Hey everyone, thank you so much for watching! Please consider subscribing to the channel. Hope you enjoyed the skit, and don't worry about my legs. I'll be able to walk again in no time lol!
Thank you so much James! She's a terrifying character that had me on the edge of my seat because of how unpredictable she was. She could literally treat me like royalty one second and then violently attack me the very next second. Thank you so much for the kind words on the skit! At some point I might do a little skit of something more serious but it would have to be the right film and moment. We shall see :)
It was so brutal, but damn it do I respect how they executed every detail of that scene! And thanks Rich! I had too much fun making this skit lol! The sledge hammer is just sitting next to the dresser in our master bedroom still haha!
I wish people stopped spoilers. Telling Jesse she’s a scary woman ruins the shock factor. Please recommend movies but don’t say anything about it. We want pure uncontaminated reactions 😅
Thanks Rottie! Something I'll say in their defense is that, I'm sure there may have been a few moments in the trailers back in the day that showed her as the villain. It is pretty awesome and preferable to go into these completely blind though and only knowing the genre. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
btw, the skits you do are so unique. Im bored by other reactors that dont seem to comprehend the story and obviously your view/intellegence allows you to add that creative and entertaining twist.
Love your reactions, Jesse! And that skit was perfect, lol! I also would have opted for the broken legs over those two initial methods of torture. Either that or having sriracha poured directly into my eyeballs.👀

Lol! It was so fun to make this skit! It was really last minute and I couldn't help myself FYI - my wife really does like those damn Hallmark movies and I leave the bedroom or living room as soon as she puts them on 😂
What a movie! Shows you how crazy fans can be, I mean you don't hear about murderous fans all that often, but the way some of them react to a later part of a series as if the writer personally insulted them, haha. And Jesse, A+ on the skit, it was cool to see some creative chops man. Hope you can think of some more fun stuff to do like that!
Hey Jordan! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! And yeah man it's scary to hear about all the true life stories of obsessed fans and what they've done to get close and even harm some of their targets. And thanks so much! It was fun to make the skit and I wonder what the cashier at Home Depot thought when I came in late at night to just buy a sledge hammer haha! I'll definitely think up some other stuff, and I'm hoping for one or two skits in December :) I hope you're enjoying the Holiday season!!
Just discovered yer channel & WOW, FINALLY, a reactor who's more sophisticated than a JUNIOR HIGH GIRL!!!! AND SKITS TOO???? So here goes, (My Skit).... YOU'VE "EARNED" MY SUB!!!! That cost nothing, risk free push of my keyboard that gains me pretty much nothing but makes me feel VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
I've been waiting for this reaction! My favorite Stephen King film adaption. Really enjoyed your reaction and can't for future Stephen King reactions. I like the idea of a video ranking the Stephen King adaptions you've seen. Happy Thanksgiving and sending a lot of love and support to you, your loved ones, and your channel!❤

@@jessebatres6895 Fun Fact: I was watching an interview with Kathy, and she said after the fight scene was filmed, she went off by herself and cried for a few minutes, because when James is bashing her head into the floor, her head kept hitting the cut away parts of the floor (they had replaced with foam) but she said because she has a 'big fat head' it kept hitting the corners of the real wood flooring.
Love your work/personality/narration. You really need to watch another Stephen King starring Kathy Bates called "Dolores Claiborne". This is not a parallel to this, but the movie/her performance is compelling and is def an interesting mind bender. Jody Foster is also in this ("silence of the lambs"). Thanks again for your work!
There were indeed differences in the book. An axe instead of a sledgehammer. More bloody violence. It's been a while but I do remember long sections from the Misery book with all the n's filled in. I didn't think it was necessary and slowed the book down. There are a few adaptations that are better than the books and this was one of them for me. King was also stuck in the horror genre until he decided to release Different Seasons with The Body, Shawshank and two other novellas to show he could write non horror. Try The Dark Half, adapted by George Romero. I also adapted it into a screenplay but that's another story.
