In order to get the TRIPLTEK Tablet working with the Autel Explorer APP:
If you already have the Autel Explorer, please delete the APP.
Go to Google Play APP
Go to the Play Protect option
Press Settings Icon on the upper right part of the screen
Deactivate “Scan Device for security Threats"
Restart your Tablet
Install the Autel Explorer APP
Connect the Controller and try flying the drone
After all of these steps you can activate the google play protection again.

I use a Lonovo 10.3 inch tablet with a sunscreen made out of cardboard covered with duct tape that's super easy to DYI. Works perfectly.
Edited to add. The Lonovo is 125 dollars on Ebay, brand new.

Good one Captain Drone. I have modified the attachment wings on my remote controller of my Mavic. I can now put my Full size Apple tablet in it, turn the drightness up to full and not need a screen shade as long as I am in shadow. It is without doubt the best set up for Mavic there is. I ordered the DJI Smart Controller back in late September. Had it for all of 4 days and returned it. It was a lemon, no one else I've heard of had the issues I had with mine. So this was very timely. I went ahead and ordered it. Besides the higher NIT count, the price is waay more reasonable than the Smart Controller and on par with the CrystalSky. Plus, being an Android product, I don't see there being any issues with running the Autel app for my Evo, as well. Which is something I could not do on the Smart Controller. Great informative video as is usually the case on this channel. Thank you.

I had tons of issues with my smart controller hated it they swapped out for me and sold….don’t miss it at all!
Say, I want to say that the Tripletek 7” tablet works GREAT the Autel EVO2. I will say at first I had a few problems. But after a firmware update and purchasing a new good connection cable all of the problems where solved. No more app crashes it works very well with a T mobile data connection. And I will say thy have one of the best costumer service that I’ve had to deal with in along time, the are out to please. I had no problems flying my Mavic2 with this tablet what so ever. And Tripltek is working hard to better this tablet. The good thing you can do with tablet it is a phone. The only thing I did to this tablet was removed the screen protector cause I like to use a stylus when working on any tablet or phone but that is just me.
So I just ordered one….once I get it what do I have to do to get flying with my Autel Evo 2 pro 6K?

Sweet tablet it seems to have a lot going for it but brightness is the main draw also battery and computing power. I was using my phone all the time but just recently I got the adapter so I’ve been using my 5th gen 10.1 iPad and have to say it is so much better. All except brightness. I would really like to try one of these babies, I really like the armoured look and feel. Another great demo on a good looking piece of kit!

Just getting back into the hobby. Made a couple purchases this weekend from Ebay: An Autel Evo I (same price as this tablet you're reviewing and it's the fly more bundle, like new, flown twice still has the plastic wrap on the controller!) and a Feelworld FW279 ($90). Kind of MacGyvery, but I'll have to use a Miracast to send my phone's screen to the FW279 - but hey, this monitor is 2200nits! I just tested my old "WeCast" dongle with my S10 and Vizio TV and it works great.
The shutter button right next to the 911 button? That's not good. The shutter button is often used, and usually the button is pressed blind because people are taking selfies and such.

If anyone buys this tablet and you cannot connect the phone with Verizon, which I could not, you can go to Google and get the SECOND LINE app to make the phone work.
Sounds good, I have Verizon, and the one question I sent to Support at Tripltek was whether the tablet would be about to use Verizon ./ CDMA protocol the reply was that it does work (WCDMA) but in some states it has problems . Nice to know about the Second Line App. Thanks.

I stopped using my Mobile Phone because I much more prefer the iPad mini. But this would be so much better than the iPad.
Slept on it & despite some reservations about the display properties, decided to bite the bullet on this purchase due to screen brightness, battery power and overall durability. Nice to have a tablet you can abuse. $599 was the price listed on the site. I wrote them inquiring about the CaptainDrone promotion, and they responded by adding a promotional code box to their order page this morning. Price was $549 USD with free shipping within the USA with no tax. An hour after ordering, I received my shipping confirmation from USPS. The price listed this morning on Amazon is $649 USD pre-tax with availability after November 8th. We'll see if it's worth it but going thru Tripletek's site to purchase it with the CaptainDrone promo makes this purchase a bit more palatable.

