ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On RUclips and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing - Спорт
I don’t miss one of your videos. You’re absolutely the best keeping a complicated game simple! You’re the king of the KISS method. Greeting from Saudi Arabia. 🇸🇦 🎉sultana
I am 79...only playing for 7yr's...consistently in the nineties. I have followed and and practiced as much as I had time and the $. You are arguably the best I have seen. I will only use your instructions for improving my game. BTW, I live in London, Ontario Canada
I'm 36 and I hope I can become 76 soon to improve my score. Cheers.
What’s your favourite course in london! I’m london as well.
Thanks Danny! As a 72 year old, I sometimes get fast in my swing sequence and things go wrong. This video helps to make me understand how swing rhythm, ball position, and swing extension all fit together to make the swing fluid. Great explanation. Looking forward to going through your videos!

Happy to help Johnson 😁
Brilliant video. Been struggling with fairway woods. You make so much sense when you break it down. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks Danny.
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic! So clear. No complicated crazy moves or positions. Just a simple, carefully presented, explanation that answered a lot of my questions.
Really appreciate the feedback
Absolute brilliance again Danny. This video answered a lot of issues I have with my swing from time to time (with all of my clubs), not just when hitting fairway woods or hybrids. You’re the best!
Thank you Keith, appreciate your support 👍
Time and again, Danny, it is this type of coaching videos and instructions and drills that really make a difference. I JUST LOVE the feet together relaxed circle swinging. I have in fact added it to my preshot routine, as it makes sure I get relaxed in the shoulders and hips and get body mojo going. I cannot thank you enough, mate.
You are so welcome Oliver
He’s the best for sure 👍
Great video Danny. I've ditched my 3 wood and moved to a lofted down 5 wood and a 7 wood. The 7 wood is a proper cheat stick!
Mr Danny, I can't thank you enough for your tips and videos. My wife has only been playing for a few years, and her hybrids and woods are a hit and miss. Showed her this, and our last golf outing was a massive improvement. It was so fun watching how excited she got, and it made her golf game so much more enjoyable. They may just be simple drills and tips, but for something like golf that is a big part of our lives, it makes a huge difference. Thank you for what you do!
You are very welcome
Everyone should have this video in their mailbox! Before tip 5 I was thinking what a brilliant rhythm you have and need for this shot, as I tend to be jerky or not turn if anxious. Tip 6 which I add: look to hit at the shadow under the ball. This keeps me stay down through impact for longer. Thanks, Danny. It’s great you’re doing local groups so you continue to realise what problems we amateurs tend to have on the course.
Thanks for your feedback 👍
After watching your videos it really annoys my playing partners when I loudly proclaim “look at that, I absolutely ripped that” 😂
They must love you!
I’ve been saying “we want to hit the ball beautifully “
Whenever I hit a great driver shot, I find myself saying, out loud, "Now where's it gone?" 😄
Danny I have been watching your videos for several years now. As I’m watching your current video about Fairway Woods, and hybrids while I am recovering from back surgery, I’m just amazed how wonderful your lessons are. And unlike others you don’t assume everyone is 22, flexible and with no physical issues. You give us a little gems to think about your lessons one of which today was you don’t need to use or own a three wood unless you have enough swing speed and instead to use a five or seven wood. That’s the same thing my pro has been telling me, especially with respect to longer irons. Unless you have the swing speed, a five iron will go just as far as a six and six just as far as a seven iron. Keep up these great videos. Harvey Cooper, age 77 next week.
Thank you Harvey 🙏
Danny is the very best coach you can have the benefit of learning from.He keeps it simple but best of all you will find that his advice WORKS!!
This is a great video, Danny. You make what is seemingly complicated, clear and easy to understand. Thanks for posting such helpful content!
A lot of very good tips and reminders came out of this video. Many thanks.
love this videos! Simple, practical and to the point. love the relationship that you have with your dad, you are a great son!!
Hi Danny , my buddy's are getting nervous how well I'm hitting the ball now because of you . Thank you so much my confidence level has skyrocketed ! So much more fun to play . Thank you .
Wonderful to hear well done
I learn a lot from your videos and really appreciate you showing us the better ways to play golf and become a more rounded golfer.