Bro, don’t sleep on Dolores Claiborne. Stephen King, Kathy Bates (in another Oscar-worthy performance that wasn’t even nominated). A very different story vibe. Check it out, it’s a great movie!
I'll definitely be checking out Dolores Claiborne soon :) It's either going to be my next Stephen King reaction or the one right after. It still blows my mind how many of his books have been adapted to film. Such an amazing and creative mind!
Thank you so much Josie! It was so fun to make the skit, and fortunately I didn't have to really endure too much of those Hallmark movies during the making of the skit haha!

Could you imagine all the flashbacks dudes must've had if they dated some "off the wall" girls in the past? LOL! Probably had some guys flinching during certain moments 😂
Kathy Bates did such a convincing and extremely terrifying performance as Annie Wilkes that ultimately turned out to be the most defining moment of her Hollywood career - this deservedly won her the Best Actress Oscar at the 1991 Academy Awards. Another brilliant movie adaptation of another superb story by Stephen King. Fabulous reaction, Jesse! 👍👍👍👍👍
She was absolutely brilliant! There were actually a few moments where I felt bad for her. Right after her line, "He didn't get out of the cockadoodie car", she looks around a bit and looks confused and almost afraid. When I was editing the reaction and I came to that moment, it just made me feel bad for her. She hit so many different emotions so damn well! I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction Trevor! Thanks so much for the feedback!
@jessebatres6895 - You're very welcome, Jesse. Many of Stephen King's most notable characters and stories are centered around the US state of Maine, which is where he and his family hail from. His longtime wife Tabitha is also an acclaimed author as well. Check out the movie "Thinner", which is one of his other stories that is written under his pseudonym alias Richard Bachman. It's a good popcorn movie that you can enjoy on a quiet weekend. Thanks again! 👍👍👍👍👍
Jesse, another Rob Reiner movie you should check out is "When Harry Met Sally" if you haven't seen it already. I heard you say "we were watching another Stephen King movie" after recently watching "Stand by Me" - coincidentally both were directed by Reiner.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Another blinding skit, Jess!!! Rivalling 'Christine' slightly!! Love the hobbling as a consequence for not included subscribers favourite scenes from the films you react too ha! ha! Some weird inner part of me was hoping you'd be playing Annie - in full frumpy old bag wig, fake tits and cardigan.... but you portraying your own psychotic twin was wicked!! Personally, I was on the side of the psychotic twin as your 'Paul Sheldon' persona in the bed, needed to have the shit kicked out of him just for wearing that fucking jumper! * Unless you've already seen them, I'd love you to react to the Stephen King films 'Cujo'(1983) and 'The Dead Zone'(1983) 😊
LOL! I feel like my face was in a constant state of shock and I felt like I was "on guard" for the majority of the film. Annie was so unpredictable, I felt like she was gonna break the fourth wall and start ranting and coming after me 😂
Thanks so much Julian! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I really appreciate the continued support and kind words! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with family and loved ones! :)
My cousin and I had a choice between Misery and Home Alone at the theater one night with a bunch of other cousins and friends. I convinced her to see Misery and she freaked out at the sledgehammer scene. In the book, Annie made him drink dirty mop water. Of course there are always things in the books they can't integrate into the films. In King's novel Apt Pupil, it ended with a school shootout sniper-style from a tree. Couldn't put that in the movie because of Columbine. It'd be awesome if you could do more King movies. Sure you've seen It or the remake. Know you've reacted to The Shining. Pet Sematary would be a good choice and Carrie. 🖤🤘
@jeannellebroussard3138 - Another disturbing moment from the "Misery" novel which was not featured in the movie was when Annie decided to sever one of Paul's thumbs with an electric carving knife after he took exception to another one of the letter keys coming off the broken typewriter that he was working on. So mentally deranged was she at that point, Annie also presented Paul, who was completely paralytic with sick pain, with a birthday cake which had a "special candle" on top of it: his severed thumb. "The Dark Half" is another fantastic choice of Stephen King novel that deserves a good read too. 👍👍👍
Dirty mop water!!! 😲Oh hell no!! I looked up a few details about the character and it's crazy how scary and depraved she truly is. I read about the "rat" moment. MY GOD! By the way, I've reacted to both Pet Sematary and Carrie :) Let me know if you have a chance to check those out on my channel. I'm going to watch as many Stephen King films as I can.
