This looks great! How do you mow around that? I always get my lawnmower wheels caught in that trench. Everyone shows how to edge, but no one shows how to mow around it.

Best thing on a yard this size i would say do a lap with a push mower…to cut down on weedwacking and get a uniform cut. Then on to rider. If your talking about push mower wheels, got to stay off tge edge, unfortunately. Btw, You can always find a used beater for next to nothing on CL or yardsale if it’s for youreelf.

The edge really put the frosting on the cake homie, awesome job quality over quantity. I always recommend this method to my clients the natural edge instead of any other thing, and they are always very satisfying with results, you do more work but the results are better than any metal or plastic edge. Keep up the work.

How do you keep water from sitting in the trench after a good rain out? Just edged my flower bed and just had a good rain out today and I’m left with stagnant water.

    • @elitelandscapeslifestories

The mulch I use soaks most of the water up and it seeps into soil within a few hours at most. Maybe a River stone/rock border or apron would be better for that area?? 🤜🤛

You guys do beautiful work, I wonder why the home owners don’t have anything planted in the beds. Or have very little. If the beds were full of flowers they would be so beautiful. But what you guys do is perfect! I need to find some good mulch. My place has a bunch of edging needing to be done, somehow I end up doing the work myself. It takes me a little longer than a day I usually spend about a month getting it done. I have about an acre of flower beds. Maybe a bit more this year I added a small 60 foot by 10 food shrub and bulb bed.

Beds look amazing but that’s a lot of hard labor. Would you suggest a type of retaining wall/edging around beds if homeowners can’t budget to hire out and would have a hard time keeping up with this yearly or is this THE way to go in your opinion?
