Awesome video, thanks man. Helped me a lot, I was just about to tear out the glove box looking for that stupid ECM, But I thought u had to get the new junkyard ECM re flashed to your VIN or it wouldn't run? Did the Passkey relearn eliminate the need for that?
If you want the vin to match the vehicle it needs to be flashed but it wont change how it runs. That's for basically if you take it to a dealer for service or for recall purposes. And the pass key relearn just programs the key transponder with the code for the ECM's security system. Same as when you get a new key made.
Depends if it is new or used. New yes. If used depends if its programmed for the same engine/transmission combination your vehicle has and also if you want it to be programmed for your VIN. I swapped a used its alot cheaper
You can get a link cable and read the programming with universal patcher or lsdroid. Those are free apps. You can also reprogram it. But another way to tell is look under the vehicle you got it from. Awd wheel have a driveshaft going to the rear axle
I would have the BCM (body control module) scanned for a code. Then if no codes come up I would then try resetting it. And if still no difference it would be a issue with the gauge cluster then.
Thanks it’s really helpful I did it successfully can you assist me with a wiring diagram of the rendezvous cxl 2004. Thanks

So I have a question I had to get an new ECM for my 2006 pontiac grand prix gxp do I have to have the ECM programed

Ok thank you the one I have is new
Yw
Did everything got it to crank went up the road and it’s barely shifting out of first gear and then it’s not going back 35
And recommendations
Maybe different programmed shift points. Did you replace with the correct one? Is it awd or fwd?
@@GrimeTimeWithKennythat may be the problem now it’s saying awd disabled
@@GrimeTimeWithKennyhow can I tell none of the ones at the junkyard said awd or fwd in the vehicle itself

I've a rendezvous, the odometer shows the word error, and the gauges have no movements, what could be the root cause?

I have to replace the ECM on my 06 rendezvous. will this procedure work with just replacing the ECM and no transmission swap?
If you're swapping a used just make sure the donor vehicle is the same setup as yours. But if doing a new you'll have to program it.
@@GrimeTimeWithKenny setup as in drivetrain, trim, etc? Any other factors involved?
@@GrimeTimeWithKenny and by new, and programming, that meaning I would have to take it to a dealer?
Yea meaning there's no program at all. Also they have to register the vin too. But I didnt care about that so I just went used
Grabbed an ecm from a junkyard this morning, swapped it out, and the procedure worked perfectly! Thank you so much!
Remember to unhook the battery!!😂😂
Don't need to see you screwing every bolt in and out bro.....
