Directions - Take the Long Island Expressway to exit 62 (RT 97 - Nicholls Road). Take Route 97 North to Route 25, Smithtown/Riverhead exit. Proceed on Route 25 west toward Smithtown to Eastwood Blvd. Take a right on Eastwood Blvd. Continue to School Street. Make a left onto School Street.

Passed here today! Lady was quite neutral but nice at the same time, she complemented me throughout the test and that’s when I new I would pass. Took it in Riverhead twice and I failed, but went here and it was much more low key. Third time is a charm. As long as you can parallel park and look before your turns you should be fine. Good luck 👍

Yaboh 1 yes you have to turn at the red light, and when you get to another light you have to turn left, and when the light turns green make sure to drive under the light and wait for the cars to go passed then make your turn, good luck. It was like 7 minutes long also it was very quick

What does she look like? My daughter just took hers there and failed miserably, lady was a real bitch even before daughter got behind the wheel.

I failed the test there twice back in the early 80s. The second time wasn't my fault! Passed on my third try. I can't believe they're still using the same course.

I just passed here today, it was around 5 minutes just be ready a decent amount of the instructors are strict and stern. Just try to keep cool and drive confidentially, as long as you look before your turns and parallel parking you should be fine.

@@alizaamir8387 Different instructors give different routes, my friend had the one in this video. For me I had a lady who made me take a right after the first left at the light, when making the right make sure to full stop and check left before going. We then went straight for a while and I parallel parked, pulled out went straight a bit longer I then pulled over, did a three point turn and went my way back to the testing site. Thanks!

Just passed here today after failing in Riverhead. Imo, this is easier than riverhead, wider streets, all way stops instead of regular stops (less right of way issues)
Very similar route except the actual road test is much much shorter. Only about 5 min

Hi, Congrats!! Was it the same route as the video? and did you do the 3 point turn ? cause I read some comments, some of them didn't mention about 3 point turn. Just drive, parallel park and drive back to school street. I will have mine on Oct 28.

I just took mine and literally flopped in 2 minutes, the lanes were messed up and completely faded due to potholes! 😩 and my proctor was a rude fella :/ he made me extremely nervous and kept calling me bud. I’m retaking it in two weeks and I’m praying I don’t get him again. I wish I found this video prior to taking my test today.

@@tatimaria5864 I just took my time and made sure mirrors were adjusted, and pay attention.. That last one is important. Be nice and easy on the gas and brake. It's not that hard but don't let your nerves get the best of you. Take some deep breaths and you'll pass.

I've had two foreign drivers licenses. But I have to say, if you live on Long Island this is one of the easiest places to pass your test. I passed mine within 5 minutes of driving. There's a elderly black women that conducted my test, and she was very kind and positive minded.
It is the easiest on Long Island!

During road test can i make a right turn on red light if there is no any sign of "NO TURN ON RED" or need to wait for green signal to make a right turn because its a road test. I know in normal practice we make right turn on red light if no any sign but need to confirm can i do it road test ????
In NYC not allow you to make right on red unless it’s said but upstate is okey to make right in RED LIGHTH where you are taking the test?
Yes you can turn right on red even on your road test Just make sure you come to a full stop and look both ways especially to the left double check then proceed with your right turn
My examiner said he doesn’t allow right on red, I usually don’t like turning until the light is green

@@michelleshnayder2771 very late but it does, I’ve taken the test here twice and sometimes they take you further up the road you make the initial right off of school street from, if you go further up and to the right there’s the kindergarten center

@@vanessaschook6343 I stopped at the white line, and make sure u look both ways while crossing the intersection! Very important they take off points for that

yes it’s an automatic fail (speaking from experience lol)
So what’s the speed limit u should be doing at the test!
You can not exceed the speed limit on your road test on Long Island.
Residential areas have a 30 MPH speed limit, but they are often narrow streets with cars parked on both sides of the road. This makes it nearly impossible for two cars to pass by one another.
25 MPH max on a wider street, on a clear day in a residential area.
If it’s narrow and your vision is limited by lots of parked cars, you should be driving between 20-25 MPH
I have been a Driver’s Ed instructor on the island for over 25 years and spoken to numerous inspectors, regarding speed.
If you go over the posted limit it is an automatic failure.

