repair. Maybe a year from now we could do an update to see if that is a factor for any of these. measuring when the sticks move by physical distance is a cool idea, but if you tried the same stick on a different axis you'd get different results and testing one axis on one controller from each type is kinda moot
You can probably test minimum and maximum rotational speed the potentiometers are set to by setting the in game sensitivity the same for every controller pulling the stick to the minimum distance for you to start moving rotating 360° getting you the minimum controller sensitivity and doing the same for the outer range of the stick to get you the maximum sensitivity. I'd assume the controllers that use potentiometers manufactured out of the same facility should have very similiar results depending on how much the outer case impedes the distance you can push the stick. Minimum sensitivity will be easier to test of course because you don't have to account for the time moving between inner potentiometer boundary to outer boundary.
I agree about the manufacturing, I've been trying to find which manufacturer and parts the controller use (which is nearly impossible to find) in order to stay clear of the one's PlayStation uses b/c they tend to fail often.
That's pretty hard. We love both controllers for different reasons. I would probably vote Victrix if it wasn't for the accidental trigger presses I do with it. The triggers are very light and sensitive. I still enjoy using it but that is something that I wanted to mention as that might be a red flag for you or you might like that. All preference. We hope that helps.
On these tests did you play with the controller wired as the factor of input delay could of affected your results. Also can you do a test using razers offering in the pro controller market for PlayStation
The only question I have is, did you have the PS5 edge triggers on mouse? Click settings, you have to flick the toggles down in the back. If not, they're just normal, i've seen them go down way too far I was like, those, aren't on
I would love to see these test's on the Amazon Luna controller. I originally bought the controller to stream games to my phone, and decided to test it with my PC. I ended up pleasantly surprised and really enjoying how the controller feels in the hand and the engagement/sensitivity of the joysticks. It's currently my favorite controller and has replaced both my Xbox Elite series 1 and 2. I've been planning on buying a Dualsense edge because I prefer the Ps5 controller shape over the Xbox, so we'll see if it hangs up my Luna.

Hey guys, great video i just have one question about the bumper reaction/travel on classic dualsense vs. Dualsense edge. The edge push feels a little faster to me. You got any info on that? Thank you
Yes the trigger distance for the edge was set to the shortest distance for all these tests. We felt that was most fair. We tried a test for our own curiosity with it in the longest distance and it performed basically the same as a standard ps5 controller.
For the Duel sense edge, did you guys adjust the triggers in the ps5 software to change how much travel it needs to actuate? Setting it to the smallest adjustment possible has helped me a ton getting more kills in FPS games.
Here is a question, any chance you guys have the measurements of the analog and triggers for Xbox elite series 2 controller? And possibly the core version?

@@KevsOutside just tested the trigger sensitive mode in the app with the Edge and it actually just gives you ranges for trigger dead zones. By default it is in the fastest mode by responding at 0-100 even changing the response from 0-1 had no effect on how fast the trigger responded mechanically and how far it had to move before something was registered. This test was to verify how quickly the physical components of the controllers responded on screen and adjust trigger deadzone wouldn’t change that since by default it is already at its fastest. We actually spent weeks test verify any variables to make sure we didn’t miss anything that could skew the results. We also ran the tests multiple times to verify that nothing was left to chance and the result were always the same or sighing .01 milliseconds of each other. So I believe the test still stands.
