Ive had one of these for over 20 years and just recently dug it back out. The "pour out water" is super food for your other food plants so don't pour it down the drain. A windowsill helps them grow fast. A vinegar rinse before you refrigerate your 'Ready to eat sprouts" will help them keep from getting moldy. I numbered the trays so i could track the rotation turns. Grow man grow !

tysm for making this video!!! so helpful! i like the trays from true leaf better. less prone to mold and you can sprout a lot more xo

The bottom container can only hold 2 cups, so if you're leaking water, try using less water and dump out the water after they've drained.

I can’t wait to see how they grow!!! I eat sprouts every day! I should totally grow my own!

Just got mine today. I think I'll try putting a pie baking dish under it for whenever I need to move it. I'm focused on broccoli sprouts to get the most sulphoraphane to kill cancer cells. Best wishes and happy sprouting! 🍃

Thanks a great info packed video. 👍 I just ordered 2 of these and I hate directions so much, myself. I put it together without and then thought, I better find a video of this thing in action before I mess it up. I’m such a visual learner too. Thanks again!

Awesome, I need to buy this and try to grow my own, I love broccoli sprouts, and every time I go to Whole Foods, they are sold out and a small container is $6.00.

Yea they are much cheaper to make at home!

Do it over the sink. Put a little vinegar in your water and they won't mold

Maybe a large metal bowl might work so it doesn't drip or a fudge pan. Nice video!

The sunflower sprouts really need to be planted in a medium. Ironically I’m just getting ready to upload my step-by-step how to video over the course of 10 days from start to finish on growing sunflower sprouts. I’ve been doing it inside my kitchen near a sunny window. I’ve never tried the pea sprouts, so that seems really cool.

      Awesome!
I put the pea sprouts in my ramen the other day. Not bad! Haha 🌱

oooh, pea sprouts make a great, super crunchy snack too, not just in a salad or wrap. Sprinkle with some Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning and eat'em up !

That was a great review. Thanks for sharing. I’ve seen these online before haven’t purchased one because I’m not sure it would fit in my fridge lol 😆 I think I’ll stick to sprouting in jars until I find something else.

I love this! Thankyou for reviewing, it's so cool!
With the exception of the water leak, it seems worth it to just put a towel under.
🥦 Sprouts would be awesome to grow 😍🌻🦋

I have trouble following any directions having to do with food...and recipes. lol. You have come up with some great ideas by going "off book"!

True! Some of my best meals are when following my gut and not a recipe! 😁 Probably why I like cooking so much. Hehe

Mines working out okay I think they want you to use way to much water, and once they start growing you need to kind of spread them out on saucepans and let them grow. Good for things that don't need a growing medium.

Getting better with it, got some good veg mix going that I started in a little bit of soil. Waited the germinating seeds down like the pros do and they are a lot better looking.
I share some pictures but I don't know how to do that.
But I'm moving up to the 10x20 trays.

I have one of these and every batch, no matter what I try, has molded. I usually have no problems with other sprouted and have a green thumb, so I’m just at a loss.

That sucks 😓 sorry to hear that.
I went back to using my sprouting jars. I just don’t eat that many sprouts like I should..

Looks like fun. I have never had split pea soup. Now I can't get veruca salt's song out of my head, lol

Are you still happy w/ your sprouter? How much seed do (other viewers please weigh/chime in!) you put in each tray max now? I've heard as little as 1/2 t. for small seeds and as much as 2 Tablespoons or more.

    • @TeamBroccoli
      @TeamBroccoli  2 года назад

I haven’t used it in awhile to be honest. I like the jar method better.

LOL! I see you made the same mistake that everyone else made with this system. Everyone forgets that you are supposed to empty the bottom reservoir every time you add new water to the top so that it doesn't spill all over the place. It's been 2 years since you released this video, so I'm sure you figured that out by now. This comment is just in case someone is reading this in 2023. 😃
