I played with a i7 7700 + RTX2060 + 16Gb ram and was running at the max (obviously the high res textures were locked during the stress test) at 1440p. No sure the exact framerate but it was perfect.
So, I ended up being delightfully able to play during this recent stress test. I am using an i5 2500k (not overclocked atm), 12gb ddr3 ram, a gtx 1650 super GPU, and installed on a fairly new SSD. I had seemingly near 60fps with everything on the absolute lowest settings and 1080p resolution. There was some slowdown in late game 3v3 or 4v4, especially during big battles. Otherwise, I was surprised and happy with my experience so far. :)
I think the late game slowdowns are an engine problem and not local - i.e. everyone lagged in the late game at some point that they need to optimize. 1650 is perfectly capable, so I think with time you should be able to switch some settings to medium!

There's quite alot of issues here , I appreciate your time and in general it's good for a non tech guy to understand. You also had a 2080 on desktop in a lower bracket than the 3070 Mobile despite it being the same performance as the 3070ti Mobile. Also the whole 10%+ desktop compared to it's laptop namesake is a bit of an odd one , it's fairly accurate with 20 series and 10 series but the 900 series and especially the 30 series is quite often a completely different die , A 3080 mobile has 6100 cuda cores where as the desktop 3080 has over 10,000 etc.
My old desktop had 8gb of ram, and no matter what I did, I was unable to free up 4gb consistently for the stress test. I do recommend 12 or 16 if possible.
@@AgeofNoob I built my computer around 2014 or 2015. I meet all the minimum requirements for Age of Empires 4, but I have 8GB of total RAM. Once I downloaded the game, I tried starting it but it would not open, saying that I didn't have enough RAM. My current available RAM is around 4GB, I never tried closing all background processes or applications, but from my short research online, system requirements for games, specifically RAM requirements, give the total amount that needs to be installed, not available. I have seen four or five posts online in the last week with people getting this error message. The game may actually require 8GB of available RAM, so your computer may just need 16GB minimum to run this. You'll most likely be able to run at 1080p High 60FPS+.. You could theoretically push for more for lower FPS I think, but the P2000 isn't the greatest..
Xeon 3690 I have crushes the minimum spec 6300u processor in benchmarks. But since it does not support avx I can not play. This AVX thing is getting old fast. first cyberpunk (walked back), then Diablo 2 resurected(walked back), and now AOE 4. is there any game that has attempted to use AVX that has not got pushback. Seems to me like intel is trying to push developers to use something that is not particularly needed. If they would just develope things with an option to use it or not from the beginning they would be saving themselves a lot of headaches after release.
I have an X5690 which should crush this game, but sadly because of the lack of AVX I also cannot run it. Games like Cyberpunk and BF2042 work fine :)))

Perfectly fine. I think the game visually is bang-for-buck at 1440p, as 4K takes too much to run without much improvement in visual fidelity - that is, at least for the Technical Stress Test. Not sure how the game will look like at release.
I have i7-4790 with gtx 1650 super and 16 gb of ram.... the game run at 50-60 fps at high graphics (except the textures that doenst allowed to change from low, but saw some streamers at high). But i prefer the age3de graphics... the big siege weapons charts looks ugly like the age1 (not de) catapults, the ships so square, water without reflections and waves (maybe because low textures) ... just liked the buildings, but too small. Just waiting for a age of mythology and rise of nations definitive editions.

@@AgeofNoob yes , thx , i know , i visited every forum and such, yet...to be able to play the game "decently" in 2v2 i need to fuc* up the setting to low. or.beyond =)) i mean , come on. and i know it's not the game to look how beutiful the grass is, but again, come on...can't play this with 2000's visuals. any sorts of things i can do , please let me know. ;)
can run but my potato PC can't have sastifying enough graphic I got in AOE3.
Were you able to play the game maxed out on AoE3 DE?
@@AgeofNoob aoe 3 DE is almost impossible to run on my pc.
I mean aoe4 has lesser demands than DE which is great but the graphic quality becomes lower than original aoe3.
@@buddyblris3094 Ah you meant the original 3, I see. Yeah AoE4 actually runs better than any DE release, but as you mentioned, you need to be okay with really low graphics..
Wasn't clear for me when you changed from CPU to gpu at around minute 10, that you now start to talk about Igpus and not anymore about CPUs-power
The issue is that certain CPUs use the same iGPUs despite being generations apart on the Intel side. So I decided to group them via CPU+GPU combo, and the nVidia/AMD ones standalone.. I know it's a bit confusing, but the video is already 20 minutes long, and if I separated this further, it would've been an hour :D
Can i run it??
...i have i5 4210U ..nvidia Geforce820m,8gb ram ,window 10 64 bit
Would any of these laptop processors with integrated graphics give me a mid 1080p graphics?
i5-1235U - i5-12450H - r5-5500U.
Considering that the 1235U is equipped with Iris XE and the 12450H with UHD graphics. However, the 12450H has a higher TDP.
I'm not sure which laptop to buy.
I have 8gb and its still not running
Age 4 runs on 8 gigs of ram but seems to crash on my pc after about 35 minutes. 16 gigs has no problem.

