    You're right about the Eagle 1 presentation, they all feature the same blue bottle, hard to differentiate the product and Walmart sort of stacks them together making it even harder to find.

      They read differently on the bottle, so if you can read, then you will get the right Eagle One.

    I think it would have been interesting if on the second test you switched sides that you sprayed the product on. This way, if Meguiar's reacts on the Eagle One side, we see Meguiar's was able to pick up iron that the Eagle One missed and vice-versa.

    I have used both products, and while they both perform well, I now only use the Eagle One strictly due to cost. My local Walmarts usually sell it for just $4.44 per bottle compared to about $9.00 for the Meg's. My Z06 Corvette has Wilwood brakes with aggressive pads, and they dust just by looking at them. I use quite a bit of iron remover, so Eagle One fits my needs! My daily driver is a pearl white Infiniti G37X, and I notice a few new orange iron spots on the white paint every week or so. The Eagle One takes care of those for me, too. Great video, as always, Jimbo!

    Bilt Hamber Korrosol is outstanding as a iron remover. They have a wheel cleaner too that is about the same strenghts as Korrosol actually.
    I don't look after how fast they react. As some can react as soon as it's in the air before hitting the paint even. That's not a tell of how good it is. That's when you use the PW and only need one go with the iron remover on a heavy iron particals and you get it off. Rarely I need to be doing a second application with the Korrosol and Carpro IronX. And I do a test spot after the first application on the biggest iron particals I saw on the first application. To see if I got it off or not.
    The important thing with iron removers is to let them dwell as long as possible before you clean rinsing it off with a PW. Don't let them dry on you though. I have a pump pressure spray bottle with water to not let it to dry. On a fine mist setting on it so the most of the iron remover is left.
    Sonax has released an even more stronger than the Plus wheel cleaner that's called Sonax Wheel Cleaner Max Effect. And is in a blue bottle. As with some brands this is the EU version. And don't know when it's released in the US. They also released Sonax Rust Remover late last year I think which also is quite good. But BH Korrosol is my go to iron remover as it just works. In the US look up HS-tuning to get the Bilt Hamber products. And get the Auto-Foam and Surfex HD if you buy something from them. The products I have used so far from BH has been top notch. Envy the guys and gals in the UK which gets BH and Angelwax products dirt cheap there.

    I have used iron X, and bought the Meguiar’s Detailer iron remover and it’s so much better for a decent price. I got it for $65.99 on sale for a gallon. $0.51 isn’t too bad for the results. The eagle one will be one I go for if I run out in an emergency.

    I've used Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus (or Full Effect) for a few years now. For rims and paint. Happy with it. I even add 25% water for better spray pattern and it still clings and works well. And it's half the price of Iron X. That's important, when it's used like there's a hole in the bottle, app 250 ml/8 oz for just the sides and rear of a car, PLUS the rims!

I couldnt understand the rust color freckles all over the car that would not rub out. I used the Eagle 1 and BAM! my cars paint was beautiful again and 95% of the spots were gone with just 1 applicqtion. Thank you so much!

  • @derekmunro5100

    For everyone who likes products in gallon form here's my math for the whole thing. Eagle One is about $26 per gal, Meguiars about $60 per gal and "professional" Iron X is $99 per gal. However even though the first two can be sprayed on paint I would do a test spot prior to use.

    • @flemmingjensen3202
      @flemmingjensen3202 5 лет назад

      There really is no problem in using a bleeding product for both. Most rims are clear coated like most painted panels. So, you're pretty much dealing with clear plastics in both cases. :)

    Eagle one is terrible. There is a clear difference between iron X and other iron removers. I will never buy eagle one again. I bought two bottles and after using it in a third car I can honestly say there is a reason it is 6 bucks. I can’t speak for megs wheel cleaner.

    • @autodetailingpodcast
      @autodetailingpodcast  5 лет назад +1

      Interesting..what happened?

    • @barrycook8116
      @barrycook8116 5 лет назад +1

      It made more rust in rotors and I had to use iron x to take some of it off. It dries super fast on the paint and left a haze only after like 30 seconds on the car even in the shade. I am in Florida but no product should do that. I have iron x and it can go 5-7 mins working time. Iron x is much thicker and sticks to the rims to pull the brake dust off. When you get cars like BMW or Audi where the brake dust is crazy it clings to it much better than eagle one. I would much rather pay like 14 more dollars with discounts than buy a product that you can tell after using it multiple times that there is a reason it’s 6 bucks. Yes iron x might be 25 but I usually pay around 15-18 depending I the current discounts as well as If you buy the 5 liter, the cost also comes down even more. I use a couple iron removers but I am giving an example of iron x because when you have a wholesale account then you get things much cheaper than what amazon would sell them for or even on Autogeek 25% the price comes down a lot. Those are just examples.

      You can do both. Wet or dry, rinse or agitate. Of course the water will dilute the product a little, and the agitation adds a slight risk of scratching, but may be worth it if the paint doesn't need claying.
      My usual procedure:
      I wash the car,
      rinse,
      spray iron remover,
      may agitate,
      rinse,
      remove tar,
      rinse thoroughly,

      rinse,

    Anyone else noticing Eagle One is very scarce and a lot of places aren’t carrying them?

    after using foam vs more runny soak. I rather have runny, seems to me the runny will get under the dirt better than a foam.

      One thing I do is use 3Ds super wheel cleaner combined with an iron removed. Far as tire cleaning I use a mild degreaser. I would like to try Meg's Iron Decon after hearing their claim of 15 seconds it is ready to rinse off vs others saying 3 to 5 minutes.

    Thank you for the video. QQ, I have painted the wheels of my car and covered with a matte clear coat. The wheel feel a bit porous. So, after a weekend on the track the brake dust is well into the wheel. I have used Meguiars professional with agitation and it was like water, nothing. Yesterday I got the Sonal Wheel Cleaner Full and it did a great job, but the front wheels still have a good amount of brake dust in them...any suggestions? Clay bar? Thank you.

    I go with the Meguiar's. I like that it clings since wheels are vertical and it gets the job done. It makes my wheel cleaning touchless and I don't have to worry about swirling my gloss black wheels. Plus, I get a discount at Walmart so the price isn't so bad.

    I have a good one for you why don’t you put seal and shine versus chemical guys activate spray sealant.Both very similar products. And they are not crazy overpriced obviously we know how much turtle wax is and chemical guys is about $25 which still is not bad at all if it works.

    Hello, i used by mistake in a self wash the wheel foam on my car paint ...but i rince it a few minutes later....do You think it damaged my paint?

    • @autodetailingpodcast
      @autodetailingpodcast  3 года назад +1

      It shouldn't...unless you were in direct sun or the paint was hot.

      @@autodetailingpodcast Thank you for reply, no, it was in shade and i rinsed the car twice, plus that i always use ceramic wax after each wash.... so i think the paint had some protection:)))

    Jimbo,
    What about putting the Eagle One in an iK Foaming Sprayer? That might get the clinging action. Just a thought.
    Keep them coming brother. Always fun to watch.

    Well I just tried the Meguairs for hard water spots on my black truck and it didn't work. That was a waste of $13. Guess I'll have to compound it.

    what's the point of iron remover? doesn't claybar or polishing do the same thing?

    • @autodetailingpodcast
      @autodetailingpodcast  5 лет назад +1

      It can make the coating process faster and easier

    • @jsonlee01
      @jsonlee01 5 лет назад +2

      As someone explained it, claying and polishing will shear off the top layers of embedded contaminants while the iron remover will “dissolve” the ferrous contaminants that have embedded themselves into the paint.
