you can be, but many metal artists learned by watching youtubes and reading books more than in classes! google for metalsmithing classes in your area. sometimes called jewelry classes. if it's teaching you basic soldering and rivets and such, you'll learn a lot of the right skills and can take it further on your own. theres's also some good metalsmithing basics and lapidary basics fb groups out there.
There are online classes you can take. A friend of mine has even been self teaching through watching RUclips videos! Saving up for the bigger tools like the saw and sander is usually the biggest barrier. What I'm doing is starting by making very simble stone jewelry with tumbles that I've bought, and ones I've found and tumbled myself. Then with the profits I make selling those, I'm getting better tools that'll let me try new skills. Right now I'm doing wire wrapping and saving up to get what I need for silver soldering and metal clays. Once I've mastered silver solder and metal clay, I'm going to save up for more tumblers, and a wet saw and sander. When I've mastered that, I'll be looking into what I need for metal casting! Break it all down into steps starting as far away from your end goal as possible, and as you mastering each part you'll be slowly raising the money to start the next. Of course this takes years. I actually started my journey doing simple beadwork jewelry 8-9 years ago. It was only 2 years ago I decided to focus on gemstones, and then decided I wanted to go the whole way of carving stones and designing my own fittings. I'm disabled and below the poverty line, so my process is very slow. But it's worth it since I enjoy it! And if you're lucky you might find people near to you who won't mind sharing tools and secrets. 😊
@@shibibi1 that's amazing and is inspiring me to continue building my skills as well. I'm where you have started off, making beaded earrings and using metal wire to create new things, supplies are limited, but I'm hoping to continue and get into casting metal one day. Good luck on your journey, I'd love to see your jewellery
Brilliant! Once again, I was simply mesmerized as I watched you do your thing! Phenomenal! I would never have thought to use a separating disc on a gemstone!!!! Once more you’ve blown my mind! Thanks for the share!
The blade has no notches and the grain is superfine. Revolution speed is also low compared with other saws. It tickles to touch them. This is safer than using gloves or trying to hold stones in other ways. Freaks everyone out at first.
Who knew this was so easy!?! I’m going right into my kitchen and make myself a tiny rose quartz dagger pendant y’all! For real, you make this seem as simple as pasta! Absolutely stunning piece by a true artist! 😎
every time i watch you heat a piece that bright red while soldering i get so anxious. you always pull it off, but when I try it i just get a sad silver lump........ one day i'll have this level of control. one day.
I understand why it’s priced the way it is, I totally get it, but that doesn’t stop me from wishing it was cheaper so I could have it 😩 gorgeous
this is my outlook on most things that cost money😂

Absolutely stunning 😍😍😍
Awesome, just awesome.
Safety: am I a joke to you?!
Edit: to those with the sense of humor of an infant, this is a joke. No need to be so hot and bothered.
Pretty low risk using a diamond wet saw. The blade is smooth with a very fine grit to cut. If your hand touches the blade, no big deal.
Stunning!
