  • Thanks to Scott from Dallas Paint Correction, I found out about an AUTOZONE product that costs just $5.99 for 32 ounces. Yep, that means a gallon is just about $24. Does it work well as an iron remover? In this video, I test Eagle One side by side with Iron X. Check it out and let me know what you think!

    For 5,99$ Eager One is definitely water down iron remover. in fact u can see its very watery and runny where Iron-ex is a gel that cling to the paint. I am sure both will get the job done, but iron-ex is stronger and can get the job done faster.
    other detailer are using Meguiar all wheel cleaner for iron remove. It cling to paint and is very potent. It is twice as expensive as eager one at $10 but it is very potent and can get the job done twice as fast.

      I agree that iron movers made for wheels should be more clingy and gel like consistency but Iron removers for paint shouldn't have a thick consistency. They should be more runny because if you have a thick like consistency iron remover and use it on the paint you're gonna use a whole 32 oz bottle on the car... lol

    I know what it's like to try to squeeze washes in on the rare winter days above freezing. What I did was bought a cheapo 50 foot hose from Walmart for 8 bucks and a 150 foot extension cord reel. Funny to see someone else using Eagle 1 as a lube for their clay towel. That's how I've been using it and it definitely makes it a heck of a lot easier. And while I don't think it works as good as Iron X or the other higher priced iron removers, it works good enough especially knowing that it's less than $5 a bottle at the local Wally World.

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  4 года назад +2

      Eagle one smells worse than iron x. My preferred steps: pre treat panel with APC (ALL PURPOSE CLEANER)--dont do this in direct sunlight, and if so rinse quickly. Then a contact wash, I prefer a rinseless wash but soap is fine. With residue from soap or your rinseless wash still on panel, spray with iron x, let dwell for about a minute. Then start using iron x or iron remover of choice as your clay "lube." Rinse then apply your sealant or wax. Thank me later:)

    • @tundrawhisperer4821

      Hawk Pro Detailing got it, but are you just working one panel at a time doing all of these steps? They always say with these rinse-less washes that you need to dry each panel as you go. Is that really necessary?

      depends how acidic it is, I've had experience with KochChemie Flugenrost Entferner which is pH 0,0 (measured in lab was 1,6pH) and it literally etched into one of the mirror plastics... All other plastics were fine, so i had to sand/polish it.
      I would definetley say, test and test again... The salesman who sold me 12 litres of that concentrate didnt mention anything, even though i asked all those questions, douchebag...

    Do we even need an iron remover if we clay? Wish you would have added another test to clay one panel first, then apply an iron remover and compare it to another panel that only has an iron remover applied (without claying beforehand). I wonder if the iron remover is a waste of time and money if we going to clay.

    • @FABAutomotiveDetailing

      John Yes you need the Iron Remover then clay. Iron remover removes the embedded contaminants. Clay can only remove the contaminants stuck on top of the paint.

    • @HawkProDetailing
      @HawkProDetailing  5 лет назад

      +John out of direct sunlight, i like to let iron x dwell on panel. Wait til you see a significant amount of purple streaking. Then, before it dries on paint, use that same product (iron x or whatever) ad your clay lube. Clay removes some of what the iron x won’t - together, it’s an unstoppable combo💪
