can we just appreciate Dr. Who was started by a basically the equivalent of a backwater studio in Wales in the 1960s, then grew within the space age to be a defining image of British culture and television? That's a serious achievement right there.
It wasn't a backwater studio in Wales in the 60s, it was Lime Grove in London. Doctor Who being produced in Wales was for the 2005 series onwards
Moreover, it began with a huge air time disruption. The assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Seriously, the day before the show aired.

Alex Basha and it’s the perfect in-between of seasons 2 and 3 which is amazing because the S2 intro is the DW we all know and love and S3 is an immediate elevation from that especially with the percussion

Each intro gives off the vibes and atmosphere of their respective doctors. The 9th sounds very early 2000s like and slightly dark. The 10th sounds upbeat and cool. The 11th looks really carefree but still serious, as the doctor is carelessly flinging his tardis through the time vortex. The 12th sounds really serious and mysterious.

So much care went into 2005 that we even had alternating intro themes and we didn't even realise until later. We really were treated better if we're honest

Will never forgot seeing 9th doctor titles for the first time. They simple rather simple these days...but having seen Old Who episodes as a young child....then this new bigger budget series...at the time was mind blowing. Run for you life....bang...explosion on the roof. Doctor who was back.
I hated 12th theme at first but now I kind of like it, my favourite is still the one that first aired on "voyage of the dammed
I was same, I found it a bit cringed up now I LOVE it, but mine is still the best. Mine has a god like approach to the theme.

Matthew Callon There is a slight variation of the 9th and 10th doctor theme, I couldn't find a good 9th doctor theme, and since the 10th 2006 one sounds almost the same, I decided to use that... if you look at the BBC official 9th doctor titles, you'll here the difference

thankyou for adding all the different versions of each doctor, not many clips ive seen include the variations but you went into so much detail and i didnt know some of the themes changed for just one episode. Very well done
My absolute faves are the 2007 10th doctor title and the 2010 11th doctor title. I just really like the whole dramatic feel in the 2010 one and the drums/guitar in the 2007 one.

You can hear the original theme in 9 and 10 themes which I think Russel t Davies and his team did out respect which I also respect

I still struggle to see diffences between 9th and 10ths. And somehow I completely forgot about the 11ths doctors later sequence. I guess I must have been skipping intros at that point

Well, I was just looking at the name that he DID put there (which was Planet of the Dead) and assumed that he meant The Impossible Planet. The mistake of naming that as the "first aired" of that title sequence is another bag of jelly babies all together.
Also it was the 2009 Easter Special and the first story to be in HD for Doctor Who. It was widescreen since 2005...

In my opinion, it's symbolic to when the 10th Doctor regenerated into the 11th Doctor, look it up, you'll understand what I'm saying more if you watch it
I used to think 12th Doctors titles were meant to hypnotise you.
12th is the best by a country mile! Imaginative, weird, different, very topical to the theme of the show, not just a boring vortex (which got a little bit tiring) and they were inspired by a fan made piece, thats why I love them!

The titles at 0:30 originally aired in christmas invasion not planet of the dead that came out way later

Ive seen so many videos where for some reason "The Christmas Invasion" is replaced with "The Stolen Earth" when david tennants original sequence comes on, even though the latter didnt use it.

The show from 2005 to the end of 2009 (eccleston and tennant error) had such a great feel to it however after that the show just became a great cock up. I've been watching series 10 and It just makes me miss tennant even more 🙁I wish he didn't go.

The 2012 theme is just the puberty of the 2010 intro turning into the 2013 intro. And Series 7 episode 6 just has no titles in the intro. Because.. Why not

I don’t think planet of the dead used that opening mate. Have it pulled up and it’s actually series 4 rock titles because it’s from the series 4 specials. 2005 10th is actually Christmas Special: The Christmas Invasion (2005)

Don't you mean the Christmas Invasion? Because if I remember correctly Planet Of the Dead was a episode special in Series 4
