Just picked this one up recently. I love it.

It really is! And with a kickass payload to top it off!
Deceptively tanky too. Has more health than a vanguard or Scorpius.
It really is quite hardy!

I'll concede that I still need to put this ship through its paces but the Spirit series in general suffers from a number of common issues relating to the airframe while the A1 also suffers from role specific issues too.
The Spirit series in general falls into the same category as the Cutlass, Freelancer and upcoming Zeus, as such this sets the standard. Unfortunately when put up against its competitors the wingspan of the Spirit presents problems. The overall wingspan of the Spirit renders it much closer to the Corsair than any of its brethren and it is in serious danger of being left behind (if not obsolete) once the Zeus is released. This is, at least in part, due to poor defences and/or a lack of manoeuvrability for its size and while the C1 may not be an designated combat vessel the A1 certainly is.
There are more issues I could list but it's a RUclips comments section and not a forum, as such I'll just finish by saying the A1 suffers from both airframe related issues and it suffers from a lack of/missing game mechanics to flesh out its role. The bombing mechanics in the game are rudimentary at best with a very real issue when it comes to bomb efficacy. There's also a lack of options (something we see with torps) when it comes to weapon the type of bomb itself.
There are a lot of missing mechanics in the game and I think ultimately the A1 is another victim of these missing mechanics while also suffering from some design issues. I want to love this ship but I don't know if it'll stay in my hangar, especially once the Zeus arrives.
Yea it’s really unfortunate that the ships in this class (with larger wingspans/cross-sections) are more vulnerable than others just a half size up. Compared to the Connie and Corsair the Freelancer, Spirit and Cutty just get melted too quick! Master modes balances this a little but looking forward to seeing more improvements, along with future updates to bombing as well!
I dropped a bomb an an NPC on foot, on the ground. He shrugged it off like it was nothing... I think bombing is somewhat broken in 3.23

I was at Picker's Field the other day and someone in an A1 dropped a bomb literally on my head and i survived. LOL.