Great reaction. Make sure to check out the great Kathy Bates in her favorite career performance portraying Dolores Claiborne in the film of the same name. It’s another Stephen King novel adaptation that was written with Kathy Bates in mind for playing the role. The movie doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Another must see film starring Kathy Bates is Fried Green Tomatoes. I really think you’ll enjoy both of these films. Thanks for sharing and take care until next time.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I'm excited to check out Dolores Claiborne! I think it might be my next Stephen King reaction. By the way, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying the Holidays!
very ironic for this channel that one of Annie Wilke's lines was "profanity has no nobility"........LOL....Jesse loves cussing all the time.....just hope his kids aren't nearby.
Lol! It felt like I was watching some sports fighting event where the underdog starts to come back and is able to overcome the "seemingly invincible" opponent. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! ❤
"I'm your number one fan." Fun Fact: Director Rob Reiner cameos as a helicopter pilot. Gun Enthusiast Fact: Annie's (Kathy Bates) revolver is a Colt Cobra "D" Frame .38 revolver. Automobile Enthusiast Fact: Annie's (Kathy Bates) jeep is a 1974 Jeep Cherokee S [SJ]. Paul's (James Caan) car is a 1966 Ford Mustang. Sheriff Buster's (Richard Farnsworth) car is a 1972 Chevrolet Blazer [K-5]. Lost In Adaptation Fact: While there were many minor changes from the novel, there was one major change. In the novel, Annie (Kathy Bates) cuts off Paul's (James Caan) foot to prevent him from escaping. Screenwriter William Goldman had stated that the reason he decided to adapt the book to film was because of this gruesome scene, and the effect it would have on the audience. However, Rob Reiner and Andrew Scheinman's script revision changed the method of torture to Paul getting his ankles broken with a sledgehammer. Goldman was opposed to the change until viewing the film. Typewriter Enthusiast Fact: The typewriter that Annie (Kathy Bates) buys for Paul (James Caan) to use is a Royal Model 10 typewriter. The Royal 10 was one of the first successfully mass produced typewriters which would set the technical standard for most typewriters that would follow it. Produced between 1914 and 1934, Paul's model can be pinpointed to be from 1914 to 1923 due to the double paneled beveled glass located on both sides of the machine. Models from 1924 to 1934 had only single paneled beveled glass. The 10 model would see use well after the model was discontinued as Royal Typewriters subsidiary Rigal Rebuilt would completely refurbish and rebuild the machines after they reached the intended lifespan giving the model many more years of use well into the 1950's and 60's. Due to its mass sales and twenty year production the Royal 10 remains one of the attainable typewriters that can be picked up by collectors of the machines in the 21st Century.
Awesome! So I think there might be a movie mistake in the dialogue. The Hotel owner says 65' Mustang. But that makes a bit of sense because he probably had a conversation with Paul about his car and in his head he remembered it as a 65' mustang. I might have to get me a type writer like that. I'm sure Stephen King films will have even more type writers as main props, so it would be cool to have one with a few typed pages that include quotes from his films.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Jesse That Was Funny!!! Lol You should receive an Oscar for that note worthy performance!! Lol "You're just a dirty little birdie" Hilarious!! Great job! Now I can watch your reaction! 👍🏾
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! 😂❤ One of these days I'll bring out the big guns from an "acting" perspective, but it would have to be the right film and scenario. It's funny that you mention that line "You're just a dirty little birdie", because I thought Annie said it that way verbatim but she actually says "You dirty bird" lol! I didn't realize until afterwards that I said it wrong 😂
I was thinking about what to wear and then I saw it in the corner of the closet and thought, "This is perfect!" I'll be wearing a few others this upcoming month :)
Good point lol! I'd be curious how many people actually live on that mountain though. Perhaps just a few, and the Sherriff could've done a little digging on those few people sooner and have found out about Annie's crimes. But yeah with the limited resources it wasn't likely.
