  • Since the revival started 15 years ago, there have been some really epic TARDIS materialisations/de-materialisations over the years. This first volume contains some of my favourites. And before you complain that quite a few obvious ones are missing, check the second volume here: • Doctor Who - The Most ...

      Technically, that's not the 12th Doctor but the 12th Doctor did subconsciously choose his face as a reminder-specifically Donna's reminder-that anybody can be saved.

      It's basically a mix between the Dalek Theme and the Doctor Forever, I don't think it has been officially released. The nearest to that composition of the Doctor's theme can be heard on this track: ruclips.net/video/kWTMmI8eurM/видео.html

    Wonder if the "Parting of the Ways" materialisation would qualify, given it was at a moment when the Doctor was truly beaten and facing the end, only for the Tardis to return and unleash the "Bad Wolf" upon the Dalek Empire.

  • @UnclePengy

    The MOST epic dematerialization scene was in "City of Death" (1979) with John Cleese and Eleanor Bron as stuffy art critics believing the TARDIS was an art exhibit.

    • @DoctorVision
      @DoctorVision  8 месяцев назад

      No worries, welcome to the Whoniverse, I hope you will be very happy here...
      Basically, Peter Capaldi played a historical character in that episode called Lucius Caecilius who the Tenth Doctor saves along with his family from the destruction of Pompeii - a complete one-off appearance, something I'm sure he appreciated at the time, being a huge Doctor Who fan. He then played another character, John Frobisher, a member of the government in the third series of Torchwood (a Doctor Who spin-off series featuring Captain Jack).
      He then just happened to be cast by Steven Moffat a few years later as the 12th Doctor. Him having the same face is actually addressed in one of his later episodes - with a call-back to Pompeii - implying that he chose the face to remind himself who he is and what he stands for (as part of an ongoing story arc where he questions his morality: "Am I a good man?"): The Doctor, the man who saves people.
      I hope that clarifies things a little for you. If not, don't worry, it makes more sense as you watch the series.

    Not sure why The Eleventh Hour and The Witch's Familiar are in here, they're just ordinary materialisations.
    Since the RTD era, the TARDIS materialisation is just a fade in/out effect. Back then, the outline of the TARDIS is seen refracting the light through it.

    • @DoctorVision
      @DoctorVision  4 года назад +1

      The Eleventh Hour I included because for the first I liked the clapped-out TARDIS trying to materialise and the second I thought the addition of sound effects when the rejuvenated TARDIS takes off for the first time (thunderclaps) added to its "epicness". And as for The Witch's Familiar, how is the sight of the TARDIS piecing itself back together not "epic?" :D