can I play on Core i5 4th Gen?
Can i run it? I have Laptop with i7-3630qm, 8gb ram, GT 650m 2gb…? In low resolution and low details? Thanks.
Can I play this with an AMD Phenom II X4 955 and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti ? Many thanks for the video!
Your GPU is fine, but I think your CPU is too old and won't have AVX instructions I'm afraid..
Hello
Can windows 7 play age of empire 4? Thank you (:
can I ask if this game can run on win7 or I have to upgrade to win 10 ?
Windows 10 exclusive I'm afraid
I played the game on everything max with a GTX 1080 ti 6GB. Mostly didn’t have any problems 😂 except if the game started to go too long in a 4v4 the performance went down and I started getting the alert that I’m playing on too high res 😂😂😂 but the game was still playable. Probably wouldn’t play ranked or multiplayer though
The 1080Ti is a beast that is still relevant as of today.. you made a great choice my friend!
@@AgeofNoob thanks bro. I really hope you got early access to the game. You deserve it.
@@saadkhan5623 Thanks Saad! Unfortunately, I didn't. :( I emailed them about it and waiting for a response
@@AgeofNoob I hope they do. If there’s anyone whose opinion I care about and believe to be genuine and honest with the best intentions, it’s yours. And if there’s any AOE youtuber whose videos I ecstatically wait for the most, again it’s yours.
@@AgeofNoob also you should do like a live stream of first access into the game with your full opinion and thoughts! Would be great to watch! Especially since it’s launching in the middle of my University semester final exams so I can’t play till after exams!
Lenovo - ThinkPad T470 Intel Core i5 6300u - 8GB ram.. Memory - 256GB. 64bit. window 10 ..can run the game.?

Very much useful video about the system information. Can you help to understand on Graphics card. say i am using Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8650U can i upgrade to maximum of which graphics card version
Dude please,work 720p with i3-2120 3.3ghz 6gb ram and intel hd 2000(integrated)
I believe your PC is too old to run this game unfortunately..
I have a AMD ryzen 3 3300u with Radeom Vega mobile GFX, 2100mhz, 4 cores, 12ram, do you think is enough for a decent run of the game?
You should be able to run the game in Low.. not sure if you can push for Medium in low resolutions
i3 4150 3.5ghz

Nope, sorry.
Hi, i have:

