Alex I played with my senior golfers yesterday and after the first hole of loosing 2 balls with my driver I started using my 3-5 fairway woods.. to my amazement I was driving nearly as far as my driver … but always in play or even the middle of the fairway… I now watching the video again because I can only seam to take one item a time to the course… next time I be working on the practice swing and brushing the ground… Also you black don’t on my wedges is making them go so much further… it’s a nice problem to have as I now got to work out my new approach yardage for my clubs as my sandwedge has gone from 70 to 90yards.. I think it’s change the way I striking all my irons… I just can’t hit my 6-5 irons… Many thanks
Looks simple enough, can’t wait to try it. I’ve been asking myself lately why I even bother carrying a 3w because I have zero confidence in my ability to hit it
Nice job explaining the hybrid swings. I’ve been avoiding my hybrids and now am willing to give them fair chance😂. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks Alex.
I tried your tip today and hit every fairway wood just like you. Unbelievable results. I tried the same with my driver scratching the turf 4inches behind and the results were great. It gave me great tempo and it allowed me to hit the ball on the up. Thanks for the video.
Hi Alex! I would like to know how to perform well on difficult lies: down, upper, etc... Sometimes you find difficult courses; especially the mountainous courses Thank You
Hi Alex, your enthusiasm is fantastic as are your tips. I have just changed from a mallet to blade putter. Putter fitting numbers showed a better contact. Do you have any putting tips at all. Cheers c
Hi Alex, great video! There's one thing I don't understand. So without a tee you want to have ground contact just at the center of the ball. I would translate this to an attack angle somewhere between -1 and 0. So more like an iron and not like a driver. That makes total sense to me. But when using a tee you're teeing up pretty high and still use the same technique. From my understanding this should produce sky balls as you're hitting down on the ball. How does that work? Or do you rather hit up like with the driver when using tees? I am really confused :D Thank you!
This should help me on fairway. Off tee have been using that height that I seen on early video by you. 67 and 2nd year golfing off tee between 190- 220 thanks.⛳
Great video. I struggled with getting my hybrids in the air. Used this technique today and was amazed at my hits. Next, I will try with 3 and 5 woods that I rarely use. Thanks for this great video!
Hi Alex, have you had to give any tips to a cack handed golfer. I am right handed with the reverse grip. I can hit quite a good drive but really struggle with my chipping game. Have you any tips you could offer. Appreciate this is probably a strange request. Thanks
One of your greatest tricks, Alex 🖐️! Just gave it a try today and smoked my 5-wood golf balls every time! I am going to glue a straight string to my chest for strokes off the fairway. Thanks 😁😉✌️!
Alex love your lessons but can I make suggestion….as this video illustrates very clearly, to me anyway, I have no idea where your shots went. Ball tracking would really add more to your videos like this! Cheers from Canada
Alex, the problem I'm having is standing up in my downswing, usually topping the ball, without realizing it. Is there a drill to help me make sure I stay down?
Intimidating clubs, those hybrids and FW Metals. The preshot swings with small divots is good. However, after having spent like weeks devising a way to avoid that first tee top with my 4h and the subsequent walk of shame in front of my flight partners, I can offer this: Key to ensure a solid strike contact under pressure is basically to keep the head perfectly still and the weight at least 60% on the lead foot. On setup you take a 60% weight on lead foot AND KEEP IT LIKE THAT. Do NOT sway to the back while going into back swing, rather feel your lead shoulder pointing down to the ball. Lastly, do not try to swing hard. Let the club do it's magic and swing easy and round (picked that up from Danny Maude, thanks mate).
Great tips for 3-wood ball striking! The half swing helps me to not try to KILL it with my full swing. And scratching the turf in front of the ball a couple of times helps to extend the arms through contact!!!!
Great plan Alex! In a future video, could you explain how you build a smooth tempo into your swing? I tend to swing “at” the ball too hard and lose that nice cadence you demonstrate.
Hey Alex quick question. I struggle with finding the bottom of my swing arc consistently resulting in a lot of fat and thin shots with an occasional pure shot. My question is... if you rest the iron on the ground behind the ball, wouldnt that be the low point of the arc? Should I hover my irons behind the ball to prevent the arc being behind it?
Hey great videos! I have a question, I notice in your swings that your left leg stays so effortlessly still through impact. In my swing, my left leg looks like it jerks straight as an arrow, and left knee locks out. I shift my weight well, but I know o shouldn't be straightening my left leg at impact. Any tips? Thanks!
Alex , I’m a good fairway wood player , my issue is playing off slopes of all angles can you do it or should I revert to irons . My course has very few flat fairways and quite often duff the shot .
Great video, I still think the best tip for a fairway wood is a sneaky polo mint under the ball, to give you a nice little fluffy pro Augusta type lye,😊😊it's only fair.
I love your channel! I’ve often wondered that throughout your sessions, there’s no one on the course. How do you do that? …it doesn’t happen in real life lol. Keep up the great work.
Alex I have to say thank you. Fairways have always been my biggest weakness and was holding my overall game back. Been trying this tip in my last three rounds and can’t believe how amazing! Thanks so much, changed my game!
Alex I struggle trying to keep my hips from getting too far ahead of my hands which usually results in a hook. I've been trying to slow down the back swing and actually feel like I'm hesitating at the top before making the downswing soy hands are moving in concert with my hips. Do you have some suggestions?
So just to confirm your tip for amateurs who cant hit woods is take two practice swings to start hitting the ground in the exact same position both times exactly in line with the ball?? Revolutionary mate.....
The captain obvious of fairway woods... 😅 1. Brush the ground, dont dig. 2. You should never have all kinds movement like that at the elbows on any shot. 3. On the tee, your ball should be around a half ball above your wood, just like every other wood in your bag? 😅
*Without doubt this is the fairway technique that I go to 100% of the time! Follow the 3 point plan*
I’m new to your channel Alex so you may have already covered this question. How do you set up on an up sloping and down sloping stance?
Are u a pro?
As a senior golfer I love the Callaway heavenwood. 7 wood loft on a 4 wood length shaft, its money.

