9 and 10 on top Fantastic. Brilliant. Matt smiths one actually made me quit binge watching the series. Then they made it worse. Twice 12 is weird Super weird. But maybe a bit better
can we just appreciate Dr. Who was started by a basically the equivalent of a backwater studio in Wales in the 1960s, then grew within the space age to be a defining image of British culture and television? That's a serious achievement right there.
Alex Basha and it’s the perfect in-between of seasons 2 and 3 which is amazing because the S2 intro is the DW we all know and love and S3 is an immediate elevation from that especially with the percussion
Each intro gives off the vibes and atmosphere of their respective doctors. The 9th sounds very early 2000s like and slightly dark. The 10th sounds upbeat and cool. The 11th looks really carefree but still serious, as the doctor is carelessly flinging his tardis through the time vortex. The 12th sounds really serious and mysterious.
Will never forgot seeing 9th doctor titles for the first time. They simple rather simple these days...but having seen Old Who episodes as a young child....then this new bigger budget series...at the time was mind blowing. Run for you life....bang...explosion on the roof. Doctor who was back.
So much care went into 2005 that we even had alternating intro themes and we didn't even realise until later. We really were treated better if we're honest
Bless your hearts, been watching too much soap opera had to come back to this and hey! They got a doc face back on the screen, at last! Happy Holidays y'all!
thankyou for adding all the different versions of each doctor, not many clips ive seen include the variations but you went into so much detail and i didnt know some of the themes changed for just one episode. Very well done
My absolute faves are the 2007 10th doctor title and the 2010 11th doctor title. I just really like the whole dramatic feel in the 2010 one and the drums/guitar in the 2007 one.
Matthew Callon There is a slight variation of the 9th and 10th doctor theme, I couldn't find a good 9th doctor theme, and since the 10th 2006 one sounds almost the same, I decided to use that... if you look at the BBC official 9th doctor titles, you'll here the difference
12 Doctor Titles are the most unique intresting choice instead of the usual blue and red Vortex its like a swirling clock with planets in the background and you got the gears too kinda get the feeling that its like steampunk and Capaldi's face in the title sequence like how it was back in Classic
I still struggle to see diffences between 9th and 10ths. And somehow I completely forgot about the 11ths doctors later sequence. I guess I must have been skipping intros at that point
I don’t think planet of the dead used that opening mate. Have it pulled up and it’s actually series 4 rock titles because it’s from the series 4 specials. 2005 10th is actually Christmas Special: The Christmas Invasion (2005)
Well, I was just looking at the name that he DID put there (which was Planet of the Dead) and assumed that he meant The Impossible Planet. The mistake of naming that as the "first aired" of that title sequence is another bag of jelly babies all together.
12th is the best by a country mile! Imaginative, weird, different, very topical to the theme of the show, not just a boring vortex (which got a little bit tiring) and they were inspired by a fan made piece, thats why I love them!
In my opinion, it's symbolic to when the 10th Doctor regenerated into the 11th Doctor, look it up, you'll understand what I'm saying more if you watch it
Ive seen so many videos where for some reason "The Christmas Invasion" is replaced with "The Stolen Earth" when david tennants original sequence comes on, even though the latter didnt use it.
The 9th & 10th doctor themes are definitely the best, and yeah I get it’s nostalgic, but nobody is appreciating 12’s theme. I think that one follows close behind RTD era. It’s so different and creative, it’s fun. It has a cool look. It’s a great idea. Always loved it. It never got its due appreciation. Either way, all these themes are great. Ultimate childhood right here. At least they sound good, and actually try something new and creative, and they do it right. Unlike 13’s…. Very noticeable drop in quality. These were the days…
I miss the whole sci-fi awesome visuals time vortex with the blue/purple into the red/orange one that actually made it look like some sorta temporal energy
The 2012 theme is just the puberty of the 2010 intro turning into the 2013 intro. And Series 7 episode 6 just has no titles in the intro. Because.. Why not
So the series 2 opening first aired in the series 4 special "Planet of the dead"?🤔 Also the series 3 opening first aired in a series 3 christmas special at the end of the series.
