As we age, our cheeks "drop" and add weight to the bottom of the face. I've always known I have a long oval face with a pointy chin. But now that I'm older my face is more oval because the extra weight in my lower face has eliminated my pointed chin. Things do change!

Oblong face here, and I'd NEVER go without some bangs. Sarah Jessica Parker would look less witchlike with some bangs. I've always wondered why the center part and no bangs with her, especially now that she's aging. Bangs can definitely soften the long face.
@ElizabethNoelleK sorry..I've always low key thought that for years..not to be cruel at all. I've never said it out loud even. Not really important enough I guess. No bangs are unflattering on a lot of people especially as they age..just fact.
It depends on the proportions of the face. sometimes the forehead is longer snd sometimes the chin is longer, although the overall face shape is long for both. People whose length is more in the lower part are not flattered by bangs because it makes the longer part look even longer when you cover the forehead. Bangs look best when your forehead is the longer part (or at least proportional).
The amount of space between the top of the hairline and the top of the head is important too. With a round face, and not much visual space above the hairline a centre part with hair hanging down is very unflattering. I look best with some height on top either a half or full updo with some tendrils for softness. As you age you definately want to pull the eye up, not down. These long centre part hairstyles don't really look good on very many people, in my opinion. Agree about bangs on round faces being a no no. Would like to see a video with normal people not celebrities. Thanks for the video.
The remark about confidence is spot on. Excellent point (and photos) of how age and weight gain or loss can change a face shape, and how to factor in hair type. I always find for a straight line it's best to cut the sides behind the shoulders, even with the back. You might have a bit of a soft angle if you wear your hair in front of your shoulders, but it does keep that nice straight line if everything is pushed back. If you do face framing you're still going to get some sort of curve most likely just because you would be softening the corners.
I have always had a slim heart shape face until a few years ago. Due to some medical issues, I was on prednisone & my weight ballooned out. Now I have a round face or heart/round shape face. I’ve worn textured bangs for 30 years. I have a flat head & a deep frown line between my brows that my bangs camouflage. A few years ago I had to move to NC to take care of my parents who had just moved to NC. I made an observation about bangs. I’ve noticed that bangs are not at all popular in the South or the East Coast. But they are very popular on the West Coast. I see women who really need bangs for their face but it’s like bangs are frowned upon. Is there some hidden Ivy League rule I am missing regarding bangs?
I didn't like this one as much as I was hoping to because I was really looking for more ideas for my squares face shape and it went through Square so fast that I blinked and missed it and had to rewind. And then didn't really get any information except don't have straight across bangs. I guess I'll wait until there's a hair for square Faces video
Pull your hair back and take lipstick while looking straight into the mirror and draw the outline of your face on the mirror. Then step back and you can see your face shape.
I'm so sorry, did I miss something with oblong....should avoid long hair, bangs, suit soft flowy...but what about the best haircut types..ie short, mid-length...I really struggle with finding what suits me especially as I get older. Are you able to clarify pls? Are there any celebs that don't have long hair with an oblong suited cut/style? Sorry I'm not trying to be painful..just a tad confused & would really appreciate the insight
Also Mila Kuniz's face changed from round in her honey days, like Selena's, but now is more oval. Her cheeks lost their volume & he chin appears more pronounced. I guess that demonstrates what you were saying about it possibly changing throughout your life.
No one is addressing some of us have a peanut shaped head small on the top and large on the bottom, upside down lightbulb. What about that? I don’t want to get fillers in my temples.
I think I have pear shaped face and I hate it. I cannot style my hair properly because my forehead is smaller than my cheeks area. My hair is curly but straighter at the top. And I cannot wear bangs. I straighten it. Because I have pear shape, I try to puff my hair at the top and would like it to drop thinner down below. I will always have my hair long, straight, parted in the middle and past the shoulder because I believe longer hair makes you look younger, always.