You are quickly becoming one of my favorite instructors, Alex. This was a great lesson!

How did you get on with 3 and 5 woods? I'm going to try with my 3 and 9 wood.
Hi Alex, is the distance you stand from the ball different when you play irons to drivers?
Hi Alex, have you had to give any tips to a cack handed golfer. I am right handed with the reverse grip. I can hit quite a good drive but really struggle with my chipping game. Have you any tips you could offer. Appreciate this is probably a strange request. Thanks
Using your tips I started. Par, Bogey, Par today. Usually it's double bogey, bogey, bogey. Thanks!
Alex, I have problem with my 4iron and 3iron. Maximum distance 100-130 only. How fix it ? Thank you so much.

Hi Alex , love these tips , wonder will this fix my 7w fairway shots which mostly draw too much ?
Seriously gorgeous lesson. Thank you.

Amazing information. I never knew how to properly use my fairway wood. NOW, I do. Thanks
Going to give this a try on the range today..always needed help in this area😊

Informative tutorial, thank you

Great tip, quick and easy. Keep them coming!
Thanks Alex! I am now crushing my 2-wood because of this video :-)
New to the channel Ok so would this be the same for a hybrid I don't have a fairway wood in my bag
Yes you could also do this with hybrid
Great video Alex, you answered a lot of my questions, thank you!
This looks a great tip will try ASAP.
Let me know how you get on Tony!!
Allways top quality video ❤

in 2019, a set of Calloway Rebels taught me to love fairway woods.

Match slope with ur body and choke down a bit helps me
Blimey that sounds like my course. Hardly a flat lie going.😁

Danke!
Alex, an A plus for the tips as usual. C- for that shirt.
How do you hit hybrid irons?
Alex, I tee it up 2 centimeters high with a 5-wood, 3 with a 3-wood.
Great Technique.......
Glad you think so!
any advice on a golfers bad back ?
I wouldnt like to say so to be honest !
I keep fading my fairway wood shots, how can I correct?
Always timely for me. Thank you Alex!
Great to hear jim!!
Hi Alex hands central or just inside left leg ?
Just inside the left leg!! Great question
Another great video Alex, looking forward to trying these tips 👏
Thank you Richard!! Happy
To hear this is going to help you

I is s that a max not an LS?

Ur the only one who see the ball went
Most golfers should not carry a 3 wood. a 4 or 5 wood is a far better choice.
Why do Brits call them “tee pegs” when calling them “tees” as we Americans do is so much more succinct?
As the British invented the language and the game was played there centuries before it was played here. I suspect that they're correct.
@@lawrencebogar6136 I actually suspect the real reason is to differentiate between the tee box and the tee peg

Hi Alex, it's called raising- not highering. Keep practising your English and you'll soon be talking like a native.
Practice swings are the devil.😀