I'll definitely be watching Delores Claiborne :) So many people have recommended it and there's been a lot of praise with no spoilers, which I love going into a film without knowing any details other than the genre and a somewhat vague synopsis.
She truly is amazing! What I love about this performance as well is many of her small subtle moments when she's silent and you can just feel that there's a hundred things going on in her mind.
@ did you know that Stephen king was so blown away by her performance in Misery, that he wrote two more roles for Kathy to play. One role in the tv film “the stand”and the other was a leading role “Dolores Claiborne”‘which Kathy said Dolores was the role she was most proud of. You should check it out she was Magnificent
Had the day off today plus we get another amazing movie reaction to make the day even better 🙌 ❤ Hilarious skit 😂 The agent is played by the great Lauren Bacall she was married to Humphrey Boghart, Old Hollywood icons, I was named after her. You should definitely check out classic films sometime, Casablanca would be a great start Im your number 1 fan Jesse 😂😂😂
Happy to entertain you on your day off! 😂 Oh and I'm currently trying to expedite this next reaction (Planes, Trains, and Automobiles) so I can upload it by Thursday lol! I'm glad you enjoyed the skit! It was very last minute and I just had to do it ha! That's awesome to find out the origin of your name! She sounds like a classically trained actress with her distinct voice. And the classics will certainly be including in my channel! You made my eyes pop out of my sockets with that last line HAHA!!! I'm glad I got to learn from Paul's mistakes in case I need to game plan in the future 😂😂❤
The production values on the skits are getting higher but every penny’s on the screen! All $2 of it! 😂 speaking of Christmas, is Die Hard on the menu at some point?
$1.35 is more like it haha! I actually went out to buy that sledge hammer, which took up the whole budget 😂 And HELL YEAH! I got Die Hard set for December and some other Christmas themed films as well :)
@ Sounds like you got producer, co-producer and set-designer credits all wrapped up! 😂 Looking forward to that reaction. Also, I might have mentioned it already so pardon if I did but… Big Trouble in Little China. Because you will love ol’ Jack Burton. The most heroic hero of them all! 👍🏽😂
Exactly! It's funny because when we're going off and a family member or friend says "It's just a game", I swear that shit sets me off even more and I get more pissed off! lol!
WOAH!!! I looked up the name and that is haunting!! Goodness, I wonder what was on that guys mind when he had Stephen King right there in front of him 😨
The same man who would infamously gun down John Lennon outside his apartment in New York in December of 1980. That murder completely shocked the world - especially when Mark David Chapman had already obtained an autograph from Lennon himself only several hours before he killed him. Anti-stalking laws only started being officially put into operation in the United States after a mentally unstable loner had chillingly murdered the young actress Rebecca Schaeffer on the doorstep of her own home in 1989. Apparently, this psychotic individual took quite an exception to an erotic scene that Schaeffer had performed in one of her roles. So incandescent and outraged he was by this "sinful" act, he travelled to Schaeffer's private address and killed her in cold blood. Insane on many levels indeed. 😨
Thanks and great skit, Jesse! 🪵 What a coincidence? I just watched Ms. Bates' career retrospective, shot just over twenty years ago, from SAG-AFTRA. 🔸 If you'd like to have a prequel of sorts for the 'Annie Wilkes' character, be sure to check out Season 2 of CASTLE ROCK (2018 through 2019). Season 1 is a different tale, so not needed for this purpose. 🔸 You might remember that *Rob* *Reiner* also directed STAND BY ME (1986), which you reacted to last week. He's remarkable as both an actor and director. His other directorial efforts you might want to add to your list: the music/mockumentary THIS IS SPINAL TAP (1984), the comedy/fantasy/romance THE PRINCESS BRIDE (1987), the comedy/drama/romance WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989), the drama/military/court-process/thriller A FEW GOOD MEN (1992), the political-drama/comedy/romance THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT (1995), the drama/romance BEING CHARLIE (2015) and the documentary/comedy/biography ALBERT BROOKS: DEFENDING MY LIFE (2023).