The show from 2005 to the end of 2009 (eccleston and tennant error) had such a great feel to it however after that the show just became a great cock up. I've been watching series 10 and It just makes me miss tennant even more 🙁I wish he didn't go.
Funny thing about "The Snowmen", y'all remember when The Doctor calls Strax a "Psychotic Potato Dwarf"? (If not, just work with me on this), well, I was searching Amazon.com the other day, and found a piece of Doctor Who music literally called "Psychotic Potato Dwarf", i mean it's not that great in my opinion but still.
The Tenth Doctor and Eleventh's Doctor intros will always be my favorite ones
9: mysterious, dramatic violin action
10 original: cool, keeps to the traditional opening of dw
10 rock: N I C E
11: Very dramatic, SO MANY TRUMPETS, badassery at its finest,Choir on p o i n t
12: R E EEE E E EE E E E E EEE E E E E E E EE E E E E E EEE E E EE E
Yes.,
13: DROP DAH BASS! *BWOOOOOOMMM*
9 and 10 on top
Fantastic.
Brilliant.
Matt smiths one actually made me quit binge watching the series.
Then they made it worse.
Twice
12 is weird
Super weird.
But maybe a bit better
Same for me except Tennant's Intro from 2023 got me back to watching Doctor Who
can we just appreciate Dr. Who was started by a basically the equivalent of a backwater studio in Wales in the 1960s, then grew within the space age to be a defining image of British culture and television? That's a serious achievement right there.
It wasn't a backwater studio in Wales in the 60s, it was Lime Grove in London. Doctor Who being produced in Wales was for the 2005 series onwards
Moreover, it began with a huge air time disruption. The assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Seriously, the day before the show aired.
aye, sure
9th and 10th Doctor titles will always be my favourite...
Me too!
Same
Also,but before the 11th theme
9th and 10th forever
Same
The season 4 intro with percussion and electric guitar is my favourite one
Alex Basha and it’s the perfect in-between of seasons 2 and 3 which is amazing because the S2 intro is the DW we all know and love and S3 is an immediate elevation from that especially with the percussion
No that’s series 9.
2008 theme is the best theme ever
Daniel French IYO. (Whatever that means, as I seem to have forgotten.
I agree with Daniel. Also, 10 will always be the best Doctor.
Byakuya Kuchiki I stopped watching after 11. The reboot theme always felt so epic.
Why?
Daniel French you are right. I also like the the 2013 theme
1:01 - The first theme for me, the fast pace and slightly rocky time to it. Bliss!
It's perfect
My mum said 'they all sound the same' bish whut
Robin Linnenkamp Lol
They are meant to all sound the same lol. Doctor Who's theme has not changed in 50 years
@@harry4918 no as in like not hearing all the new added instruments added to it. She hears the EXACT same theme
I'm assuming so :/
You wot m8
@@harry4918 Thry have sounded a little different but mostly the same
Will never forgot seeing 9th doctor titles for the first time. They simple rather simple these days...but having seen Old Who episodes as a young child....then this new bigger budget series...at the time was mind blowing. Run for you life....bang...explosion on the roof. Doctor who was back.
This is quite thorough... and thank you for being reasonable and compressing the minor variations into one.
I just like hearing Matt Smith's Doctor Intros...gives me a good feeling travelling through my spine.
I love the transition from the 11th to the 12th when the TARDIS Opens up
That mix to 11b and 12 was godly
Tennant Era had the best openings
My 2nd doctor lve seen in 2014.
Matt Smith Too, the best atmospheric intro's, good sound and beautiful visual
I think Matt smiths last one is better.
I agree David Tennant will always be my favourite (10th Doctor)
So much care went into 2005 that we even had alternating intro themes and we didn't even realise until later. We really were treated better if we're honest
what do you mean?
Bless your hearts, been watching too much soap opera had to come back to this and hey! They got a doc face back on the screen, at last! Happy Holidays y'all!
thankyou for adding all the different versions of each doctor, not many clips ive seen include the variations but you went into so much detail and i didnt know some of the themes changed for just one episode. Very well done
Correction: The second titles first aired on the Christmas invasion not planet of the dead
My absolute faves are the 2007 10th doctor title and the 2010 11th doctor title. I just really like the whole dramatic feel in the 2010 one and the drums/guitar in the 2007 one.
