Do you get panicked before a date?

Oh my gosh! It was meant for me to watch this video... I was literally doing this last night. I was asked to go on a date for the first time in a long time and my thought process was: "I haven't been working out, I need to start working out/ buy a waist slimmer/ buy a new dress... My hair looks boring so I should go get highlights... I wish I had braces, my teeth aren't straight enough..." etc.
I didn't even think twice about it. It's like I only think to take care of my looks when a man is interested in me. Terrible I know. I really needed to hear this. I've got to do better.

This is actually one of the greatest pieces of advice for dating I've heard. And relevant to both men and women.
"It's just practice", this was my philosophy for the date I recently went on. I told my friends that it was going to be a train wreck, and that I was ok with it being messy and awkward b/c it was practice. Getting back on the horse after a long while, it's not going to be graceful (nor successful) but how else am I going to get better?! LOL

I'm 30 and currently single.I learned a lot from your channel, I know I deserve so much more than I accepted until now and I won't settle for something less than I truly deserve. yes , men are difficult, afraid of commitment and not strong enough to say what they should say to a women..but I won't lose hope. ...you know what? I was so depressed few minutes ago, because is like anyone nowadays want to have something real. Just having fun around seem to be the rule! Anyway...I was sad, but watching this video reminded me of the plenty of things I could be doing right now in order to create an amazing life 💜 There's no point in being sad just because you haven't found a partner yet. Hi Matthew, I enjoy watching all your videos! Super helpful. However in this video , the point that you make, isnt this equivalent of living our life in audition mode all the time? When I am on a date, or a seminar as you mentioned, I am thinking of a seminar 6 months down the line . So isnt this counterproductive? Just trying to understand how is this sustainable ?

I was wondering, even though it seems silly, what's the difference between dating someone in a relationship, as opposed to a stranger or some one you just met recently. What I'm asking is, how should dates be with someone that you've been with, say... a year. What should be different about them.

I am practicing this advice. It can be hard when you get rejected a lot, but now i come out of dates thinking...'hey i really like who i am and how i presented, actually he wasn't nearly as in his element.' Even if they don't like me in the end. I get a better idea of what i do want!

Dating shouldn't be these one off things but continuous events throughout all stages of relationships. Look at a long married happy couple, they may say they haven't been on a date since they met, and would probably never find time out just for their own relationship as they get caught up in their busy lives again, they forget about the initial relationship that may slowly deteriorate because of they neglect quality time spent with each other. Dating is for everyone, at every age and every stage!!
I knew about this same advice that someone else told me about years ago Matthew, on how one should always "stay ready" so I don't have to get ready, unfortunately, for most older women, there is much more maintenance involved with staying ready!....I did notice that the long sleeve t-shirt that you are wearing accentuates your shoulder muscles and your chest much more than the other t-shirts that you wear... When I was your age I could get away with wearing a bright white t-shirt and a pair of good stretchy jeans...
