something I have been working on lately is missing the jab and landing with the straight cross. This improved me in sparing a lot. I have been doing this because I noticed that a lot of people, especially beginners, just throw a jab and never follow through with their combos. I believe it's because when we train we are used to land the jab first on the mitts, pads, or bags. This gets people to be used never finishing a combo unless your first strike lands. I hope this advice helps someone like it helped me.
Shane, have you ever thought of coaching people in the ring? I think you have the makings of one of the greatest fight coaches of all time. I love your stuff.
Transitioning from a Muay Thai background to a straight boxing discipline my biggest struggle is getting creative with my strikes so this definitely helps a lot. Thanks boss
One of my favorites I've made goes as follows: *preferably after many low round house uses* left jab right cross low round house left jab/left jab feint right cross round house feint flying knee the knee is usually to catch somebody trying to check the kick, or if they start stumbling back.
Thanks for this Shane today I went to sparring and I have a lot of problems forming combos and right now my legs are destroyed, thanks for being a good instructor and always for making very good videos congrats Shane you always help me a lot (sorry for my bad English I'm from Mexico)
I've worked out on traditional heavy bags ruclips.net/user/postUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.
shane is honestly one of my idols . he's a great teacher and martial artist. these videos have helped me a lot and helped me feel safer in my home around my father when he's drunk. keep up the great videos shane.
Thanks, just ordered my first heavy bag off of Amazon because I want to get into MMA. Been watching your videos for a while but this one was very useful.
What a great explanation!! Everything you say is straight to the point. I believe this is your best video yet. Keep it up. Greetings from Czech republic!
Let me tell ya Shane, I am the 678,468,335th viewer and I would very much appreciate some sort of of recognition. I worked very hard to view this video, and I think that that's somethin reeeeeeeeal special and I need you to tell me I'm somethin special to feel that I'm indeed, special.
is it possible to be on an endless loop of combos because sometimes I just want to do that for 10 minutes straight especially when I'm stressed out from school lol
Nice and explosive,Shane. I think we would all love to see longer workout video on hevay bag. You going for 10-20 min. on heavy bag. Different combos, angles, working on speed, power. It would be awesome!
Thanks for another great video. I just subscribed to your channel, I've been training since I was in high school. ....along time ago. ...but continue to learn, especially from guys like you. Thanks again, keep up the great work.
man your videos are ace . I train in japanes jujitsu but I learn so so much from your videos and take it to where I train I really really want to subscribe but last time I subscribed to a channel I got fxxxxn bombarded with crap n It just did my head in . love ya vids all the way from the U.K 👊
Awesome video Shane! cool shirt, great techniques and thx for this upload brotha. your awesome! its an honor to be a student/Follower of your channel as well as twitter!
Whew! you shoved alot of info. in under 5 minutes man! That was fucking tight, you're starting to sound more & more like Duke Rufus. This is a sky high compliment you have earned, man. Love to see a striking demo on the bag with these principles, as Taff pointed out below. Thanks again, combined w/ the footwork drills vid. this is a fantastic boot camp.
Shane...I've trained MMA for awhile now, as well as a little kung fu & fought in the cage a few times. I've enjoyed it all, however I've noticed, most trainers will teach you to work your naturally dominant side, be it southpaw or orthodox. My opinion, you should train both sides equally so your prepared to attack or defend, even on your weaker side
Hey Shane. Love your stuff. Do you have any plans on making videos explaining how to combo into an effective takedown? Would love to learn more tips on how to mix things up.
1.switch LEFT-RIGHT
2.finish with kicks
3.change levels
4.fakes &feints
5.incorporate defense
Thanks man
Yea thanks

Robert Junior lol by the time you finish this the oponent is already home with his family
César Alves I use it primarily when people are on they're heels. It's still wip, but there's always room for improvement.

you wont be able to do it for ten minutes straight lmao

10 minutes straight would be incredible! No reason why you can't just keep going, though!
You're gonna gas out after 1 minute. 2 Minutes if you're really hyped up.
