  • With just a 1.5mm orbit, this Milwaukee 2531 M12 FUEL Orbital Detail Sander works great for working in tight spaces and in crevices. You can select from 4 MAX speeds, and you can use the variable speed trigger to throttle the speed your desire for the application, up to 14,000 OPM. Along with 9 pieces of sandpaper, you also get an interface pad for sanding profiles, and a pad saver. The sandpaper and pads use hook and loop to secure to the sander. #milwaukeetool #sander #woodworking

    Great video. I feel truely informed now. No lie, I've been a happy owner of the sander for a few weeks now. I have to admit that I thought that the trigger lock did something but didn't read the instructions and moved on. Also tossed the interface and guard pad on the shelf and forgot about them. Can't wait the head to the shop. Thanks again

    I was trying to figure out why I would use the 2531 vs a Multi tool for detail sanding. The explanation and drawing of the sanding patterns for these tools was a perfect explanation! Thank you, great job.

    I love that sander. I hope Milwaukee makes a 5 inch M18 fuel random orbital sander especially with an auto setting in the speed knob to automatically adjust the speed depending the amount of vibration in the sander handle and designed to work in harmony with their 6 gallon and up M18 fuel wet dry vacs.

    Awesome video as always! Now I’ve got to go buy a new tool damnit! If possible I would love to see a comparison test between the new CP2.5 and XC5.0 HO batteries versus the older CP3.0 and XC6.0. As an automotive technician I already know which batteries I’m going to buy I’m just curious how the older 3.0 and 6.0 non HO batteries compare in power and runtime to the new 2.5 and 5.0 HO batteries.

    From working with other sanders, I understand the pad saver is mostly to keep the heat off of the main pad. Once you overheat that main pad, it is basically trash.

    I could be wrong I just got this detail sander the other day at Home Depot I was under the impression that that pad was an adapter for the mesh sandpaper. and the actual pad that comes on the detail sander is for your standard hook and loop/velcro?. This way you can run traditional sandpaper or the mesh sandpaper. The interface pad I knew it was for getting into contours and small detail trim anything that may have a crevice or slight radius . But if that is the case that’s good to know

  • @Intoxacajun

    Just turned down about $2000 job on refinishing double wooden doors because of all the detail sanding on all the decorative detail trim. Just saw this tool at home of da po and checking out videos. Would have taken job if I had known about it. Did a double door with oscillating and 12v right angle die grinder to get into tight spots but I think this tool would work great for this!!

    I used my detail sander for 1 day and it made severe damage to my 6ah battery. I think it is the combo of leverage from the 6ah battery and the vibration. Milwaukee did not answer to my complaint. Does anyone else have this problem?

    What is the brand of sand paper you cut down

  • @MichaelrPeltierII
    @MichaelrPeltierII Год назад +1

    It’s a through review on all aspects but seems quite bias. I’m not so anal retentive that I have to own all of the same brand tools. I get what serves the function I need, has the best performance for the price, and multi functional helps as well.
    With that said a review of a Milwaukee tool from a guy that owns a wall full of Milwaukee tools doesn’t make me feel like I would hear about any downfalls even if there were any.
    However your video did provide me on the information I wanted on the tool which is why they called it a orbital sander. From videos I’ve seen where it was being used it seemed to have no motion what so ever which you clarified by saying it has a 1.5mm orbital path which I’m assuming is reduce pig-tailing. But with motions so tiny does it even matter what pattern it is in. At least with oscillating motions it can be matched with grain direction as with orbital there will always be 50% of the motion that goes against the grain. Assuming the grain is relatively straight which on some species it’s all over so it doesn’t matter regardless.
