Thank you for this tutorial. You are a wonderful teacher and your instructions are precise and easy to understand. I have been making jewelry for over 20 years and was recently diagnosed with ADHD in my 60's I always had a hard time with measurements and following some tutorials. You made it understandable to me. Beautitul work!! THANK YOU
@@annimerethenilsen8888 thank you, I'm glad you found the video helpful. Check out my new video tomorrow at 1:30pm for another beginner friendly tutorial. Hope you enjoy 💚✨
I have not watched your video yet, but that opening statement was amazing. Your a positive person, which, makes me think your videos will be fun to watch, follow, and listen too. Had to Google which 2 to use. 😂😂
Oh Kaidy, these r awesome. I have tried so hard to make crosses that were much smaller and they just couldn't make the fit. I wanted them simple. But looking at your video further confirms that the type of pliers make a difference. Also the diagram becomes important too. Thank you for all that. AND I have gotten some pure copper wire I used only once cuz I'm unlearned about the oxidizing process. Actually I'm looking for the simplest method. Wink, wink. So, I'm coming along slowly but surely. One awful day a friend lost her husband and when I found out thru IG...at that..I quickly made a card for funeral in one day. Yes, only had one day. I knew her since a young teenager whose mom I worked with for about 20 years. She lost her husband and brother within 3 months due to CA. Since they were a spiritual family, designed a card with a 3D like Bible. One side had a sentiment. And I knew I wanted the crucifix to be attached to the other side. Suddenly, while looking for bought cross charms,I came across the ones I had done. You know what? I used one and it really added meaning. So, I never consider my messed up stuff failures, but rather imperfect. But at this time of such loss, the imperfect became perfect and needed. NOW, I can do better through you. Thank you so much. And I got myself a new hammer, a chase hammer. Had a 2x2 block, and I'm ready to " hammer out " as per Pete Seger. I'm on a mission.
Hi there! I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend's husband; may he rest well. A handmade gift, especially in times of mourning can mean so much to the receiver. I'm glad that you are staying on track with your craft. Did you take a photo of your card? I would love to see how it turned out! Sending you tons of love and well wishes ❤
I liked I subscribed. As a new wire wrapper I appreciate the teaching done nice and slow with great visuals! Looking forward to watching all your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent. My new found artistic adventure was learned completely here on RUclips by kind people like yourself . I know it’s a lot of hard work designing, fabricating, filming, editing and on and on, so thank you so much!😊
Thank you so much for being here ✨ you're so kind! Most of my videos are beginner friendly, but I do have the occasional one where I just create freely. Thanks again 😀
I enjoyed this video before but today I tackled it. I won! First go was fraught with issues but I persevered. I had issues with dings on wire when I hammered it thought I measured wrong, but I kept going until I cut the bail in the wrong spot.. sigh. But I just started over. That is when I realized I had used the wrong gauge wire! Well that made all the difference. I think I was using 20 😖. This time all went smoothly and I completed it with the same bead as you used. It looks great. So now in the next week I will make more so that I have the skill set down. Your directions were crystal clear, thanks so much for sharing with us! If at first you don’t succeed…. and all that😍
@@15Montrano yeess!! I love this for you so much. Your fighter spirit is admirable and so necessary when things don't go the way you are expected. I'm happy to share, so proud of you ✨✨...if you have Instagram I'd love to see the end result @feenyx_jewelry
Accept the challenge😁 If you want it to be thicker, first use a larger gauge and/or you can hammer the cross even more so the wire spreads. Always happy to share so let me know if I can help 💚✨
Hi! I'm happy to share what I can. I got the cord from @cherrytreebeadofficial (Cherry Tree Beads) a few years ago. I'm not certain if they still stock them.
Hi, it depends. With this project I just went based on how large I wanted the cross to be multiplied by 2. Otherwise you would measure the length of whatever stone you use. Here's my formula for the cross: Bottom prong 1 inch, side prongs 1/2 inch each, top prong 1/2 inch, bail 1/2 inch, and about another 1/2 inch to account for the curves of the piece. That gives me 3 and a 1/2 inches which I multiplied by 2 to get 7 inches of wire to use for the project. If you use a stone, follow the same process but measure your stone lengthwise and multiply by 2 to ensure the wire will make it around the stone fully. Then include measurements for the bail and curves of your stone. My final tip is to use a sewing measuring tape or a piece of string to measure the circumference of the stone. I know this was a lot but at least it will be here if you ever need to refer back. Let me know if I can help any further. All the best ✨✨

What is the measurement from the bottom to the beginning of the horizontal bend?
Hi! That bottom part is 1 1/4 inch.
Is there a rule of how much wire to use?
Any formula to use based on the stone ?