Heart shape~ I would say you have a heart shaped face. That being said, I'm wrong a lot, sooooo =) there's that. *Okay, so now I just watched the beginning, where you traced the dotte dlines around your face, so I'd say oval-ish...but still heart shaped. Heyyyy~ I got it right! or at least saw what you see, eh? Not bad, for a casual observer. Great post, loved it~ & I think I'm a squarish oval. Especially now that I'm older (58) & a bit jowly- which is fine. I simply wear glasses w/a bit of cateye to help pull that face up, same goes for makeup tricks & such. I agree w/you in that every face has beauty, character, & so much potential for having fun w/hair & makeup. This was fun!Samantha in AZ
I only count 3 sections with those four lines. Just sayin' because, remembering your words, when I looked in my mirror at my oblong face I struggled to find these "four sections" 🤣

Love your lipstick 💄. Could you please send me the link. 🙏
I believe I had a red lip in this video? It's an old KKW lipstick lol. Way past expiration I'm sure 😂.
I pulled my hair back to reveal a big basketball 🙈😂😂😂
Me too
@@jobo8143 LOL! What kind of hair cut do we need????😭😭😭
Me three.
Me 4 😢
Be happy. I saw a video of a woman needing a face transplant. You're doing great.
I agree. I think I have a elongated heart
I think I have that too. I wear my hair long and straight, with short feathered bangs that I sweep to each side. This brings my face to an oval.
@ exactly!
Is rectangular now oblong? Oblong seems too narrow for rectangular, which is more angular. Rectangular is more like square, but longer, right?
Also thought your shape is the heart 😊
I didn't like this one as much as I was hoping to because I was really looking for more ideas for my squares face shape and it went through Square so fast that I blinked and missed it and had to rewind. And then didn't really get any information except don't have straight across bangs. I guess I'll wait until there's a hair for square Faces video
Pull your hair back and take lipstick while looking straight into the mirror and draw the outline of your face on the mirror. Then step back and you can see your face shape.
Use styling gel for fine hair instead of mousse,it works better.
Do you do any virtual consultations?
So in short, we’re human and if you feel you look good, you will!
That's the same I thought about my face mixed shapes❤
I have a diamond shape face. I have fine hair and wear a pixie. What root lift product would you recommend? Thanks 😊
Still not sure what shape face I have. But anything I wear short or long I like crown height and bangs .
What to do it you have an oblong face but prefer short hair?
I would avoid any length right at the jaw. Lobs would be great and the shorter length can help you achieve more volume in the sides as well.
❤...good information.
What about long/oval?
I have a heart shaped face but narrow forehead what could be the best hair cut in this case?
Also Mila Kuniz's face changed from round in her honey days, like Selena's, but now is more oval. Her cheeks lost their volume & he chin appears more pronounced. I guess that demonstrates what you were saying about it possibly changing throughout your life.
You look amazing ❤
Thank you!
❤ shape
I agree with you. Your face is a mix of oval and heart shape.
your heart shaped, the hair parting off centre can hold really well with heart shaped faces
I thought oval at first, then heart. So, a mix between oval and heart is what I agree with
You look heart shape
No one is addressing some of us have a peanut shaped head small on the top and large on the bottom, upside down lightbulb. What about that? I don’t want to get fillers in my temples.
That would be similar to Triangle!
I think it would be helpful to show actual people with the various shaped faces.
I will always have my hair long, straight, parted in the middle and past the shoulder because I believe longer hair makes you look younger, always.
prevana sounds good but i do not use things with PEGs in them Any ideas
I think you have a heart shape face
I agree on your face shape
Amazing video, thanks ❤
I'm so glad you liked it!
I can’t still fine my face shape 😢 I am stuck betel diamond and triangle 😢😢😢😢😢 pls help me
I started life with a heart shaped face. Now I have jowls either side of my chin. So I don't know what shaped face it now makes me ?
Lo que yo pude observar, tu rostro es en forma de corazón ♥️
Thank you, Summer!
I have a mixture of oblong and round and square face. What shall I do?
Your face is classic round! Beautiful
Thanks!
At first glance.......ROUND
No, her chin and jawline are too slender for an exact “round.”
I have high cheekbones
Thank you
i love your Videos
👍👍👍
I love that you love them!
I think your face shape is heart.
Round, like mine. Lucky us!
*An "oveart"- there you go...sounds better than hearval, imho🥰
I believe you have a heart shaped face. Good video, thank you. ❤
Thanks for watching!
I only count 3 sections with those four lines. Just sayin' because, remembering your words, when I looked in my mirror at my oblong face I struggled to find these "four sections" 🤣
Heart shape, în my opinioon
What about inverted triangle??
Same as heart pretty much!
I just want to see you are absolutely gorgeous !!
