everyone's talking about the detail but the fact that the artisan kept such good track of the bigger picture and used that detail without muddying the larger forms is what really wows me
I agree with you! The most important aspect of a sculpture is a bigger picture. I think a piece without a bigger picture is like having your skin covered without bones. And the process of drawing a big picture is the most fun :)
@@ape_object Please dont tell me you eye balled everything without a microscope ? @@onetwo-gt2tr I think the wax will be used as a mould to cast metal later. Wax by itself is too fragile to be worn as a ring. So depending on the metal used as well as the gemstone used, its value will be higher than diamond on a metal torus.
Seeing your process of subtracting and adding material over and over in such detail is captivating, but watching the Jade Dragon come to life put the fire in my eyes.
Wow, this is a top-level artisan. Knowing exactly when, why, and how to use all of those different tools and attachments is not something you learn overnight.
The actual jewelry making here is obviously incredible, but I want to give a shout out to the video production! You did an amazing job balancing the audio of scraping and grinding tools with really soothing musical beats- it’s gentle and satisfying and still feels connected to the functional artistry 😍
3D media artistry is mind-blowing to me. I'm a 2D artist, with what my natural inclination is, and things like carving, pottery, and so on... they've always seemed so challenging. It's such a different mindset in the creation process, sometimes. Well done on such an articulate piece. It turned out amazing!
Using wax as a sculpting media is so impressive and beautiful. Definitely out of my hands because I thought it couldn't be done. The level of craftsmanship and patience is amazing.
Thank you for becoming an artist. Your work will go on to inspire others such as myself, and it makes me want to try carving again, if not just a little bit!
One of the most fascinating things I've ever seen. The steady hand, and ability to visualize the end project is just something I can hardly even comprehend. Thanks for sharing
I usually don't comment in these type of videos, just appreciate the art in silent. However... I can't explain how inmerse i was watching this video, this is peak art!
When a skill level in crafting is so high, seeing how to makes a work seen easy. I don't know how many years of practice a mortal needs to done something like that, but in my honest opinion, more than i have left to live. I wanna see the final piece when its done. Regards from Spain.
I was absolutely in awe watching this, amazing craftsmanship! I found it so cool how they were able to build up layers and sculpt it into a beautifully small but intricately designed piece of art 😍
This is the first video in ages that I've watched all the way through without feeling the need to pick up my phone. Amazing talent. Subscribed, liked, saved.
Incredible!!! I would crawl naked over broken glass to have 1% of this artist’s skill. I know it’s wax, but to achieve this much detail on a piece so small is just , again, incredible
Dude you need way more subs and views just for the absolute skill that you have in carving wax. The precision is absolutely insane. Truly a marvel to see how skilled you are.
I never see any jewelry on my recommended as I don’t wear or care for jewelry much if at all. This was fascinating to watch though, so much time and detail put into such a small object. It turned out amazing
The level of control this man has is astonishing. The way you added material, I was not expecting! It was so controlled and satisfying to watch! The darker to lighter shades of parts, especially the horns gives it so much depth and beauty. And the choice of colour for Chinese looking dragon is perfect. Also the choice of music for this video fit the carving process so well! Incredible carving my friend. I look forward to more and an easy subscribe
unbelievable accuracy, who needs CAD! you should consider a getting a deep field microscope, I've seen wax carvers do unbelievable detail with them e.g. otto jakob you would be a god with one also your tools look impressive also, they look like modified nails!
Beeindruckende Arbeit auf einem sehr hohen Level. Das Endergebnis sah wunderschön aus. Ich bin immer wieder fasziniert wie Talentierte Menschen aus dem Nichts etwas außergewöhnliches erschaffen. Meine Hochachtung 👍
I think that the lip could hug the stone a bit more organic looking, but I'm blown away by the skill of the overall piece. It's incredible the detail and depth to the ring.
wow... very impressive. Before I became an engineer I completed an apprenticeship as a Goldsmith (3.5 years)...never have I seen a colleague with this level of skill.

The fact that you're not using a vice and just holding that thing for such detailed carving is mental. Absolutely surgical level of precision.
This seems more valuable than just plopping a diamond on a metal torus
Try to convince your fiance of that.

I need to see it cast!
I need to as well
Yes!!! Where is the final ring???
I dont think you can with all this detail and geometry, and since it has a stone already i dont think its meant
@@Saleca of course you can cast it, the stone isnt set, its just there for placement. this is meant for lost wax casting
@@SalecaIt's not necessarily a stone, might be a plastic or resin bead that'll burn along with the wax.
This is the height of craftsmanship and artistry.

Crazy detail. I don’t think anybody does this except here.
