He smiles when he runs marathons and that tells us something about his incredible capacity and love for the sport. A real living legend.
No, it tells you he is crazy and not human. No sane person smiles while they run
He's high af on endorphins lol
@@dan8532 You obviously have not experienced the joy of running. Please try it before making dumb statements like this.
He often smiles to confuse his brain when it's hard
No, Eliud kipchoge is a robot so he can’t feel passionate about anything
The 2003 Paris 5000m world championship race is probably my favorite race in history. 3 of the greatest ever in one race and what a finish!

@@BobbyP5985 evil troll!!!
@@BobbyP5985 Why are you here?
@@humanforotherhumans why are you human?
When Kipchoge broke the 2 hour barrier his pace was under 2:50 min/km.... that is not human....
I was a middle distance runner, only ran three 10k's races with a pb of 33 50 and was beaten by Gretta Wietz in that race. I ran my heart out at that pace...cannot imagine how fast Kipchoge ran 26 miles. He has an engine for a heart 😁
@@noeljames1254 wow
Wtf
He did not break 2hour marathon record... The time was made with the help of drafting a car, that had huge wall on the back of it to aid the drafting aerodynamics+other runners in front of kip, again aiding him with the drafting. In other words he never had the same aerodynamic drag that you would have when you run marathon in normal conditions. When you take air&wind resistance away, the advantage is HUGE, maybe even over 10% advantage over normal running conditions.
Also he had some hightech carbon shoes that are not even allowed in comp due to spring effect. This ''record scam'' was only made to sell shoes.... its not marathon record
@@JH-fk8ow Doesn't matter. He did

He didn't make london 2012
@@reaganthai9529 : Thank you for the response. You are correct but Kipchoge's running career did not end in 2012. "A career spanning" is different than "He competed in."
@@kennethwoods6525 of course not I was just saying after 2012 he started doing marathons and the rest is history.
Steve Redgrave? I accept he was a rower, but he won 5 gold medals in five consecutive Olympics.
@@reaganthai9529 : Thank you for the clarity. Again, you are correct. Kipchoge ran the Lille, France Half-Marathon a few weeks after the London 2012 games took place. His marathon debut came on 21/Apr/2013 at the Haspa Hamburg Marathon. The rest, as you have eloquently stated, is history!

Your video’s production value is insane. So well done.
Your videos are so amazing. You are consistent and put so much effort into making these high quality videos for the world of running and you aren’t biased towards one running group. You do your in depth research on these top tier athletes and do such a great job glorifying the sport in a fun and educational way. I can tell you love what you do and you actually have a passion for the sport and that is what makes your videos stand out so much ! Your content is something I would expect to see as a docu-series on National television. Your channel is so amazing and you deserve all the blessings coming your way and to this channel. Keep up the good work man! Your videos are great!! @Total Running Productions

Kipchoge lives not far from where we live here. He is always up and running by early morning. Once my wife and I ran into him and his team at 5:30 am running. And unlike other Kenyan athletes who live around, whose names I won't mention (who go around in bars, pulling guns on innocent guys, snatching girls away from guys by force in clubs and generally being asses), he is a very good citizen as well. Hats off to him, may he live long and win many more races! The love and admiration the world shows him is all worth it!
PS: Micah Kogo, former world 10 km record holder, Moses Kiptanui (now a serial investor) and Catherine Ndereba, former marathon world champion and current Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, are other athletes whose lives and discipline are to be emulated here in Kenya.
Truth be told , Eluid is discipline
“The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
*He made his people and country soo proud. All the best man!!!* 👏👏👏🇰🇪❤
❤️🇰🇪.
Nothing is ridiculous for an athlete of Kipchoges ability.
As we know, Eluid Kipchoge, chooses his races carefully, and does not race for financial reward, as he has already made his millions.
When he focuses on a particular goal, he usually succeeds in his quest.
He is still the only runner to have ever gone under 2hrs for the distance, even if he was helped by a team of runners, but that fills a runner with so much confidence in his running ability.
Your narration and presentation is on point. Keeps me hooked on every time. Great Job!
It's interesting to see Kipchoge's lack of success at 10k despite being a gold medalist in the 5k and marathon.
By lack of success do you mean money?
What I really like about these videos is the effort that goes into detail. The athlete's background provides so much context for why a specific race would become a defining moment, but more importantly it tells us that these athletes, the GOATs, didn't always win. They're always portrayed as these unbeatable, larger-than-life characters, but knowing where they came from humanizes them and makes us aware of their effort and determination. It's so important for aspiring athletes to know that even the best of the best have finished second, third, seventh, several times before they got to where they are. Great video guys, keep up the good work!
I started Running last year. And running was good to me. Made me a happier person, more productive in life. Watching your videos motivated me somehow and obviously is a source of NEWS for me. Then I ended up injuring myself and now waiting for a surgery. When I stopped running I stopped watching your videos as well (I would say watching it makes me sad, cheesy stuff). Then I can’t help watching this video… gotta say, I do miss your Commentary voice hahahah🤣

At 38 years old, Carlos Lopes, a Portuguese former marathon world record holder (1985), won the Olympic Gold Medal in the marathon, so, it is possible for Kipchoge to win.
If he stays injury free and if his form doesn't fall much, he can do that. But there are great young runners out there that might be its biggest challenge.
Under very harsh (hot) weather conditions. It was in Los Angeles.
If he competes, he'll definitely win. Always great content, awesome job.🔥🔥🔥👍👍

2:55 I absolutely love the handshake here between Kipchoge and El Gerrouj. There's the slight pause, and then Kipchoge gives such a hype handshake
Inspirational. Thank you.
More emphasis on the mental toughness… this man is on another level. His masseur once said, even when in pain he never complains … he focus and somehow get the work done.
Back in 2005, I made the following statement" I think we have seen the future record holder in the marathon in this race and his name is Kipchoge. His final kick to the finish was effortless and crossed the finish line with all smiles. Kipsang was a bit more deflated"
ruclips.net/video/5pIp2MRJDDE/видео.html
I knew that Kipchoge had what it took to pave the way to 2:00hour marathons and faster. As history shows, once one athlete shows that it CAN be done, the rest follow. I have zero doubts that Kipchoge will continue to dominate the field for the next year or so but in 2024 we will see a new breed of much younger talent. Mainly coming from the Uganda region. These young runners who have a significant age advantage (younger than Kipchoge) have learned the training needed to dish out sub 58m half marathons. Runners like Kiplimo, Kamworow and Kandie. I can see any of these young runners (if not all of them) graduating to the Full Marathon. As great as Kipchoge and Bekele are, age is no longer on their side. Besides, they both have nothing to prove. Such great role models for the new generation of half and full marathon runners.
yeah makes you wonder what the limit is
Haha, bro that's dope.
Great call then and good to highlight the new names to watch 👏🏻
This man has unreal discipline, training, and heart health. Props to him and to you for creating this great video.
And before 2024, if he gets the right weather, when he's feeling just right, he'll get that official world record under 2 hours. It's there, he can definitely do it, but like any marathon record, just needs a couple things to cooperate.
Amazing quality!

I’m really hoping that this next Olympics we get a showdown between Bekele and Kipchoge. It would be legendary.
Exactly zero chance
At the next 2024 Olympics Bekele will be 42years 1 month old and Kipchoge will be 39 years 8months old. Bekele might not even make it to the Olympics let alone post a competitive time and chances of him posting a showdown time very low. SO chances of a showdown are almost zero.
