How do you set up the over the ear headset (connect the ear piece to it)?

I know this isn't the first time this question has been asked someplace, but is there any cure for the delay when you pickup from the headset? i just tried switching to wideband, and that does not seem to make a difference.

Wideband has to do with audio quality, so that shouldn't factor in with any delays. Call Poly support and 1-888-248-4143 and see if it's an issue with your headset or a firmware setting within your phone.

On older phones this will be the case and you may need a lifter (www.headsetsdirect.com/product/plantronics-hl10-handset-lifter-straight-plug/). Newer phones will have a headset port to plug into and a button on the phone to trigger calls with.

Normally this unit is made for corded desk phones. To use it with your PC, you would disconnect it from your desk phone and use an APU-75 cable, which plugs into a USB port:

can I connect it to an ip phone? the headset is the same as that of an analog phone, is not it?

It's compatible with most desk phones (analog, digital, IP) that have an RJ9 headset port or traditional corded handset (also RJ9)

Headset will not beep to let me know there is an incoming call when I'm away from my desk and wearing the headset. What do I need to do?

It may be you need an external ring detector for your particular phone.

I have this mic along with a lifter but I still need to press the mic button on the phone for it to connect to my headset. Is this normal?

When you get to step 3, use Option C for lifter use.

Start with 'A' which is the most common. If it doesn't sound right, slide to the next setting. Continue down each setting until you find the one that sounds the best.

Most likely the settings needsto be changed on the bottom of the base. 'A' is the most common for compatibility. The dial labeled 1-6 is your outgoing microphone volume that may need to be turned up.