Thank you so much!! :) It was a last minute choice to make a skit, but I'm so glad I did it lol! Oh that's awesome, I'm gonna have to check that out. I'm curious about her backstory as she's such an interesting and multi-layered character. Oh wow! I didn't catch that he was the same director and I have a few of those other films on my list. I like his subtle style and seems to maintain a really good pace, based of these past 2 films I've watched. By the way, I hope you have a Happy Thanks Giving!
Hey everyone, thank you so much for watching! Please consider subscribing to the channel. Hope you enjoyed the skit, and don't worry about my legs. I'll be able to walk again in no time lol!
Thanks for adding my name.
That skit was hysterical 😂😂
Definitely!!! Thanks for your continued support Joel! And I almost didn't do the skit. It was a last minute choice and I couldn't help myself haha!

Love the King adaptation reactions. Looking forward to Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist
Thank you so much! Those will definitely be coming soon :) I've got Dolores Claiborne on the list as well, since so many people have recommended it.
When it comes to Stephen King movies , it's always best to read the book first. It's a whole diff ride !!😮

Jesse, another Rob Reiner movie you should check out is "When Harry Met Sally" if you haven't seen it already. I heard you say "we were watching another Stephen King movie" after recently watching "Stand by Me" - coincidentally both were directed by Reiner.
Yes. There should be a phone in that phone. You are correct.
My instincts were correct again 😂 Yeah I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed lol!
King made a lot of comments at one time comparing fans of his Dark Tower series, comparing some of them to Misery Chastain’s fans.
Oh man lol! I can only imagine what authors or directors go through when they have a "hardcore" fan base to keep happy.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another blinding skit, Jess!!!
It is a really great movie...lol
Amazing! It didn't let me relax and I was terrified by what she might do next because of how unpredictable she is.
I just realized how random it is that Stephen King wrote two books about writers being snowed in in Colorado.
True! Also, I've seen about 6 of his films so far, and 3 of them include a "Writer" as one of the leads. I guess it makes sense for him though
lol your face after she says “Here’s one big bastard of a check” and spilling the tomato soup
LOL! I feel like my face was in a constant state of shock and I felt like I was "on guard" for the majority of the film. Annie was so unpredictable, I felt like she was gonna break the fourth wall and start ranting and coming after me 😂
Yes bro at 34:20, I can confirm that there should be "some shit" in that phone to make it work 😂😂😂
Haha! My instincts were right again 😂
Thanks for the reaction bro, always nice to watch it together with you 😀
Thanks so much Julian! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I really appreciate the continued support and kind words! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with family and loved ones! :)
@@jessebatres6895 Thank you bro and thanks that you always put out great content for us. Same to you and your family 🤗
@@jessebatres6895 Definitely will check them out! Thanks
Buster was my favorite I just hated the fact he went there alone.
That is the best dream ever, getting booted by snake and still talking her home, ha
Man, my never ending Shakira crush phase started with "Hips don't lie" lol! It's nice to dream 😂😂
сыгранная Вами сценка в начале видео напомнило мне момент из очень смешного фильма "Совершенно секретно"
Great reaction, I love how you rooting for Paul during the fight like a sports match lol
Lol! It felt like I was watching some sports fighting event where the underdog starts to come back and is able to overcome the "seemingly invincible" opponent. Thank you so much for watching and commenting! ❤
"I'm your number one fan."
Fun Fact: Director Rob Reiner cameos as a helicopter pilot.