The 11th Doctor's opening will ALWAYS be my favorite 😍😍😄
Nina Arsenic yep same
Nina Arsenic Which one? He had like. 11.😏
Tobito TV nah 2008 opening titles
yep same
no
Im the only one who loves the 9th doctor and his theme on this comment list :/
Matthew Callon I like all themes, but 10th 2006 one is the best for me
Oh alright, BTW is the 9th - 10th doctor intros - themes the same ?
Matthew Callon There is a slight variation of the 9th and 10th doctor theme, I couldn't find a good 9th doctor theme, and since the 10th 2006 one sounds almost the same, I decided to use that... if you look at the BBC official 9th doctor titles, you'll here the difference
ahh ok thanks
I love him too very much, Nine is the best
Honestly the two of my favorite doctors of all time are the tenth and eleventh. I just find it nostalgic coming back to these title sequences
I find them all nostalgic. It's strange.
You also missed Cold War, which is S7B but with an extra bar of music near the end
The 2010 theme is a great one
I love the TARDIS noise at 2:50, they definitely should’ve kept that
Murray Gold was really cooking with the Voyage of the damned opening good lord
2:00 will always be my favourite theme. I like all the 11th Doctors themes
Love Doctor Who and the theme. Watched it since 2005.
I hated 12th theme at first but now I kind of like it, my favourite is still the one that first aired on "voyage of the dammed
I was same, I found it a bit cringed up now I LOVE it, but mine is still the best. Mine has a god like approach to the theme.
I love how it gets more dramatic as the intros go by
You can hear the original theme in 9 and 10 themes which I think Russel t Davies and his team did out respect which I also respect
The titles at 0:30 originally aired in christmas invasion not planet of the dead that came out way later
I like when The TARDIS makes noise in the time vortex In Doctor Who Series 6 . Legend of The Time Lord 👍
12 Doctor Titles are the most unique intresting choice instead of the usual blue and red Vortex its like a swirling clock with planets in the background and you got the gears too kinda get the feeling that its like steampunk and Capaldi's face in the title sequence like how it was back in Classic
though 0:01 was my first intro, 0:59 has always been my favourite
0:30 that's the sound of my childhood 🥰
david tennant themes ROCK
The time for me right now is 11:55pm I think I should not be up watching this but I am
Gotta be 1:28 for me, shit actually SLAPS
Not on The Planet of the Dead. It is on Christmas Invasion
I still struggle to see diffences between 9th and 10ths. And somehow I completely forgot about the 11ths doctors later sequence. I guess I must have been skipping intros at that point
omg the feels
Really looking forward to the updated version! Hopefully Jodie gets a good vortex to time travel through!
I don’t think planet of the dead used that opening mate. Have it pulled up and it’s actually series 4 rock titles because it’s from the series 4 specials. 2005 10th is actually Christmas Special: The Christmas Invasion (2005)
Great video
This was my childhood in a nutshell
All thumbs up for the music Doctor Who Theme Song
Series 4 intro gives me gossebumps with the violin fuckin amazing intro
0:37, I think you mean The Impossible Planet. The Planet of the Dead is the Tennant 2008 Easter special with Michelle Ryan.
Yeah! But I think it first aired on The Christmas Invasion, I think. BTW Nice profile pic.
Impossible Planet? It's the Christmas Invasion
Well, I was just looking at the name that he DID put there (which was Planet of the Dead) and assumed that he meant The Impossible Planet. The mistake of naming that as the "first aired" of that title sequence is another bag of jelly babies all together.
Also it was the 2009 Easter Special and the first story to be in HD for Doctor Who. It was widescreen since 2005...
You've lost me.
12th is the best by a country mile! Imaginative, weird, different, very topical to the theme of the show, not just a boring vortex (which got a little bit tiring) and they were inspired by a fan made piece, thats why I love them!