Love this drill, thanks Danny!⛳️🏌🏼♂️
Thanks Danny, great lesson I’ve never owned a three wood for good reason I think.. I use Driver, five wood and one hybrid which does the job for me. I will give this a try tomorrow morning, thanks again…
This is the best video I have seen on avoiding topping fairway woods (I have seen a lot). Can't wait to give it a try!
Glad it was helpful!
awesome vid danny. probably the best ive ever heard these types of shots being taught.
I’ve recently picked up golf. And have been watching nonstop videos on how to swing. Your videos are great and have helped me drastically for a new golfer.
Wonderful to hear 🙏
Another awesome lesson Coach Maude every lesson l watch from you l take it to the driving range and practice that lesson for hours and it works marvelous on the golf ⛳️ course Thanks again Mr.Maude you’re awesome!
This was an awesome tutorial! Explained so well. I appreciate you explaining the low points and where I should strike the ball to be able to hit it well. The feet together drill and learning to keep balance with a consistent swing is brilliant! I always have trouble keeping my balance when I swing forward to strike the ball. I end up losing my balance and I lean back instead of following through and going forward. I can't wait to try this out at the range. I'm already striking the ball pretty decently but I feel like I have that bad habit sometimes where I will swing widly unbalanced and lean back and top or miss the ball completely! Thank you! Your explanations are always well thought out!
Exactly what I needed. Just realized yesterday that this an area for improvement. Thanks Danny
Glad to help!
Your graphics are always super helpful to visually represent what you’re saying. Another great video
Really kind thank you
This is exactly what I needed I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my woods thank you
You are very welcome
Hardest club for me to hit consistently! Thank you!
You got this, all the best Ryan
Danny I have been watching you for a long time now and I can't express how much you have helped me get my game back in play. Would you happen to have any videos on gripping the clubs. Something to the effect of where the palm should be setting on the club and so forth...I noticed the I am having to move my hands down about an 1/2 inch for more consistent hits?
You deserve all the success in the world, this video seriously made everything make sense for me. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Gonna rush to the range to practice
Wonderful, specific, effective and objective. Will try this now.
Wonderful! Have fun
Thank you Danny!
Morning Danny . I realise your golf instruction is about full shots . Most Amateur golfers every round find them selves having to make recovery shots ie keeping balls under branches , through gabs between trees . Often I feel I hit a good recovery shot only for the ball to hit a low branch . A few tips on striking the ball to keep it low would be good . Let me know your thoughts . All The Best Tony
Love your videos it has improved my game in course
A lot of common sense in this video Danny. The feet together drill, which I had forgotten about, will be a game changer for me! Cannot wait to put these drills into practice. Thanks again.
Thanks John!
Thanks again Danny!!! I changed my 3 wood for a 5 wood for this golf season and the ease of hitting the 5 wood is wonderful. Getting same carry distance out of the 5 wood off the deck ❤.
Happy to help!
Great lesson Danny!!!! The wife and I were just working on getting her to be comfortable hitting her woods off the ground.
Good stuff! Hope this helps
Great Simple to follow
Morning Danny. Another top video. All your videos have brought my game on leaps and bounds. Keep it up 🏌️⛳️
Glad to hear it Justin 👍
Thanks Danny!
That last item - sweet flow - is what has produced all my good shots. Coming from a number of sports where aggression and force are often essential elements of success (rugby, squash, cricket and badminton), the calm, sweet flow is a difficult sensation. But it seems to be the essential key to progress down the fairway.
Rhythm can really help you coordinate your movement
Great video! Great instruction! Finally someone who can explain the details!!!
Happy to help Brent 👍
Thanks for this Danny. I used to hit hybrids really well but of late have been topping them. I think my ball has been too far back in my stance and I am squashed for room and then I rush the shot through frustration. I will practice this tomorrow. On a separate note I rewatched a chipping video and what a difference it has made. As ever thank you for your videos. Cheers Kevin
Thanks Kevin, appreciate the support!
Great illustrations and explanations Danny! Thank you. Dom
Really kind thank you
I asked, you delivered. Exactly what I wanted. Cheers DM.

I've always been perplexed by people that don't hit fairway woods off the turf. I'm a relatively short hitter, so fairway woods are a must for me. I remember David Toms back in the day would talk about his utility 5-wood, and all the different ways that he would hit it, and it made me want to learn how to properly utilize the clubs for more than just off the tee. Great video!
