    everyone's talking about the detail but the fact that the artisan kept such good track of the bigger picture and used that detail without muddying the larger forms is what really wows me

      I agree with you! The most important aspect of a sculpture is a bigger picture. I think a piece without a bigger picture is like having your skin covered without bones. And the process of drawing a big picture is the most fun :)

      nop, wax is less valuable than diamonds

      @@onetwo-gt2tr I think the wax will be used as a mould to cast metal later. Wax by itself is too fragile to be worn as a ring. So depending on the metal used as well as the gemstone used, its value will be higher than diamond on a metal torus.

      I dont think you can with all this detail and geometry, and since it has a stone already i dont think its meant

      @@Saleca of course you can cast it, the stone isnt set, its just there for placement. this is meant for lost wax casting

    Seeing your process of subtracting and adding material over and over in such detail is captivating, but watching the Jade Dragon come to life put the fire in my eyes.

    The actual jewelry making here is obviously incredible, but I want to give a shout out to the video production! You did an amazing job balancing the audio of scraping and grinding tools with really soothing musical beats- it’s gentle and satisfying and still feels connected to the functional artistry 😍

    3D media artistry is mind-blowing to me. I'm a 2D artist, with what my natural inclination is, and things like carving, pottery, and so on... they've always seemed so challenging. It's such a different mindset in the creation process, sometimes. Well done on such an articulate piece. It turned out amazing!

    When a skill level in crafting is so high, seeing how to makes a work seen easy.
    I don't know how many years of practice a mortal needs to done something like that, but in my honest opinion, more than i have left to live.
    I wanna see the final piece when its done.

    I never see any jewelry on my recommended as I don’t wear or care for jewelry much if at all. This was fascinating to watch though, so much time and detail put into such a small object. It turned out amazing

    The level of control this man has is astonishing. The way you added material, I was not expecting! It was so controlled and satisfying to watch! The darker to lighter shades of parts, especially the horns gives it so much depth and beauty. And the choice of colour for Chinese looking dragon is perfect. Also the choice of music for this video fit the carving process so well! Incredible carving my friend. I look forward to more and an easy subscribe

    unbelievable accuracy, who needs CAD!
    you should consider a getting a deep field microscope, I've seen wax carvers do unbelievable detail with them e.g. otto jakob
    you would be a god with one
    also your tools look impressive also, they look like modified nails!

    I think that the lip could hug the stone a bit more organic looking, but I'm blown away by the skill of the overall piece. It's incredible the detail and depth to the ring.

    wow... very impressive. Before I became an engineer I completed an apprenticeship as a Goldsmith (3.5 years)...never have I seen a colleague with this level of skill.