Does anyone know if there is a school zone at this location? The building on the corner? It’s not clear if it’s a school or a church
Most of the site aren’t close to the school 🏫 because usually schools posting speed 20 therefore you shouldn’t practices next schools or playground due the safety

My main category of fail is driving too slow in traffic & when the instructor told me to start I vehicle I did so but forget to put it in drive 😅 i was like I did this a million times and that never happen why today …. I even had a 45min driving lesson that morning & did exceptionally well ….. the nervousness just happen automatically like I had no control over it 🤦🏾♀️ …

Idk what the hell happened with my test lol. We turned at the first light coming off the left at the library. Did the parallel park. I did numb the curb but didn’t ride over the curb. Re adjusted and seemed to have done it right. Pulled straight and then went right back to the red light to the left of the library. The no turn on red sign across from me seemed to b pointing in my direction so I didn’t go. And that might’ve failed me idk. But then went right back to the start. As far as I know. The parallel park isn’t a fail if u numb the curb and readjust. So idk why it was so quick. And I never had to do a three point turn. And results rn are online. So I have ti wait another 4 hours till I get my results
3 point turn is required if u didn’t complete it u might of failed good luck though lmk if u passed

@@dalmbros8917 I had 5 points off for excessive maneuvering. I’ve been driving for about 5 years, so I was kinda forcing myself to drive safely.
And u can drive after u get ur results if u print out ur temporary license (Ull see an option to view ur temporary license under ur results page)
Other than that. They’ll send u ur actual new license in the mail a day or so after ur test. And it will b automatically sent to ur current address that the state has on file. So if uve never moved or changed location then no worries. If u have moved recently and need to update ur address like I did. Call immediately the day after the test or as soon as possible to update the address that they will send it to.
@@atderk thank u so much your a goat fr I go there 14 of December I failed my recently and than broke my foot right after was a miserable day I had a very rude Asian lady and she took off so many points for nothing. She said one i was too slow and impeding traffic flow speed limit in Hicksville is 30 which is 20 pts which is crazy bc I’m following the law
I went 25 just a tad bit slower.
Then she I said I failed to signal 3 times one approaching intersection and twice at stop sign and one with my 3 pt . I did signal and she still got mad at me she said I signaled too early, I signaled 100 ft before stop which is the law and for my 3 pts turn I made sure to signal left,right, left again. Than we were on 2 way street but traffic was mild and cars where parked on both sides so I went a bit closer to line so I wouldn’t hit mirror of other car parked and she said I failed to keep right. other than that I had one mistake I felt I personally made but that was 10 pts I hope
I do better next time I’m worried and haven’t done well I failed 3 times and I’m losing hope

Lucky, I failed miserably kind of don’t want to take another road test after that experience but I can’t back down now I have to keep getting better I’ll get it eventually
@@colonelyungblonsk7730 Damn was it really that bad? Dw though I know you'll pass your road test for sure. I honestly thought I failed when I took mine over there but I was lucky that I passed. Just try to stay calm and keep your coo,l it usually lasts for 5 minutes but no more than 10 though. There's definitely other places where you can take it if you really don't wanna take it there again.

Just I failed bcz its really busy road when I want turn right omg. And the hiper examiner make me fail she told me too slow. I can't suggest any one taking driving license from long island. Its my opinion

I had a test here today, the examiner having ID 586 was really rude because he was extra fat and my car sentra 2018 seat was not enough for him neither the height nor width . His weight was more than 260LBs and it's why he was angry and he did fail me. DMV should change the job of people having such a extra ordinary weight and body structure.

oh my god lord did i flub my test today folks! hahaha she was mean but she was also right. idk. its not like i was drunk and going 90 mph over lawns. i just didn't appreciate, even after being a really solid defensive driver for years, the value of a lot of practice IN THE VEHICLE youre gonna test in. However that's gotta work, do it! Muscle memory folks. I'm a violinist and it's really the same. I'm still unclear about the stop sign followed immediately by a stop line....is that TWO FULL STOPS? Or DECELERATING THRU THE SIGN and only stopping at the line?? Jury's out. HELP!
My last left onto the School St was a disaster. Too fast (again not nuts, but too fast) and it's all practice!

god please don’t give up!! i’ve failed 3x and i’m still trying. write down what you failed and try to improve on what you failed but also your driving in general because i’ve made the mistake of focusing on what i failed on and winded up failing something stupid because i was too focused on my errors
