The recipes are easy to follow and I used things I had on hand in the pantry already. You can make these meal dump and go bags up for your size servings. I made mine to feed four adults.

A basic onion soup mix is easy to make with dry beef bouillon, dried onion flakes and/or onion powder, celery seed and black pepper. Run paper dry onion skins through a blender if you're hard up on onions. The skins aren't very flavorful.

Thank goodness they are finally on to your knee problem and taking action on it. I love your videos. I’m a kiwi living in Aussie and kinda stuck here. I managed to leave the city and have homesteading in my heart, so it’s wonderful to find someone who I relate to so much and I can understand the recipes. I’m keto due to intracranial hypertension and always trying to shift my butt, still gotta cook normal for everyone else. I reckon you could share all your cooking, even the keto stuff. It is NOT as pristine as your guest's pantry (earlier video), because of issues with space and actual cupboards...but it's getting there. I do hope your surgery goes amazingly. I’m wishing you a successful surgery. My husband had knee replacement in November of 2023. He had all the things wrong with his knee you mentioned you have going on.
I am wondering how your surgeon will manage to repair those injuries using only a Minimally invasive method.? I guess we’ll know soon enough.

I found some previously roasted and then shredded chicken legs in the freezer. I plan to make a chicken noodle bake. I’ve been making my own “cream of “ soups. I like them so much more than canned. Broccoli and carrots will be our vegetable.

Thanks for your well wishes Lori, he said he is just going to cut out the flaps of injury. However, he said that could be the thing that is holding it all together. Fingers crossed it works. At least my knee will stop locking up and making me fall.

Stacy, have you ever tried South African biltong? Red meat mostly, but recently chicken also features. It's a marinated, seasoned meat left to dry out then left as a muscle, chopped thinly or powdered for sandwiches. The flavours are incredible!! Also a biltong soup- oh my goodness... that is absolutely divine!!! In SA biltong is quite pricely, but so special that we ofyen give it as presents. Great to take on picnics or camping trips, or to school sport events. There is even a biltong cake! Any person here would be so thankful for anything biltong related!
I love it but unfortunately, it is one of the many foods I can't eat anymore because of my Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Food seems to be more ex over there. In the UK a box of 1kg chicken legs costs around £2. $40-$60 Aussie dollars is the equivalent of what we spend during a week for groceries for 1-2 people. Also when we buy chicken legs it’s the entire leg including thigh. We call those drumsticks.
I'm not crazy about deer meat but I do love the jerky. Praying for your surgery to go well and for a speedy recovery 🙏. I love these freezer meal ideas 👍

@FarmersWifeHomestead thank you! We are slowly becoming bionic, already have an upper arm that is titanium. At least I don't set off metal detectors when going through security. At least we live in a time where such repairs can be made.

huge help I live fairly remote and have to shop once a month i did it yesterday so today is prep - guess who is making loads of chicken meals! yay - with regard to knees I went to Mongolia last year with a lady who had had the full knee replacement and she ran rings around me and all the men on the trip - took away all my fear seeing her in action - I got dodgy knees and once the steroids stop working They can chop the blasted things out and i'll live with setting off the airport security as I waddle through - all the best I'll keep you in my prayers

I hope the keyhole surgery works for you. My knees are in a bad way too because of playing soccer when I was younger. I've had 4 procedures done on them.
I had no idea what a sheet pan was, we call them baking trays.Great simple freezer recipes Stacy.

My first question would be about herbs and spices, if you don’t know much about what goes with what , which ones would be best to buy, I need to throw all mine away and start again, my daughter was the one that used them more.
We could do another one while I'm recouping.
Interesting version of apricot chicken- I’ve always used apricot nectar and French Onion soup mix, never tried tinned apricots!🤷♀️👍🏻

There is nothing better than a chicken dinner! My forever favorite is whole roasted chicken (Vegeta, salt, Maggi seasoning liquid and an apple inside. I also truss is after seasoning the inside with Vegeta and apple, rub in some oil and seasoning liquid and salt-pepper and I bake it on a rack) but I want to try your recipes for freezing. I wish you the bests for your surgery and I hope you gonna get well as soon as possible! ❤

Oh my, they all sound great! I really am intrigued with onion soup mix and apricot in the slow cooker. (We have onion soup mix in the US) I'm thinking this will be one night this week. Thanks again Stacy for another great idea to give a try!

Another great thing to use on chicken is marmalade, poor man's version of Chicken A La Orange. Chicken Adobo is a very nummy and easy to make, it's a Filipino dish. I have a few websites I like to check out for different recipes. Rasa Malaysia, the Mongolian Beef dish is really tasty and it could be a dump meal and Future Dish, if you want to try Korean, they also have a channel. A tip I got from my Chinese boss, use baking soda for tenderizing the meat, don't use a lot or it just taste terrible after, about a 1/2 tsp or I use to use cornstarch too. Happy Pear if you want to try some really good vegan or vegetarian dishes. Hope the knee surgery goes well and relieves the pain.
Funny, I worked at a Chinese Restaurant when I was young and I got the same advice and use it to this day. Thanks for the ideas and the well wishes.

Great video Stacey, I'm going to take your idea and bag up meals ahead when I move into my new house..well it's not new, it's a fixer up. But I'm having my 16 yo grandson live with me and he's 6'5" tall. Bigger than most men, if I use this meal prep in advance I may keep up..😂😂😂 Happy 52 nd🎉🎉 for last week..I'm 10 years older but I still think I'm 20 ..till I look in the mirror 😂. ❤ A&B 🇦🇺
