This is truly a Golden Age, if this truck is considered "great but I'll wait for ....". If we travelled back to 1950s/60s/70s, this thing would blow their minds.
You’re totally right. We have access to (and can drive on the same roads!) everything from self-navigating electric cars to 100 year old Model T’s, to high performance V8 trucks, insane supercars and everything in between. These are the good old days.
If you traveled back to the 90s and early 2000s it would blow peoples minds. We ( myself very much included) have become spoiled in the latest horsepower wars. Brands are constantly outdoing each other. With that being said I’m gonna wait until TRX prices come out of the stratosphere’s to buy.
Ngl, even a 1000hp Raptor will never be cooler than the T-Rex eating a raptor graphic on the TRX🤣🤣. The person who came up with that idea deserves their name in the automobile Hall of Fame.
It’s kinda corny.. like when the lesser brand tries looking cool by attacking the better brand in a commercial. Everyone knows that just makes the lesser brand look even worse.
Mine was built yesterday, just waiting on shipping. I got the 35 inch package, 37’s have limited up travel on this truck, defeats the main purpose of getting all the performance out of this truck. But to each their own. Can’t wait! You can easily see that it’s a gen 3. The front looks absolutely nothing like the gen 2. What are you talking about “it looks the same”?
I would use that fold down area on the Center Council as a table for eating. How many times have you tried to eat in the vehicle and you end up with it in your lap?
It would probably be used a lot.more for that then using it to write on a job site like doug and the ford ads say you would. Nobody is bringing a $100,000 raptor to a job site
20:22 the engine has raptor fans disappointed??? Who did you get that from? I love my 20MPG’s in an off-road 450HP truck. With gas a $5 per gallon, I couldn’t enjoy driving the 8MPG TRX.
He's talking about the fans who constantly want every truck year to be a one-up of the truck "rivals" models. There is quite a large amount of people who have those expectations. (I'm not one of them) The TRX IS very impressive from performance but not anything regarding MPG.
I was 10 when the raptor came out and since then I’ve wanted one. I wanted one so bad I bought an f150 as my first car just because it’s all I could imagine my self driving. The goal is to make this f150 last till I can afford the payment. That being said. It doesn’t have the presence of that damn TRX still but my money would get the raptor.
You know that companies like Camburg have made long-travel suspension long before the Raptor was even a dream of Ford, right? You can add prerunner fenders (or raptor fenders) in the front with a long travel suspension kit, some bypass shocks in the rear with shackles and longer travel leafs, and you'll have exactly what inspired the creation of the Raptor: which were baja and prerunner trucks.

@Richard Navra’til, and it brings me to the point. 15 mpg in the turbo V6 vs like 13 in the naturally aspirated V8 is barely any different, and the straight V8 would probably last 400,000 miles, vs the Ecoboost wouldn’t last that long. I would take reliability over losing a few miles per gallon. I know some of you guys don’t care about reliability, but I do. Just the fuel economy improvement is a joke. The lights on the fenders are part of the mandated lights for over width vehicles. The 3 dots in the middle indicate a wide vehicle while the outside dots indicate the outside width. Semi trucks usually put them all on the roof for the ambers up front. The previous two generation Raptors also had all 5 lights in the front and rear. You will see them on the back of trailers that are wide as well, like camping trailers.
The fact you can buy a Baja/Pre Running truck from Ford with a warranty is still mind-blowing to think. To everyone saying it is overpriced, go build your own Baja/Pre Running truck, and then you will see the price is actually very very reasonable. Side note: to anyone thinking I could build one in my garage cheaper, think about the investment in jacks, lifts, welding, pipe benders, custom part fabrication, ETC. Now if you have all that gear and experience then awesome, but for the 99% of the rest of the population, this is one hell of a deal.
And think, if you have all of that stuff, you can make a sweet deal even sweeter after the warranty expires. Just go to work on a vehicle that's already ready to go. Make it better for cheaper than you would a Tacoma or Beetle.
Not to mention you obviously lose a warranty, your creation will be nowhere near as reliable or durable, and it will be worse to live with on a daily basis.

Ford has had the man step in their beds for almost 10 years now. GM and Ram kinda made fun of it for like 2-3 years but now they all have some sort of funky tailgate options. GMC especially. Some sort of step is definitely necessary these days with trucks being so dang high from the factory.

@Gray Plays never did i think I'd see a fucking GrayStillPlays bot
TRX,T-rex eats raptors. Ford didn't respond to the TRX in any way. Why shouldn't he compare them in the title? The TRX was a literal jab against the Raptor and it succeeded.
I think you're right. The only other title I can think of was when he referred to the Continental SS a "Bentley Hellcat". But that's obviously just a point of reference, not a comparison
I'll take that Raptor ANYDAY~~~ Awesome truck! Glad it is not a "trx"
Doug actually sounds a little like Jay Leno. His vocal tamber, speech, slight Leno style accent. Just rings of Leno to me. It's wild. Must be a California car thing!
I've been told he is actually RELATED to Leno on some basis! i.e. Nth uncle removed or something!
v
He isn’t from California...
@@StarGateSG7 no he isn’t.
@@pinut187 Well.... there IS a way TO PROVE IT ABSOLUTELY !!! --- I just need a hair or spit sample from both and I could have my suspected result in less than four hours!
I am PRETTY SURE that Jay Leno and Doug Demuro ARE genetically related!
I just don't know HOW though!
v
Really it’s already been a decade, damm time flies. It feels like the raptor barely came out a year ago
That tailgate step is state of the art!!
It's really impressive that the 120V plug up front can do 20 amps ( *2,400 watts!* ) Most of those style plugs you see in vehicles are rated for much less, often only a couple of amps or a few hundred watts.
Look at Doug, jamming out to Fat Joe.
Joe: "Turn the fckin mic on!"
Doug: "Only after you visit my new website, Joe."
turn the fckin mic on, then we'll negotiate terms 🎙
THISSSS, IS FAT JOE, AND TODAY WE ARE GONNA LISTEN TO HIM
The biggest part about it is the 5-link suspension in the rear. No more leaf springs. I’m surprised you didn’t mention it
20:00 Please tell me Doug realizes it's for all the Texans and other gun-loving truck owners to lock their weapons... Come on Doug, this ain't hard to research. :)
Yup. Or any state that issues CC for that matter.

if he mentions those words he might get some kind of flag from youtube.. a lot of reviewers tend to neglect talking about that ..
@@yungboicontigo9278 you sound unnecessarily angry. Dude wasn’t even hating lol
Pretty sure Ford wouldn’t say it, but that hidden 2nd glove box is the gun compartment.
One quirk on the outlet in the back seat is that it is 20 amps which is pretty amazing and backs up the earlier claim about being good for a job site.
Fiat/Chrysler has literally made 450hp seem inadequate these days lol
That's Mopar for you lol. Dodge had always been known for dropping unnecessary, but necessary, performance in their cars. Fucking love it
My old 2008 Denali was pushing over 400hp and I paid like 27k for it. I cant imagine spending 70k to get a boosted v6.
But doesn't matter much cause they use outdated chassis that weigh more than a semi and can't turn for shit
This ain’t no regular f150 this a fucking raptor
No capper, street n*gga not a rapper
You should do a review on a 2016 shelby F-150 700HP you’ve done most F-159 but this one
As a Raptor enthusiast, I was honestly disappointed by the new styling, it doesn't look nearly as aggressive as the Gen 2 although the interior is a great refresh. The stickers are stupid and they should have made the blue interior an option with the 37 package. They honestly should've just said the hell with the v6 and went straight to the V8 imo.