16 GB RAM
Evga gtx 1650 SC ULTRA GDDR6 (i buy it last month)
Im planning on changing the CPU for an i5 10400f and surely new ram too.
But what i have right now will cause problems running the game?
Does is work with Ryzen 3200u with TDP increased to 28~32W ?
Yeah I think it should be fine
intel hd 5500 , can run?
"launching in just 12 days", as of the date that you published this video, it's just 9 days. Fair to say, then, that you had a 3 day turnaround time between narration and publication?
No it was just one day - your time zone might showcase the date as +1 on your end.. :)
My directx is 10 can I run it
I have a nvidia quadro p2000 5gb. With a ryzen 5800x 32gb ram. What kind of res/fps/settings could I expect?
You'll most likely be able to run at 1080p High 60FPS+.. You could theoretically push for more for lower FPS I think, but the P2000 isn't the greatest..
@@AgeofNoob cheers thanks for the response. I'll be watching your videos that is for sure - please keep making making them 🙂
@@firstspar No problem mate! :)
I play with graphics on medium, and the rest on low or directly off with: Ryzen 5 1500X; 16GB RAM; 1050Ti MSI 4GB VRAM. 30 fps 1080p.
I have a 1080ti! Now I feel special
Can i tried 4 gb ram for play this game?
No, you will almost certainly fail to run the game unfortunately
I can run on i5 12400 no gpu lowest settings
Yes lowest settings should be fine for sure.
I should get a pc with these specs:
AMD 5900HX (3.3 - 8Core)
AMD RX 6600m (8Gb)
32Gb Ram
will they be enough to play AoE max at 1440p and 30 / 60fps?
You can run the game at 4K 60fps+ with that setup mate. :)
Good Summary! I have to turn off xmp profile 1 in bios to avoid windows blue screen ram error with my Ryzen 5 so that sadly makes the ram slower. But I have rtx 3060 TI so AoE4 should be no problem according to your list :)
3060TI should be able to max the game out in 1440p easily I believe.. you have a great system. :)
@@AgeofNoob Nice :)
How much RAM do you have? Total installed and also available?
@@zacharyalan4977 16 GB DDR4 3200 MHZ . I don't know how much windows and steam uses in the background. I can run the game stable at 60 fps, 2560 x 1440 and ultra settings. I don't have HDR. I have not noticed any dropp in fps.
Thank You!
Missing the seagate, Samsung logos
I tried with 2.5 gb of ram (lowered by software) it works in 720 p low quality all.
Need 4 gb for hd i think (in low)
8 for a quality experiment in HD.
And 16 gb for all above 1440p
IMPORTANT : all that are tested, but tests made with an 11th and 10th gen intel (i3-10100 and I5-10500) must use the ram way better then an old CPU.

@@AgeofNoob great just want to know performance range
@@SilverTippedSpear Pretty sure you'll get 60-100 FPS at 4K with everything maxed out or something along those lines

AoE4 technical stress test worked for me better then AoE2DE
I'm looking to buy a laptop, how would AoE 4 run with this specs:
- Intel Core i7 9750h
- 16 GB of ram
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 (with 6 GB of dedicated ram)

"Which are slightly better than a potato!" :)))
Why does age of empires 4 need a better graphics card then warzone? WTF
I have a 750 ti with 8gb of ram and an i5 fourth gen. What would be the best way to upgrade for me?
You need to change everything.
I think RAM. I have a GTX 750Ti, Windows 10 x64, i5-4460 3.2GHz and when I try to start the game it says I don't have enough RAM. You may be able to close ALL processes and apps on your computer and in the background and have JUST under 8GB of available RAM, but I didn't try this. I just refunded so I don't get stuck after two weeks and then I can't refund anymore, but also can't play the game. I had around 4GB (half of my 8GB total) of available RAM when I tried running the game.
@@zacharyalan4977 that’s crazy. I was able to play at 8gb. I would get the pop up saying the game needed more ram. I just upgraded to 16gb but I don’t know what difference it makes other than not seeing the pop up anymore.
No :(
Maybe they will support Linux some time.
Did you try to run the stress test with proton? I haven't heard any news on compatibility.
Linux gamers have had it rough man... 11
Is this a joke? A rtx 2060 can run this game on 1080p 144-150 fps at max setting bud
I hane 4gb ram ı can run
Great now I know what I need.
But now I wonder what I actually have in this black box of pc. 🤔 11
Press on the Windows Key and R at the same time. In the "Run" popup, type "Dxdiag".
If there's a prompt that comes up, press "Yes". You should then see all of your PC's information all in one place.

Hence why it's on High, 60+ FPS on the graph as well. Can't predict every system and how it'll perform, since you also have a solid CPU as well.

@@AgeofNoob Lmaoo thanks for the intel tho 😂
I will play it at "just" 1080p with max settings to enjoy max smoothness/fps
Perfectly fine. I think the game visually is bang-for-buck at 1440p, as 4K takes too much to run without much improvement in visual fidelity - that is, at least for the Technical Stress Test. Not sure how the game will look like at release.
my hd4000 laughs that
Interesante
I have i7-4790 with gtx 1650 super and 16 gb of ram.... the game run at 50-60 fps at high graphics (except the textures that doenst allowed to change from low, but saw some streamers at high). But i prefer the age3de graphics... the big siege weapons charts looks ugly like the age1 (not de) catapults, the ships so square, water without reflections and waves (maybe because low textures) ... just liked the buildings, but too small. Just waiting for a age of mythology and rise of nations definitive editions.