I think all Series of Doctor Who are Absolutely Fantastic 👍
TIME TRAVEL IS DANGEROUS
Because time traveller can change his or her mind from avoiding dangerous time period to travelling to Jurassic period.
you should update it for the 13th Doctor when her series comes out
Muhaimen Khan Will do! I'll let you know when it will be uploaded
Woman Doctor is gonna be awesome, cant wait!
Muhaimen Khan *reads comment*
*thinks*
Muhaimen Khan for her series
Muhaimen Khan her
Thumbs up if you understand the fire in the 11th Doctor's opening
What does it mean?
In my opinion, it's symbolic to when the 10th Doctor regenerated into the 11th Doctor, look it up, you'll understand what I'm saying more if you watch it
Ive seen so many videos where for some reason "The Christmas Invasion" is replaced with "The Stolen Earth" when david tennants original sequence comes on, even though the latter didnt use it.
I love them all
9th doctor is my favorite
9th through 11th is gold
The 11th doctor is my favorite!!! He’s not to dramatic and just really funny
I love it but why do the transitions cut into the end parts those are still great parts that are being cut out 😢
You always my favourite David Tennant best Doctor Who ever
10th doctor had the best theme opening .
9th and 10th and 12 are the 2 favs for me I won't say best because best is a relative term
The 11th Doctor theme is my favorite!
Wow you are super !!! (I'm french)
Thumb Up if you can't wait for the next/new vortex
I've been in the future and came to warn.. There is no vortex, only feminism
It's crap. Sorry to disappoint.
I like Christopher Ecclonston and Peter Capaldis Doctor Who intro. They are the best 👍
They were my favourite doctors too
I used to think 12th Doctors titles were meant to hypnotise you.
david tennent them tune got swagg
doctor who
2:59 :O Where did you find the one on the bottom right corner
When doctor who was good 9th thru 11th
Ah, David Tennant, My favorite Doctor!
My favourite will always be the series 4 theme but they all bring a different sense of nostalgia..
I hope 13th doctor will be successfull, 13 is a unlucky number though...
And thats what happend,
Thanks Chris!
for ruining a perfect show
I miss the whole sci-fi awesome visuals time vortex with the blue/purple into the red/orange one that actually made it look like some sorta temporal energy
Matt Smith title first one is terribly scary.
The 2012 theme is just the puberty of the 2010 intro turning into the 2013 intro. And Series 7 episode 6 just has no titles in the intro. Because.. Why not
I don’t care what anyone’s say the 12th doctors intro is the best
Thank you, I was looking for this comment.
So the series 2 opening first aired in the series 4 special "Planet of the dead"?🤔
Also the series 3 opening first aired in a series 3 christmas special at the end of the series.
Actually the 1st 10th doctor intro was aired on the Christmas invasion
The show peaked with the first 3 intros...
The show from 2005 to the end of 2009 (eccleston and tennant error) had such a great feel to it however after that the show just became a great cock up. I've been watching series 10 and It just makes me miss tennant even more 🙁I wish he didn't go.
C4M HD i used to think that but series. 10 is great
C4M HD era not error, its just era with an accent which sounds just like error
nah after smith left it got worse
I'm sorry but series 10 is literally one of my favourite series of doctor who
Good time to be a Tennant fan. 😁
I didnt know there were so many subtle variations
Very good
4:21 all it is with this theme change is the Boom herr
its a good video buddy but i would advise to sorting the audio out :)
I wonder what the intro will e now, as we have David Tennant back
When i hear these themes i hear my childhiod
0:37 should be from 2005's "The Christmas Invasion", I think.
Intro 2010 - 2011 causes a chronic headache. 😵💫😵💫😵💫
My favourite theme arrangement is season 4, my favorite opening sequence is season 7 part 2.
Funny thing about "The Snowmen", y'all remember when The Doctor calls Strax a "Psychotic Potato Dwarf"? (If not, just work with me on this), well, I was searching Amazon.com the other day, and found a piece of Doctor Who music literally called "Psychotic Potato Dwarf", i mean it's not that great in my opinion but still.
only ones i watched
I think you forgot the Christmas special title for the twelfth doctor
10th doctor’s planet of the Dead intro is the best imo
You forgot Capaldi's Rock theme 😔