Good video... thanks you convinced me after trying to fly my phantom and the air 2 with cell phone- looks like a great product , having a bright screen and being able to use it for multple applications should be a good investment( and IT IS NOT APPLE) I went to their website and the price was 599.00 and with a 50.00 discount(thanks CaptainDrone) it was 549.00 and free shipping. This is probably less expensive then and apple tablet and you can add 128 gig memory card. Seriously looking forward to getting this tablet.
I just received a new iPad Mini and will be trying it out in the days ahead, as it is just the right size in my opinion. Yet, I liked what I saw of the Triplik, except for it's size. But I will keep it in mind should I decide to pick up another controller type device that does so much more. Again, thanks for the review.

Be careful what you wish for. Check out the forums. Many having problems running the dji apps.
I use an ipad mini 4 on all my drones and it works great on DJIs.

Just ordered one, Dec 5th 2020, "captaindrone" promo put price from $599 to $549otd (no tax), says shipping 2-3days usps (option for overnight was $45). Paying a few hundred extra over other tablets for a super bright screen, 128gbmem + more if you want, rugged durability, plus more... seems like a no brainer for constantly travelling around and for outdoor use. Hope it works out the way I'm hoping..lol.
Hello Captain Drone! I see that you start your drone without unfolding the props. This actually damages the drone and causes vibration, which could damage the mechanisms and gimbal. It is best practice to start it with props open. Keep up the great content!
I have so many drones (due to being a reviewer of drones) that I am not worried. I must treat them like the majority of users treat them and not baby them, so that what users see is real world. But, thanks for the tip.
This tablets are NOGO for me and the simple reason would be that its missing the most desired feature all tablets ...A mini HMI output connector!!!!...Yes, HMI would be very usefull for recording and FPV enthusiasts. I would recommend you make another video for that as many people are looking into that. When I say HMI its the direct video output which offers little lag compated to the other solutions. Having that feature would In the future give you the ability to analyse your video (ex: YOLO object detection with you RTX 3090 video card) and drive your bird controller like a Tesla on auto pilot!
Very nice specs and looks very tough too and it is not as expensive as an iPad
It looks like it’s main target is industrial enterprise customers, I’ve used tech spec’d like this in jobs I’ve had in the past. Companies like things that are built tough like this to survive daily use as employees don’t take good care of company issued tools.

LOOKS nice I use a samsung note 8 it has an outdoor mode and it works pretty well and its a lot cheaper it's just not as rugged as that one so if I break this one I would probably look into getting that one (GREAT VID)
I still use my Note 8 for my drones. 1200 nits on a 6.3" screen. I like this tablet but $550 to gain 0.7"? Not for me but I can see how it will benefit others. Nice video as always Cap.
I have the pro version and there may be an issue with the compass not being accurate or not functioning. Running google maps, if I point to north, the icon will point to south. If I rotate left, the icon rotates right. Running dji fly app 1.2.2 or higher, not getting exact tablet position. Tried to calibrate but no go. Anyone with the tablet experiencing similar issue?

I have one and a couple things - the cable for the new controller has to be usb C to usb C. Also this tablet is very heavy and thick so you have to get creative with a mount. I also have a CS and this one is much brighter and bigger. Also battery life is very good and you can install any app for android where the CS is very limited. I paid $599 on Amazon. I think they have a sale on them now for $549

Thank you for explaining the Tripltek 7. I am not a professional drone piolet but want a better quality of a monitor. My Google Pixel 6 phone has just recently had DJI Fly issues. App opens but immediately closes. Contacted DJI and the Google support with little resolution from either. Would you recommend the Tripltek 7 to replace my phone?

Interested in knowing if like other android products, you can't turn off the controller charging the device. It's been so long since I used android that option may have already been fixed. Very interested in this but as I run 6 batteries on my drone I need all the power in the controller to say in the controller not charge the device. Cheers

The first thing I did this morning was click the Amazon link....$649 😳 I’m sorry but that’s too much for me, guess I’ll have to keep using the $20 sun shade until prices become more reasonable; or buy an iPhone 11 which goes to 1200 nits then I have a new phone and a screen I can see when I fly. I can’t afford $600 for something I’ll only use once or twice a week 😔

Hey, I currently use an iPad Mini 5 with a hood (in Texas). It works well enough if you're standing in the shade or on a really overcast day, but even with a hood, out in direct sun, it's difficult to see unless you're basically holding it right up with your face essentially in the hood. That's why I've been looking at other options and have decided to order this tablet based on Steve's review (as well as another, see my comments below). Hope that helps!

