      Granted, sure it is the best, but does everyone that owns a mobile detail can afford all those products? I don’t, I only use one wax , soap, a cheap degreaser mixed with air freshener and water , armor all and glass cleaner . I have very satisfied customers

      Exactly. I’m just demonstrating how to do certain things with different products. You don’t have to get the ones I’m showing, you can use whatever works for you. You can totally detail with simply and effective products. I like to show different methods and products so people can make their own choices. Wether they like to get higher end products or not it doesn’t matter. Use what works for you. We started on a budget and 10 years later we slowly upgraded to using other products.😎👍🏼

      Well I’ve had it mar up paint before. But deep scratching shouldn’t occur if your Lee wash stage is thorough like ours. Before any contact on the paint it must be rinsed and APC rinsed a best as possible. I’ve never had any issues with this process. But it does take some time to learn to be thorough. 😎👍🏼

    Thanks Phil! Yes it's critical to rub/scrub/agitate the pillars, window rubber seals and all those areas, otherwise when you dry those surfaces, your drying towel picks up black grime from dirty greasy rubber and that's not fun to see or clean off the drying towel.

    • @Coderedpirate
      @Coderedpirate 2 года назад +1

      One of, if not, the only caveat to the two bucket method is that the “rinse” bucket becomes dirty after the first dunk. I was a bit skeptical too, but you simply have to wring out your mitt before refunding it into your clean soap bucket. Despite your rinse bucket looking absolutely filthy, you’ll find that your soap bucket is still clean

It foams the mitt and I do a panel. Flip and continue. Than just hose the mitt off to clean it, a couple of pumps of the sprayer than I repeat. I find that works fast too. Especially in direct sunlight when I can work a panel at a time. Just a thought. It may give U an idea.

    I recently discovered your channel and your quickly becoming my favorite detailing channel!!! I'm a diy weekend warrior and looking to learn more to up my game. Many channels push products to make money. Im a minimalist and hate needing so much equipment and different products, cleaners, supplies, ect ... Too easy to fall into a rabbit hole always looking for the next best thing. I plea with you to come out with more beginner simplistic videos that you give advice on what minimal equipment and specific methods and supplies you need to improve car detailing 90% better than the average person. I'm trying to create a car care routine that I can implement and use on a regular basis without constantly seeking out new improved methods and products. I'm looking for a tried and true simple quick and effective routine I can use for years to come. I really like the idea of doing a monthly maintenance wash, starting with a wash using a traffic film remover or best method to strip old wax/grease/film, followed by drying (not sure if towel vs leaf blower is faster as I'd prefer using just one method), followed by a wax and grease remover like duplicolor, followed by some type of paint sealant. My thought is to strip all wax each time I wash the car and then just apply a fresh coat of paint sealant after each wash. If I perform this routine 30 days I can have max protection and avoid needing frequent paint corrections. I figured doing a light clay with light polish correction once per year. What's your thoughts on this method and and suggestions would earn a long term new supporter!!!! Thank you!

    Then liquid quick wax, pick the one you like.

    Hey this was very helpful. Few questions
    1. How long does the ceramic coating last, and whats the benefit other than water beading?
    2. Will the polishing help with light scratches, and do u ceramic coat the entire car?
    3. In the beginning stages of the degreaser is that just applied onto really dirty portions and wiped with clay mitt/bar or thr entire car?
    Thanks for the video

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 года назад +3

      Hi.
      1. A true ceramic coating last years instead of months and makes the cleaning process much faster and easier.
      2. Yes if we polish with a medium pad and polish it will reduce minor swirls and scratches and gloss up the paint. Yes when we ceramic coat a car it’s applied to all paint, the we have separate coatings for plastic trim and glass.
      3. We degrease all the bottom portions and if necessary the tops of the vehicle also. Then we rinse it off to remove even more grime and traffic film. Then we wash and then clay mitt or clay-bar after or during the wash process.

    • @darianhale6579
      @darianhale6579 3 года назад +1

      @@MirandaDetailing sorry for all the questions. So the meguiars ceramic coating that you used was it applied on the whole vehichle? Was that considered the polishing phase? And how long will that protect that exact vehicle shown in the video?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 года назад +1

      No prob.
      Oh the meguiars Ceramic wax is very easy to use. It can applied to paint plastic and glass. So yes the entire vehicle. It can protect 3-4 months depending on how you maintain it. You can even apply it after every wash and keep it topped off and protected.

      @@MirandaDetailing thanks this helps a bunch. Ibe been trying to figure out this whole buffing, waxing, and polishing, its been all so confusing on what does what, what comes first.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 года назад +2

      You’re welcome.
      So when “buffing” is what we cal compounding. That is usually the first step in removing swirls and scratches. It’s using an aggressive compound and pad combo with a polisher. Then polishing is the the refining step to remove any left over marring left from the compounding stage. Then your protection in the form of wax, sealant, or coatings is the last step.

    Hey Phil...Another great video with lots of great info and tips/tricks! Couple of questions that I’d like to get your thoughts on....When you’re doing an initial inspection of the vehicle and come across old harden (or white faded) wax either on rubber pieces or between plastic pieces what’s your thinking/planning to address? Do you suggest just using an APC on those areas and work it in with a detail brush? And if so, do you do that before, during or after the initial foaming? My thoughts are initial rinse, APC with a detail brush, rinse, then foam. But (other than time/effort) I’m not sure if that’s the right time/spot to address those areas or if it should be done as part of the foaming? I think that if you do it as part of foam (and no APC) then those built up areas (or white on rubber) don’t actually come off by the “normal” detail brushes in the tight areas that a mitt/sponge can’t get into. Any thoughts for someone who does overthink things too much?! 🙂. Again, great video - I love how much effort you put into them and how much you try to help other learn/understand!!! Thanks, John

      Thanks! Yeah old wax residue I usually attack after the wash since it’s hard to see with the soap. I usually use IPA and a stiffer brush or the edge of a towel to remove that stubborn wax build up. Sometimes a toothpick and the towel helps also.

      Actually we did wash it again and the wheels did ok, granted it’s no true ceramic coating so the beading definitely dropped down on the wheels due to excessive heat and such. Phil, I am a non professional detailer, but I use Optimum No Rinse (ONR) for my maintenance washes. It saves time, money & water. I can wash about 10 cars with a gallon of mixture. I would think for mobile detailers, ONR would be a staple in your business?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 года назад +1

      Hi. I totally use ONR all the time, but more for glass cleaning and coating when needed. But we really don’t use it for rinseless washing. The vehicles we do are way to dirty for that. But I have also been using American Detailing Garages Wipe Out which is basically the same but better in my opinion.
