Wow! I can’t believe the amount of work you put into your pieces! I really appreciate that you share your secrets! Thank you for this, and keep up the great work!
That was really cool. I am a professional silversmith and I teach silversmithing classes online and privately to individuals in their homes and now that Covid-19 is getting somewhat better. You made this look so easy I do some why are rapping and I’ve never really done coils because I thought it was going to be really hard to do. I’m so glad I watched this video because you executed it perfectly!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!!! I’m definitely going to give this a try….
i want to try some wire wrapping with copper because of the healing properties that it has so i am going to try making some rings and bracelets as first projects. it looks so amazing these projects hope i can create something beautiful as you with some practise
I've often thought of using a drill for coiling because of the difficulty hand coiling and discomfort from my arthritis. I like the way you showed how to fix problems as they arise. Thank you for sharing.. a new subscriber. PS I will share my jewelry making friends ☺
Awesome! I’ve been wire wrapping for barely six weeks or so & I’ve been wanting to learn how to do coils!!! Thnx so much for taking your time & sharing it & your knowledge in this video!
Wow! I'm lucky enough to have two drills and plenty of wire. I'm going to try this either tonight or in the morning. Thank you so much for all your informative and educational tutorials!!!
A great video, i loved seeing how you incorparated, the coils in to the pendant design, that part was absolutely special and it really made this video overall awesome. I really like coil designs, and i want to learn more coil designs, because i think there are not enough coil design, videos on RUclips, and i dont really have enough knowledge and experience, to refer back to in how to use and apply coil wire designs, ive only made one necklace design out of coiled wire, i just need more ideas and inspiration, thank you for this wonderful video, i already subscribed and gave your video a like, thanks Laura in uk
How did you know that I needed to see a tutorial on this very subject?!?!. I have made one but was not sure on the measurements so it came out a bit short. Yours are sooo perfect and beautiful. Now I know where I went wrong. Thank you for ALL the help you give us. 🙏🏼❤️💐
Thank you so much for this really informative video on these coils. Although I have learnt quite a few weaving patterns, I haven't learnt any advanced coils. This has inspired me to give them a try!..
I can't believe it took me so long to see this! Thank you sooo much for mentioning my tutorial, Melissa! I'm sorry it took forever for me to see this. Gorgeous work!👏👏❤️🙏🥳
I really liked the way you showed us how to make coiled coils! It was very easy to follow and I could really see the whole process unfolding in front of my eyes. I am going to try this with my drill for sure! I’ve only done it by hand before but this way is sooo much faster!
Thanks for sharing! it’s funny I ran across this when I did! Surprisingly there isn’t much info out there on determining how much wire is needed for coils if you are specifically looking for wire wrapping/jewelry making etc… I did find formulas on how to do the math to figure it out but it was related to wire wrapping solenoids/electic motors/making springs and so on which was actually quite simple once I found it but to be honest your 1:4 ratio gets it almost just as close so unless I’m wrapping with gold or silver I’m gonna stick with yours haha. Thanks again😁👍
That took a beautiful wrap to a whole new level! thanks for sharing! I had done those double wrap curls a few years back so it was nice for a refresher course! lol
Awesome tutorial. Though, how do I stop the end of the wire that's in the drill from breaking off while coiling? That's the only problem I've had but I am very much a noob
new to wire working and absolutely love this design. it is stunning! how much would you charge for a piece like this and how long did it take you to make ? please and thank you
Many Thxs Melissa for this tutorial and all that you do!❤️ My question is do you have a link to projects that you’ve used this coiling or other coiling techniques with? As a beginner it would be helpful if you could direct me to a link that has completed coiled jewelry? If you do not have links, please consider doing tutorials to this effect! Again, in Gratitude! Blessings to you!🙏🏽🌹
Good idea! I’ll try to incorporate these into some more videos. Here’s a link to the only one I have one video so far… ruclips.net/video/Zkz6sJ-btfo/видео.html
I'm definitely late to the party! You are so talented! I've been searching on how to videos for this exact thing forever! I've been discouraged with me attempts because my coils keep snapping when I try using the drill.. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong so I've just been twisting them by hand which takes ages.. 😩 😵💫 🥴 Do you have any tips for keeping them in tact? It's it possible my gages are just too small? Thanks for sharing your talent with us! ♥️
Thanks for watching! I hope you play around with making coils!
They are lots of fun to make once you get the hang of it!

Great video and tutorial!!! I especially found the calculation of how much coil you need to produce for a specified use very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! ☺️💜

Great to hear! ☺️💜
Is there a tutorial for how you wrapped that pendant?
No. The frame is based off a tutorial by Perfectly Twisted Jewelry and then I added the coils myself
I had to include this video in to my "Watch Later" vids as a reference and refresher tutorial. Many thanks for this!!!
Glad it was helpful! 💜☺️
You are such a wonderful artist.

Awesome tutorial. Though, how do I stop the end of the wire that's in the drill from breaking off while coiling? That's the only problem I've had but I am very much a noob
That has happened to me. I think I tried to make it as straight as possible
new to wire working and absolutely love this design. it is stunning! how much would you charge for a piece like this and how long did it take you to make ? please and thank you

Put a right angle in the wire to lock it into the drill and make sure the wire that comes out is dead center as best you can ☺️
@@ZurickDesigns thank you so much for your response! 🥇 I'm going to attempt this again! 🥰
Do you have a tutorial for this whole pendant? I think it looks really great and would like to try it 🙂💜💚🧡
I used Perfectly Twisted Jewelry’s Nexus Framed pendant tutorial for the most part. I added the coils as well ☺️
@@ZurickDesigns thank you so much 🥰
so pretty,
What’s your formula for determining how long you need to make the initial coil on the drill? If you said it I think I missed it.
I make about 4 times the length. Of course different size wire may vary that measurement but that’s what I go by
my wire always snaps at part it's connecting to drill? i've tryed slower, will lower tension, nothing helps, could it be quality of wire?
Maybe it’s too hard?
Try soft wire 🤔
can I know what benefits of the coil
Embellishments
I have a large number of cabochons
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
24 GAUGE
28 GAUGE
So, to make a 2" finished coil, you coiled 8" on the drill? Is this the standard math?
Pretty much! Takes a lot of wire!
