    I love that you explain what you’re doing and why. You’re very honest and real even when it doesn’t go exactly how you thought. I love that because it truly happens to all of us constantly! ❤️

    Yeah, that is an unusual color combo of warm/cool but because you blended so seamlessly that it doesn't scream see my demarcation line! Well done!

      That’s just the process of grey blending….. unless the client wants to spend unlimited amount of money to tackle it in one day. It’s slow and takes time to eliminate the old color, that’s why the warmth is left behind

    Great video explaining ,especially like how you explained the toner grabbing ,that happens on porous ends so much ,l now always put conditioner first and add tiny bit of gold to the formula .just wondering why you apply the bleach to the already light ends ? Did you do that only because she was having lots cut off anyways ?

    This is great! Just what I was looking for! My hair is VERY similar to your cousins (just curly and thick instead of straight and thin, haha) but the color is very similar. My natual color is dark brown, and I've got TONS of grey. I have been dying my hair blonde for about 7 years and I'm considering transitioning to full grey, but I want to do it SLOWLY. I want to just blend my grays in so I don't have to dye as often. And so that I have some multidimensionality to my hair. Can you link to the specific toners you use? Especially that rose gold, I LOVE IT!!! Also, I'd love an update on this in a few months! How often would you suggest doing this kind of treatment? I know you said she had been on a pretty regular 6 - 8 week schedule. I'm roughly on a 4 - 5 week schedule, although I recently went 8 weeks and it was BAAADDDD. Any advice would be so appreciated

      Hello! Her hair is actually very curly she just straightens it every day. I think if your wanting to blend it, Paul Mitchell 8PA/9V is a really pretty soft grey color if actual grey is a color you want.

    But if you do the money piece with 3 back to back foils, why is the weave necessary? Would it come out the same by foiling a slice? Thank you!

    Thank you for explaining exactly what you do and use that helps alot..! So my question is, if you do bleach for a silver color that you said it would take you from 8 to 12 hours how many times do you apply bleach on that day? Or how do you do it? Thank you again 😊

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  3 года назад +1

      It’s different for everyone.... everything at the line at demarcation: color remover, color remover, up to 3x, the tiniest micro weave foils for any pieces that would be lightest silver, sometimes bleach 1 sometimes 3. Everyone is different

    Will the semi permanent toner cover the grey or does it just help blend it? I want to try this on my client but I’m worried it won’t cover her grey enough. She doesn’t want to see any grey.

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  2 года назад

      This is for grey blending. If she wants it covered totally, permanent us needed. This is just for blending with grey to be more natural.

  • @tammyhoffman124

    So if they have a lot of grey and want to be blonde do you tone with like the N’s or G’s. I toned a little to cool and I wasn’t happy and retoned her she was ok with it I wasn’t. It was better after that but not exactly what I wanted. 🙄

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  3 года назад +1

      Is the point to blend grey, like the video? If so, I wouldn't use warmth at all cause the point is to blend with the grey. So cooler tones match better. Even if it's for more blonde, do a cool light blonde. The thing is if they have lots of warmth in the hair you might have to tone down darker to an actual ash/ grey color. That's something you have to talk with client about tho..... does she want to blend better? Go darker ashier..... If she doesn't care about the warmth, tone lighter but in my experience clients don't like the contrast of how warm the old color looks to grey hair. Again something they have to decide on. They need to know it's a work in progress, not something that's going to be perfect today. Unless they want to spend 8 hours at the salon and spend $600+.
      If it's too be just blonde, are you lifting old color making it brassy? I would still always tone cooler cause the hair is going to 100%of the time warm up. Just let them know, I'm toning cooler cause your going to warm up over time.

    Hi! Was the root smudge color you did permanent color? I tried a root smudge on a gray client with Demi and her roots are still gray

    • @hairbykristijennings6648
      @hairbykristijennings6648  3 года назад

      I never use permanent, however grey can be tricky. I've had to explain to grey clients that yes, either we have to do permanent for coverage, or if you go thru and do a heavy foil, you can use demi but just explain that their naturally grey that was subsectioned will stay natural

    My long time stylist, who was amazing and affordable, moved away 😭. Now I’m lost and can’t find anyone else. I just came across this video of you grey blending your cousins hair. How I wish you and I lived closer because I need you! She has hair very similar to mine. Only I am natural blonde. Medium to medium dark blonde. My grey is very light and sorta shimmery and it dominates like 95% on top and sides but darker and less in the back. How can I blend it better? I typically highlight and have very light pale blonde highlights usually with bleach. But I don’t know the easiest best way to blend that will be easy to do retouching. I am not ready to embrace full grey hair. Nope. And I can’t find a stylist that gets it right without making my hair too dark.