@dforiza thank you so much for your comments. Really appreciate it 🙏🏻
I really like the beginning of this video that describes how to hit out of different lies. I think that's something that I struggle with as a new player, especially watching these youtube golfers in pristine conditions who hit every fairway.
I like to see how to hit it on some choppy munis that I play at, with knotted grass sitting behind the ball, stuff like that.
Extremely clear instruction, great visuals and good tidbits on feet position. SUBBED!
Geez!! I think you are amazing!! I love this, I'm subscribed and watching everything. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!!!
As always, thank you for these amazing videos!
Really happy to help
Excellent tutorial!
Loved this fairway wood video! I’m having issues with hitting my fairway woods! Will try these exercises!😊
You got this!
This was a GREAT video! Thank you for making your videos so simple and informative.
My pleasure
I'm learning so much from your videos, amazing.
Happy to help Kevin!
Great video lesson Danny! Thanks very much!
Also enjoyed your feature on irons in the current issue of Today’s Golfer.
Great stuff!
Thank you Rob 🙏
Great video. By coincidence I decided a week or so ago to commit to hitting every shot in practice with my feet together this year. This video has confirmed to me I should give this a try . Thanks Danny
Happy to help Hartley!
Absolute gold Danny! Thanks
Thanks William 😁
Just what I need right now. Have focused primarily on irons for months to fix consistency issues (Golfing 2.5 years) and seems my woods consistency suffered (were always far better than my irons). Side note, your driver videos helped me start outdriving my friends last year and last week hit my first eagle (par 5) after a great drive, long utility iron shot, and then holed it from 80y with SW. thought my buddies were messing with me when i got to green looking for my ball (steep hill to green). Thanks for all of your wonderful instruction Danny!
That’s great happy to help you! Thanks for taking the time to comment 😁
Really appreciate these explanations 💗 As a beginner I only feel comfortable with my 8 iron and I need to start trying my hybrids. Thanks Danny😁
Pleasure Sheila
Another AMAZING video! Everything is explained So Simple that you make fun! (As any "game" should be). The " One and two" timing is phenomenal! Adopting it right away! Thanks!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Great breakdown, will definitely try these
Hope you enjoy Chris
Your tips really work thanks man .im glad i found this channel
Awesome to hear
Great sound advice without making things more complicated than necessary!
The feet together drill is invaluable to dialing in a consistent swing plane.
I think it would be interesting to play a round of golf limiting yourself to keeping your feet no more than a foot apart. I bet a lot of average golfers would play a better round than usual doing that.
So true 👍
Thanks Danny. Great video sometimes we all need a point in the right direction however long we been playing
We do indeed Ken, me too
lotta extra info i didnt expect 🙏
Enjoyed the lesson, liked and subscribed!
Thanks Danny ... you could have been explaining my current pain with my fairway woods....I do all of those errors.... I will certainly give your tips a go.... well done great video 👍
Thanks Tony!
Always been pretty good with my fairway woods but I can struggle with my hybrids hitting a little fat sometimes . Another great video Danny. Cheers
Thanks Dave 👍
I recently bought some hybrids and was topping them terribly. I was doing some research and found two things that helped. The idea of hitting the ball first but very shallow, and the biggest difference maker was laying the soul of the club properly (flat). I intend on heading to the range and focusing on my fairway wood and hoping those two tips have the same effect as my hybrids. I didn't hear you mention the lay of the club head, is this what you do?
Hi Neil, thanks for sharing your learnings. Laying it flat sounds a great idea
Great video, especially the feet together drill ⛳
Thanks 👍 Robert
Thanks Danny. Great info 🤙
Pleasure, really happy to help
Brilliant video Danny, indeed it has greatly helped my wood shots get better 😊
Thanks Nasiris 😁
Thanks
Thanks, Danny. I am happy with the tips. Going to the driving range and practice.
Let me know how you get on Oscar!
Great video, Danny!
And get fitted for that fairway or hybrid!
I had a couple of hybrid models in mind and the one that fit best, wasn’t even on my radar.
I see this a lot
Well explained, now I understand the feet positioning in every club, worth downloading
Happy to help
@@DanielMaude thank you
I love your advise. I took a run at my armature Canadian card back in the early 90s. Because of a move I could really play for 20 years. Things have changed so much. I would only say what I don't like is showing me the wrong way then the right way. Just a thought.