I received my tripltek model T7121 yesterday from amazon. Today I placed the device online via tether to my note10, both android devices. I booted up the tripltek device and went strait to the playstore app on the device. Typed in:
dji fly app mavic air 2
only to realize that the dji fly app was NOT an option on here. So I verified that the tripltek device is running android 9 and all should be well.
went back to playstore and typed in:
dji fly app mavic air 2 android
STRIKE 2, only options are for dji go 4 (not compatible with mavic air 2)
and then dji store, now I am seeing dji pilot but no where does that state that it works with the mavic air 2.
I purchased this particular 1200 nit tablet for the same reason as others but more specifically for the dji fly app availability and it still is NOT available to me, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO FIX THIS as I have a high end client tomorrow that I want to show the bright screen to. PLEASE HELP and thank you!!!
DJI Fly app should work fine (that was the first thing myself and every other reviewer check). Also, you are the only person out of thousands to have this issue according to the comments so there is something very wrong at your end. Suggest you contact TRIPLTEK, they are very responsive to people with questions.
I have a true question how well does it live broadcast to facebook useing djigo4 crystall sky no longer lets you do this and if they made a dirrect connect with cendence controller crystall sky mount its a home run
You'd have to have a connection to data to transmit to Facebook
WARNING! Anyone planning to buy this device as a true tablet, be warned, it is not. The device 'acts' as a phone, and all apps it runs are the phone versions without any way to force it to load the Tablet version of any app. So every web browser loads the mobile version of a website not the tablet version with no way to force it to load the tablet version. All apps such as RUclips, Flipboard and any other you can think of, will load the phone version only, making it useless for anything other than Drone use, and it is too costly to be a one trick pony in my view. Not a single review i have seen on this thing even mentions this fact.
Very nicely made and really looks great. Brightness of screen is amazing. However it runs an outdated Android 8.1. Also says it is currently unavailable on Amazon. My one 6'' phone has a 10000 mAh battery. But yes, nice video and well explained Steve.
The company has told me there is an error on AMAZON about stock and will be fixed on Monday. As a RUclips reviewer that only uses the BRIGHTEST phone screen displays I will tell you that a CRYSTAL SKY, SMART CONTROLLER and this TABLET will outdoor a phone because a phone can not maintain the brightness outdoors for lengthy periods due to how the small battery in phones is managed.
im the guy that loves controllers with a screen, like my Typhone H or my Hubson 501ss...it is a really nice tablet with a not so nice price tag lol...

when you stop the video at 1:25 in the specs you can see the battery capacity is 1000mAh....
1000 mAh would be barely enough power to have the tablet work for 5 min.

Looks like a good tablet that wont have any problems. Im using my apple mini 4 pad and when flying it gives me errors that say "CPU is overloaded and the video fpv screen starts screwing up. Maybe I should use my samsung galaxy note 10 plus phone?

It works like an iPad with a SIM card. As a cell phone it would have limited phone features.
It works as a regular 4G LTE cell phone

It works perfectly fine with the EVO 2
One mayor downfall of this tablet is no HDMI OUT .. that means you cannot connect it to a DJI controlller and to the DJI goggles at the ame time for incompatible drone such as the Mavic mini . If it had an HDMI out it would be a an absolute buy for me because it has 64 bit architecture so I can handle the Mavic mini

1342 Nits for the Samsung S20 Ultra which is what I have so maybe I'll be using that more instead of the iPad Mini Gen 5.. One thing have noticed is the iOS devices have a little more features and the one I can recall is the Gimbal features.. On android you cant custom use the function button top left.. Only thing it does and face the camera 90 degrees down then up for singlen& double click... On iOS you can customize that button to either face down or to pull up your maps.. So on my iPad my su gle click faces the cam down & up & double click will pull up maps then go back to fpv... Little things but I like that feature.. Hope it comes to android...

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Check out Thor’s Drone World. He sells a combo that works with the LifThor. But it would work with any mount that could hold a 7jn tablet. You stil l need a phone or say an SC to run the ap and mirror it on the Feelworld.

Interesting. Can you confirm that it has Google services, including the regular Google Play store? Not all Android devices do, and the tripltek site doesn't say. Would like to know if Drone Pilot Canada would run on it, and Google services are required.
Yes it has the Playstore. You just log into your Google account. I used it to download the DJI apps as well as a few other common apps I use on my phone. If you 100% need to know if drone pilot canada will run on it, just send me an email and I'll check it out next time I have the device in my hands (captaindrone798@gmail.com)
