    Pretty awesome for your first tutorial, to be honest. I like how you use a plain, light-colored background, and the brighter-toned wire for demonstration, as well as nice bright lighting. This makes it so much easier for us older folks to make out what your fingers are doing each time. Very much appreciated!

      Hi Samantha, consider using dead soft wire for wire weaving and wire wrapping. It's very malleable and easy to bend. Protective finger tape is another good option. Cheers! 💗

    I just found your channel. Just went back to working with wire in my jewelry and was looking for easy tutorials. Your video is so easy to follow and helped me a lot. Yook a bunch of notes. Lol.
    I do have a question, what is the smallest gauge of wire you can use for the base (here you use 20). Can I use 22 or 24 or even thicker (18, 16, etc)? How about the one you use to wrap, can I use 28 or 30? Thanks so much for sharing

    • @UniqueJewelsDesign
      @UniqueJewelsDesign  3 года назад +3

      Thanks 😊💗 Usually, for base wire I use 18 and 20 gauge, which I combine with 26 gauge weaving wire. Of course, you can use 16 or 22 gauge for base wire depend on your design. For weaving wire, you can use 24-26 gauge on 16-20 gauge, and 26-30 on 18-22 gauge. 28-30 gauge are extremely thin. If you use them on 16-18 gauge base wire, it will take much more wire for weaving and it kinda looks strange. For coiled coils, I normally use 28-30 gauge on 22-24 gauge. For bails, I recommend you to use 26-28 gauge on 18-20 gauge. If I make bail on two base wires, I use 18 gauge. If it's on 3,4 or more wires, I use 20 gauge or I combine 18 and 20 gauge. Experiment and have fun! 😉

    • @UniqueJewelsDesign
      @UniqueJewelsDesign  3 года назад

      hi, you just need a few pliers and wire. In this video, you can see my favorite pliers. I have more pliers, but I make my jewelry mainly with these pliers. I placed a link (in the description of the tutorial) where you can buy them from. Regarding the wire: for base wire, you can use 18 gauge and 20 gauge wire. For weaving wire - 26 gauge and 28 gauge. Happy weaving! 😘

    • @UniqueJewelsDesign
      @UniqueJewelsDesign  3 года назад

      Hey Arnetta, bail-making pliers are not so good for holding wire. Although these wire weaving patterns are not complicated and you might be able to make them with bail-making pliers, I recommend you using chain nose pliers. They are perfect for gripping and manipulating wire.

      I don't apply glue. I prefer to secure the pendant by snugging the ends of the wire or insert them between other wires and then push tightly into place.