I can think of 2 quotes to write on the paper-
All work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
Or
Fuckfuckfuckfuck
Lol
So fun watching this with you! Your reaction was perfection! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💯☑️
Thank you so much Paula! Always makes my day to read your kind and supportive words! 😀❤
@jessebatres6895 You made the "dirty birdie" line your own!! Lol A little Improvement on the original. 😁 👍🏾
Bro im still laughing at that Christmas sweater in the skit 😂😂😂
I was thinking about what to wear and then I saw it in the corner of the closet and thought, "This is perfect!" I'll be wearing a few others this upcoming month :)
Is it possible for the police to get a search warrant for all the houses in a small town
Good point lol! I'd be curious how many people actually live on that mountain though. Perhaps just a few, and the Sherriff could've done a little digging on those few people sooner and have found out about Annie's crimes. But yeah with the limited resources it wasn't likely.
If you want to see Kathy Bates in another good Stephen King movie, check out "Dolores Claiborne" 1995.
I'll definitely be watching Delores Claiborne :) So many people have recommended it and there's been a lot of praise with no spoilers, which I love going into a film without knowing any details other than the genre and a somewhat vague synopsis.
@jessebatres6895 Happy Thanksgiving. Also, if you wat to see a good James Caan movie, check out "Thief" 1981.
LMAO AT THE SKIT🤣🤣
It was a fun one to make! I had to give my wife a heads up whenever the screaming started so that she wouldn't get freaked out haha!
Kathy Bates Oscar and golden globe winning role. She’s incredible
Kathy Bates nailed this role 😊 I cannot think of any other actress who could have played Annie.
She sure as hell did! Any time I saw that mood start to shift, my anxiety spiked up haha!
@@Orange.cats.r.cutest - She is even more disturbing and extremely frightening in the novelization by Stephen King as well. 👍👍👍
I take it you like Shakira? 😂😂😂
My celebrity crush since I was a teen lol! I think "Hips don't lie" is what started it all 😂
James Caan is a Great Actor! But kathy Bates stole this show as a Total Sociopath. Like Norman Bates in Psycho.
Don't forget to watch Stephen Kings, "The Mist"
Stephen king has always cited annie wilkes as his favorite character hes written
There's so many layers to her! Man, Kathy Bates even had these little facial expressions that made me feel sad for her at times.
Yeah especially her first outburst about the swearing u can tell she's embarrassed
Had the day off today plus we get another amazing movie reaction to make the day even better 🙌 ❤
Hilarious skit 😂
The agent is played by the great Lauren Bacall she was married to Humphrey Boghart, Old Hollywood icons, I was named after her. You should definitely check out classic films sometime, Casablanca would be a great start
Im your number 1 fan Jesse 😂😂😂
She just had to say Bakersfield.
👍🏿👍🏿 We all need a muse as inspirational as Annie. She knows how get you moving, even if it hurts.
Her methods are crazy but they produce results haha!
The production values on the skits are getting higher but every penny’s on the screen! All $2 of it! 😂 speaking of Christmas, is Die Hard on the menu at some point?
$1.35 is more like it haha! I actually went out to buy that sledge hammer, which took up the whole budget 😂
And HELL YEAH!
I’m the same during Warriors games !! Also been a fan since I was a kid . The passion runs deep for us!⭐️Not everyone can understand ⭐️🥰
Exactly! It's funny because when we're going off and a family member or friend says "It's just a game", I swear that shit sets me off even more and I get more pissed off! lol!
@ 🤣Yes! Same ! Hahah! Don’t ever lose that passion ! I feel sorry for people that don’t allow themselves to experience that Magic✨💯✨
Stephen King recounts how this came about: In 1980, this loner in NY had him sign one of his books. " To my biggest fan.. Mark. David. Chapman"
Jesus
@@jessebatres6895 it was right around when he picked which celebrity to kill.
Great! It is very interesting to see your reaction to the film Real Steel 2011. This is a cool movie 🦾🤖🔥
Do you have any plans to do it?
@@jessebatres6895 And a very happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. 🫂
