As a Chevy Silverado owner, I must say, the new Ford’s are starting to become more and more desirable for me. The new Chevy’s haven’t grown on me, they’ve just gotten uglier.
I understand. I am a Chevy guy too and bought one of the last Silverado LD's because I can't stand the new body style. The RAM looks good too...but...it's a FCA product. You just know it will leave you pissed off after 60,000 miles. The F150 has looked good for many years but damn, the history of engine, transmission and computer/software issues scares me. I picked the LD because it still looked good and the 5.3 is a hell of a good engine. It also has the 6 speed which has a much better track record.
Yeah I’m a ford guy and I like Chevy but the new ones are just 🤢
@@matt9c1 Absolutely man. I love the new Ram’s. They’re by far the best looking imo and they have the nicest interiors but there is definitely some worry about reliability. You’ll be on the road longer than the buyers of the new silverados. you made a good decision. my next truck is definitely going to be a 2016 or 17 Silverado HC.
Go check out the new Rams

"King Ranch" ... because, "Urban Cowboy" seemed too on the nose.

It's amazing how pick up trucks have gone from work vehicles to Pontiac Aztecs over the last 20 years
Lmao so true. Dumb truck owners think they're the sht.
Pretty much. Then you see Pontiac Azteks as work vehicles.
Cheap, solid drivetrain, lots of room in the back, and can tow 3000-3500 lbs. Perfectly good for landscaping or renos.
That’s amazing they give you an additional railing even after you buy the truck

I am trading in my 2019 XLT sport with the 2.7L V6 in one month for this exact truck I have ordered. Will be a huge step in trim from the XLT to the King Ranch as well as the powertrain option i'm going with. Worked my ass off in 2020 so I could afford this thing. Super excited after seeing this review of yours Doug. Excellent work my friend.

Fun fact: Last year, over 897,000 F-Series trucks were sold in America. That means, in every 35 seconds, somewhere in America, an F-Series was sold.
The crazy thing is ford has basically built a system with 107 month loans and massive discounts on new trucks that its decently realistic for truck people to trade their old vehicle in for a brand new one every two or so years
@@Andrew-nl7dk what? I never heard of that. Is it like a lease? 107 is almost 10 years, how can you trade your truck after 24-30 months and still get a new one? Am I missing something? Is it like the cellphones, where once you pay half you can turn it in and upgrade to a new one?
Could you please elaborate on that? I never understood how some always got new trucks...
Someones getting screwed every 35 sec
If you change it to working hours and calculate based on 8 hours a day, 6 days a week its one sold every 9.5seconds. Pretty crazy.

"New styling" kinda like Porsche keeps "redesigning" the 911.
@Jan Brady that’s true, my favorite ford truck still has to be the 9th gen from 92-96/97
And the way "new" Harleys always look just like every other Harley made for the past twenty years.
Good. Don’t change what isn’t broken. Look at the new Chevys for example 🤢
I’m glad, like the Porsche too. Why completely redesign such a nice looking vehicle.

Glass fiber reenforcement is a very common addition to plastics to make them tougher, you’ll see it in basically any serious tool, cool to see it here in a tailgate.

I got a Silverado ad during this video claiming "the most functional bed." Didn't see a ruler built into the tailgate though...

Ford Designer: "how many King Ranch W's you want on the truck?"
Ford: "yes"
Lolololololzzzzz
The best part is the adjustable pedals. I know sounds crazy but that's a feature not on many vehicles.
If I had a dollar for every time ford gave me an f150 ad than I would be able to afford a gt500
I have an 2019 model with the 3.5 ecoboost. I prefer it over the 5.0. The fuel economy plus power is the best thing about it for me.
It’s gas mileage is barely better and when you tow anything the eco boost does far worse on gas mileage. So I guess if you aren’t using it as a truck then you’re fine.🤷♂️