Another great ideo Danny keep them coming please
All the best Gordon
I agree completely with comments from "potteratthebrit".
Thanks again Mr. Danny.
May God bless and protect you and your family.
Thank you Earl!
Thanks Danny, five great tips which I know will help me avoid topping my fairway woods 🤦♂️. BTW I totally agree with you, no need for a 3W in my bag. Recently I replaced it with a 9W which is fantastic around my tight parkland course 👍⛳️
Great choice
Danny,
Your comment about not hitting 3 wood strikes home for me. While I used to hit the club reasonably well, my reduced swing speed has rendered the club much less effective for me. I will resurrect my 5 wood and give that a try. Great advice! Thanks!
Love to hear how you get on Ted
@@DanielMaude Danny, I played last week in California. I recouped my old 5 wood from my son and it worked like a charm. Now I have to get fit for a new 5 wood.
great advice
Thank you 🙏
Thank you Peter 😁
This has definitely given me confidence to try and hit the dreaded 3 wood. Very informative and detailed drill .
Thanks Rob let me know how you get on 👍
Excellent video, thanks. Tried it on the range and found the final tip so helpful. I find I slightly rush my backswing and then come up too early. Using a 19 degree 3 hybrid was trying to get better rhythm and stay down on the shot and was surprised about getting distance with an easy swing. Question please, I have a generally slower swing than most and struggle to get fairway wood airborne constantly. Is 19 degrees enough loft would you say for a slowish swing for fairway hybrid / wood?
Great video. I can't wait to get to the range and practice these tips.
Thank you 😁
Thank you!
Pleasure Cindy
Cracking video Danny. You made those shots look easy. I've been hit and miss lately after watching this I think I've been too quick and jerky. Thanks as always and have a great weekend
And you Jullian, looking forward to the masters
@@DanielMaude it will be a cracking week. Would like to see Fleetwood or Rory win
Your swing and tempo are so smooth! I've heard a lot about upper/lower body separation to gain speed and distance but you're so smooth that I don't see it. Is it really necessary? Thanks, Danny!
I am a new subscriber, your videos are the absolute best. I have played for over 60 years, have a single digit handicap and your videos help me remember those things that I tend to forget, thanks so much for your clear instructions
Thanks Joe!
Hi Danny, would love to see a video explaining what loft/shaft flex you would generally recommend for driver depending on swing speed/strike pattern. It’s something I’m looking into at the moment and can make a pretty big difference from what I’ve seen so far
Excellent video! Your videos have helped me a lot, but this clip was exceptionally good. Thank you very much!
That’s very kind thank you
That is so true …
I hit my 5-wood just as far as my 3-wood; so I no longer have my 3-wood in my bag (just a 5-wood and 7-wood)
I have ARCCOS on all my clubs and my average distance with my 3-wood was only 2 yards longer than my 5-
I find my 5-wood easier to hit and can hit it higher than my 3-, esp off the deck.
My golfing buddies struggle to hit their fairway woods (I know they grab their 3-)
Good stuff, Danny
Thanks Danny, always a legend!
Always appreciate your support Asad
I hit woods very well, it's getting out of them that's the problem !!!
Great vid as always Danny, I hope I get to have a lesson with you at some point in the future !
Thanks 👍 Wayne
Thanks again Danny
No problem Ronald 👍
I've always found that I can strike my woods much better than my irons, and it's only recently that I've been told that I have a metronome swing. I lack the body coil and drive down and through the ball you need with irons, but with woods/hybrids I can sweep the ball off the surface quite comfortably. I know my low point is always around 6 o'clock and my head at 12 o'clock. So as long as i position the ball correctly and put my club right behind the ball at 6 o'clock, where I'm taking it away is pretty much where my low point of my swing is and i get consistantly decent strikes because of it.
I've then adapted this to my driver by putting the ball half an inch or so forward in my stance. Same swing but now i'm hitting slightly up on the ball, but my low point is still rought at 6 o'clock.
What helped me also is to set up and hit my woods like an iron. Helped me get the feel of it and then moved the ball slightly to the left to eventually get there to hit up on it a bit
Another great video Danny the feet together drill give such great feedback. Assume it’s much the same for long irons. Could you do a video on those please
Well done Danny 👏 😊
Thank you! 😃 Roy
