Steve, With that being an Android device did you have any issues with doing software updates? I had major issues with doing updates with both my android phone and my android tablet on my Mavic 2 Zoom. I borrowed a friends iPhone to do the updates. Finally bought my own Ipad and have not had an issue since.

I purchased this tablet three weeks ago and it is wonderful for flying drones. I dumped my ipad mini for the Tripltek. The only complaint I have is that it is still running Android 9, and the current version that is shipping with new cell samsung phones is 11. Still well worth the money if you are flying drones.

I bought it too... a little shocked I cant watch and edit videos greater then 1080p, it just cant handle it, a lot of lag... adleast I thought I could watch my videos made by drone... Is this normal? Or should the tablet squeeze the video to be watcable? and the dark theme only works in half... oh... and DJI fly app froze two times in one week while flying...

never had an issue controlling any drone till I got the MA2 and had to use the fly app... Almost gave up and was going to send the drone back (dji was no help at all) but finally bought a new ipad mini and that worked. I even had phones that dji said would work but didn't. I'll only recommend dji/W/fly app if someone has newer apple ios device. wish I would have just bought the evo 2 pro 6k. If I only knew then what I know now...

Since there is no HDMI port, use a Wireless HDMI Display Dongle Adapter and connect that to your goggles. You connect this tablet wirelessly to the adapter, the adapter is connected to the goggles via HDMI port and you'll be able to FPV. I have this tablet (pro version) plus the adapter and fatshark HDO2. Works perfectly.

Hey Capt. Like the format of your reviews. It has to be a challenge convincing yourself to drive out to your favorite park during days where the "mercury" collects in the bottom of the tube. It's somewhat more mild here in Florida during the 3rd week of Jan.(H2O is still in liquid form) I realize Drone rules differ between countries and various locals. Here in the U.S. max HAGL is 400ft except when a tower or building is avail in the FZ. In witch case 400ft "above" said structure is permitted. It would be very valuable to know which drone systems permit altitude flying above 400ft. I've noticed most drones don't allow this with the packaged software. The info is also lacking on most websites selling the drones. Another value add feature I notice on some of your drone videos is way point tracking overlaying a map. Knowing which drones can reliably accomplish this is also of value I think. Thank you again for your excellent reviews. Stay warm!

Most of my drones don't need a tablet and that thing costs more than most of them! I can see that working well with my mavic. In my drone bag, I use an old tablet for beta fight stuff. I got it for free during the time when everyone was giving them away for signing up for some service. It's definitely not rugged like this one and slow! Its popped apart a few times too.

The thing that sucks is the screen resolution. 720p isn’t that great especially if your out far from home and you want to do some post work. 1080p would be much better on a screen that size. The iPhone has a much higher resolution screen and it’s how much smaller? And the specs are really nothing to write home about. Sure it’s rugged but who takes their drone out in the water? Or their remote in the water? Good review but I don’t know I could say these are better then a refurbished iPad for $270. Maybe I just don’t understand. I like that last tablet holder though for the DJI controller. I’ll be picking one of those up. Thank you.

I don't find that I am using the bt-300 as often, as intended and I'm thinking the processing power is more robust with the Tripltek Pro , which would eliminate the lag that I sometimes experience with the bt-300 smart glasses, while providing a bright screen on sunny days. • @CAPTAINDRONE798

It is due to Beginners getting into the Drone hobby. Beginners start at level zero and want everything in a box so the Camera Drone Hobby that uses a cells phone or tablet is designed for beginners and everything you need to get going is all in one box. This means that each drone has a different controller that only works with the one drone it was intended for. The other more advanced drone hobby is the FPV DRONE HOBBY and that is where you have to own your own gear and your fly with goggles on your face.

So I compiled against the GPU and it's struggling. The latency is within the GPU rendering and therefore the output is going to result as such. I ran a spectrum analysis to scan the RF to see if any possible other RF interferences detected or present, none. Checked the gain levels and I far exceed such with an long range antenna, shhhh FCC. My next step will be pushing against the CPU to see if any other unknown problems. I have tested 9 devices of the 8 pro version Tripltek and all are showing same results. ANY android device will deplete the battery on the controller as its a default setting for android devices. On apple you have to turn that option on to charge the phone from the controller. TBH Id like the option to turn it off when using android devices with large batteries such as this one.

DJI dropped the ball on their CrystalSky monitors from the getgo. They were way pricey , only supported third party apps with much difficulty, had very few FW updates, and no new models have been offered since release. I own both the 5.5" and the larger Ultrabrite one and have often wished that DJI would at least offer a little support , but no joy here as they won't even work with the new Mavic Air or the Mini drones. I had hoped that my purchase would be functional going forward with new drone generations and models , but hell no. CS beat the pants off of any iPad for brightness, even with a hood attached on the iPad , but I find myself preferring goggles these days and mostly don't use the CS monitors much if at all. This reviewed product is cheaper , runs apps, and has already been updated in a short span, but I wonder if it isn't too late in the drone saturation curve to have much of an impact what with new rules from the FAA and a stalled economy.
