    Great video - thanks for helping to educate and show how those products can be used. I would add a touch of clarity though - while many iron removers on the market aren’t really meant to be wheel cleaners, D1801 was actually built from day one to be BOTH a true wheel cleaner AND an iron remover for paint.

    Phil, great minds think alike. Meg's Wheel and Paint and Wheel Iron Decon is my favorite...the bomb, of the three I tried (Carpro and Ferrex being the other two), imo Meg's the most effective, it seems to cling noticibly more, also it does have some have a cleaning package (greaser, grime remover) with some lubricity, so it's safe to agitate with a mitt on paint a washed car, and it does help. Because of the cleaning package it can degrade a wax or sealant, though we are deconing for a reason, we're looking for a fresh start. I'll email you some really good info from Meguiar's on this stuff. Great Choice!
    Great advice on using the Hyper dressing full strenthgth, loved your results, is it better on longevity? For a quick engine detail I spray the engine with Superior rage 4:1, go over it quickly with a wheel face brush, ez detail brush, boars hair brush, rinse, dry quickly, start the car, let the engine heat dry the rest, spray Hyper dressing 4:1, and leave it, it'll self level. I don't call this a full engine detail, it's sonething you could over deliver for a good customer (it takes 10 minutes), or charge for a basic, engine cleaning (i do not refer to it as a detail), addionally I use the Hyper dressing on 4:1 on truck bed liners, again spray on, let it self level.
    P.S. I'm with you on the dedicated bottles and or lables, I have a strip lable maker, I like to keep things neat, and coor code the dilution ratio with colored strip lables for multiple dilutions of the same product, though it's tedious to make them.

    • @fpswick8458
      @fpswick8458 4 года назад +4

      Not the same, the strict wheel cleaner is gel and you don't want that on paint. Its just going to stay in a spot and not saturate the whole panel. This wheel&paint has less viscosity making it more viable and cost efficient on paint.

    • @MarkusKleis
      @MarkusKleis 4 года назад +4

      Hey Carlos, although UAWC and D1801 both change colors, they are actually very different chemistries - much more so than you would think. We actually use more aggressive (faster) cleaners in D1801, and it boasts about 30-40% more cleaning power. It also spreads better on paint. Hope that helps. -Markus, Meguiar’s Professional Product Manager

    Great video! I’ve been using the meguiars pro line for years and can’t beat the cost and efficiency with the bottles. A few thoughts on some of these products - I love super degreaser for the tires over the citrus APC (I also use that for my ore soak on the vehicle) and the iron decon is the most cost effective iron remover out there (especially through Autoality). It does smell the worst though, ESPECIALLY later on in the detail - it seems to linger so if you’re working indoors on the vehicle you’ll get some funky scents!

      HsTuning dot com has some Bilt Hamber products available in the US. The shipping seems to be a little high though on what I heard.
      And honestly if you want to try out products that are really great. Then at least try them out. Surfex HD is an awesome APC and you can dilute it very weak and it's still effective to desolve the oily grime. On the exterior for an example 1:20 as a TFR in the winter time and with a pump pressure spray bottle it's fast to apply. During the summer months I dilute it to 1:40 when you have some pollen and light road film after a rain. With a PW to clean with it's a really effective aid and most of the time you can do a touchless wash with it. Bugs and depending how hard they are in your environment to get off. Pretreat with Surfex HD in 1:10-1-20 and the bug squash just rinses off easy. For interior I dilute it to 1:30. But you can dilute it to 1:50 if you clean a well maintained vehical interior. Their clay bar is awesome and have the same aggressiveness and you chose in which temperature you claying in. The soft clay bar is awesome in the lower temperature. They claim that water is the only clay lube you need. But I still use a clay lube and it's up on par with the 3M Perfect It Clay Bar and Meguiars Proffessional Red Clay Bar and still it's very gentle on the paint if you use it right. Auto-Wheel and Korrosol which is their iron remover on the paint and has about the same strength in the iron remover ability and AW has some extra cleaning detergents for a very effective wheel cleaner. Also mostly touchless with a PW. And then you have the Auto-Foam which is the best prewash foam out there IMO. It's design to be foamed on and let it dwell and PW clean rinsing it off from the bottom and up. Not made for contact wash though as there you have the Auto-Wash car soap. Auto-Wash has a dilution of 1:1900 and a huge benefit is that it has rust inhibitors in it as the Surfex HD and I think that also Auto-Foam has a little of them as well. I use it in the wheel bucket and if you have a neglected condition of the paint with some rust and or rock chips through the primer. You don't get the rust to spread and you also get almost no rust on the brake discs. And is awesome combo of starting with the Surfex HD and finish with the Auto-Wash on the undercarriages. If you want to stop the rusting even more for a longer while and it also has a great filling ability then you have the Auto-Balm synthetic wax. 5-6 months longevity from it and is great on bare metalls on the undercarriages and also in the wheel wells and especially the edge to the fender if you drive on road salted roads. And make Car Supply to get Bilt Hamber in their webshop and they will get a huge success with it. In most comparison testes here in EU if a Bilt Hamber product is in it it will be placed in the top spot or top 3. They don't do any advertising as the mouth to mouth rumor is enough. Then it's getting a higher price outside of UK but I personally don't care as they are that good. Bilt Hamber fanboy here LOL. The products I have from them have been just awesome so hard to not be it. But they have some ranges of products where they don't fit as their line up is not so wide as I like but you can only use them alone if you want to. No fun in that. They also have dedicated undercarriage products that also says to be awesome for deep cleaning off rust and durable protection products for these parts.

      Korrosol is another fallout remover they do. I have both. I think the difference is Auto-wheel has built-in corrosion inhibitor to remove flash-corrosion on brake discs. They both act very fast, cling hard and dissolve everything. Very effective products, not cheap though. I highly recommend both products.

      Well if you are just looking for gloss enhancement I great polish to use would be an all in one like 3DSpeed and top it with some sort of spray sealant like like or even spray coating like the Hybrid Solutions line or The Last Coat sealants.

      You can apply by hand but you want get the same effect. You can start with a smaller polisher like this and get awesome results. amzn.to/3d6tSXh and these pads amzn.to/390CvRF

    Hey Phil, how would you say this compares to other iron removers? I have a gallon of it that I haven't touched yet because of the weather. I've used Iron X before and have heard great things about FerreX. Just wondering if this is on par with all the others.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 года назад

      I think they all work about the same. Some are more concentrated then others. But I have been told that this Wheel and paint decon is formulated to also be a cleaner, so more then just an iron remover.

      I don't use iron x or ferrex due to the cost. Just use the decon or meguiars all wheel cleaner. It removes iron as well

    Is iron decon safe on brake calipers? Will it ruin the calipers?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 года назад +1

      Hi. Yes it is safe. Just rinse it away thoroughly. You don’t need to use it every time you wash the vehicle. Just when the wheels get really bad.

    is it good to iron decon every car?? Or is it bad ???

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 года назад

      It all depends on how bad the vehicle is. I don’t use it on every vehicle just because, I only use it if I notice small orange rust bits on the paint.

    can i mix iron decon with soap for the foam cannon?

    • @MirandaDetailing

      I dont think its really intended for that usage....it may neurtralize the iron dissolving chemicals in the Iron decon product. you could try it though and see if it makes a difference. IronX does make a soap version though, bit.ly/2Flh8PD

      Hi. Thanks. Well I guess it depends on how bad it is. One 32oz can do maybe 4-5 cars or more.
