If only someone back in 1996 could tell me that in 2022 I would be watching Warcraft 2 in 4K resolution… I would ask them: “Wtf is 4k resolution? And why you even watch a game when you can play it?”
Imagine explaining a pewdiepie type RUclipsr. Paying a guy to scream into a microphone.
I think we all know the answer to that question is, because we suck at playing games so we'd rather watch those who are better than us.
@@birisuandrei1551 also people watch others to learn new things, to see how people play their games, new styles etc.
Preech
Am 2000 but ye u right you gotta be cultured to know
This is unreal. To go 1v7 on the fastest speed and pull it off is unreal. And really damn impressive must say.
The secret is to know how the AI plays and use this. The AI in Wc2 clearly struggles with capsuled bases and does not know how to coordinate their resources. He takes advantage of this. There was slight pressure on his main base with the catapuls and balistas, but besides that the AI literally sacrificied all units without plan. What I never did and enjoyed was how he eliminated basically one enemy with one death knight. Smart move.
- *"This is unreal."*
No, this is Warcraft 2.
;D
@@blackberrypriv6311 i've seen the computer get stuck and stop building
@@SvendleBerries Oh dad :D
@@blackberrypriv6311 The second secret is to modify the map so that it works with your strategy
Last time i checked, you coulsnt blockade the front of your stary zone, due to there being an unbuildable area there
Bro, not only w2 menu theme slaps it also never gets old
Tbf the whole soundtrack is masterpiece
w2 make me like orchestral music.
Lol they stole music from Hearthstone

Got to love the early 90's AI "the only sworn enemy I have in the world is building inside of my base...this is fine."
8 minutes in and the AI sends dragons at you. That's terrifying to think about, let alone witness
I can't even beat one opponent lol unless I tower rush him
@@chadfakename6346 as I remember there are several standard ai schemes - infantry, navy and air. "Air ai" create only dragons/gryphons and guard towers)
it really shouldn't surprise you, anyone who was unharassed in this game for that long would easily be able to build up air in that time
not as scary as a 8 zealot rush in SC1 haha
@@JN-hs5xl I mean, he did cheese the ai next to him with a tower rush...
The awesome thing about this graphics style is that it makes it really clear what and where all the units are. Modern graphics look great, but maybe aren't as good for gameplay.
5:19 red dude's like "i'm keeping watch guys"
There are plenty of games with graphics like WC2 that you can't tell what's going on. The more detailed graphics are the easier it is to convey information, but it's not a sure-fire thing. You can make things too busy, too dark, or just poorly designed, regardless of the quality of the graphics engine. HCI is important and crisp, clean, easy-to-identify models/sprites/icons are key for a game like this.
@@weezact7 Yeah. Art style and UI design are the issue, not resolution or "graphics quality"
Like nick wrote, graphics style
Warcraft 3 vs Warcraft reforged 😆
Brilliant work. As a kid it took me longer than that to defeat one enemy.
It's always good watching great RTS players in action. You learn things. Like how badly you'll be beaten online and whether you can be bothered taking the time to Git Gud.
I remember how I spent days (like 8-16h at least) for the human alterac mission and the mission with the peasants uprise.... man good times when I was scared of kilrogs eye ...
@@blackberrypriv6311 I'd make the largest maps entirely of forest with a few gold mines throughout and an AI trapped in a corner unable to do anything and see how long it takes to clear the land. No army just all Peons/Peasants.
I'd use a guard tower or 2 kill the AI at the end.
@@VegarotFusion humiliation lol
@@blackberrypriv6311 I remember my older brother getting stuck on the Alterac mission, and I came up with an idea to blow a hole at the Northwest side of their base with dwarven demo teams, and then swarm in and knee cap them at their goldmine. I was so proud of myself, lol.
The sound of casting bloodlust was terrifying. Ogre mages are the true berserkers in WC.
OOOOOO LAAAAAAA OOOOOLALA!
9 ogremages on bloodlust and haste = special task commando and posthumous heroes of the Soviet Union er i mean Ner'Zhul
I use to play this game all the time at my Grandparents house. My Granny bringing me milkshakes and letting me enjoy a video game away from my siblings will always be one of my fondest memories.
so much nostalgia. these games are my childhood.
Came for the orcs, stayed for the soundtrack.
Dabu
You know, watching the at 1.75x speed makes it seem even more impressive than it already is.
Simply watching Warcraft 2 brings up some hidden childhood happiness out of me. The sounds, the textures, the unit responses, buildings, strategy etc. Bloodlust is still one of my favourite sounds ever.
Everything is awesome and helps cope with a pretty shitty time in my life. But this is the first time I'm watching someone do a classic human vs a shitload of AI play in WC2 and it's glorious to watch. Great stuff dude, keep it up with the old WC and SC content. They fill a void in my life.
hey alright
" you don't touch the other elves like that" lol my fav line in the game
I know exactly what you mean - the nostalgia is hitting hard for me too. No joke, when the video started and I saw/heard the opening screen, I instinctively tried to start the game myself and was mildly surprised that the severed hand cursor wasn't moving with my mouse and that there was still an arrow cursor on the screen.
Just remember..."your sound card works perfectly" 🤣
@@nikmuhammad7362 Oh my God, I heard that in my subatomic structure!
I loved every minute of this and despite seeing your campaign run throughs am still in awe of your micro skills. I still havent even figured out how to use macros in this game and ive been playing it since bne came out. Lol. Still got my og disc and have multiple console copies of this game too because it introduced me to the rts genre. And then i shared it with friends and family and got them hooked too. Thanks for the trip to memory lane. :)
I hesitate to call it a fact, but I distinctly recall being able to get the dragons/griffon riders to hit themselves with their own projectile. Usually happens when they target Knights or other fast moving enemies, as their targeting doesn't tell them not to drop their attack on themselves.
It basically requires the defending player to ensure the target of the dragon needs to be directly under the dragon AND moving away as the projectile is thrown, thus causing the projectile to collide with the attacking dragon.
dragons cannot attack self
@@ed_gorod Technically, you're correct. However, given how their attack does damage in a line and counts as a separate entity in the code from the dragon itself, it CAN damage the dragon on its flight path towards the target it was launched at.
Once the projectile leaves the dragon, it damages everything in its path of travel. This can include the very dragon who launched it.
for me dragons/gryphins never felt as strong units :x haha I was playing on PlayStation xD
@@morgrimgaming7342 techically impossible. Did you saw game code? i saw game code directly and can 100% say its impossible. because in function damage_area_unit there is check at line 678 if (!pUnit || pBullet->pOwner == pUnit)return;
so ranged units cannot attack self even if targeted by system, i checked it just now. On other hand, melee units can kill themselves cuz there is no check like this (but only because they obviously cannot target themselves in normal game)
@@kurrwa Not the ideal way to play it, but it could be worse.
So much nostalgia, down to the way the corpses decay. And I love how the offense was ogres with their blubbery clunky sprites. Truly it was all ogre for the AIs by that point.
Omg Warcraft 2! One of the absolute best games I've ever played. It had me addicted for years and then Warcraft 3 came out and a few more years were added. 😍
Such nostalgia in this game. Thank you
Man the memories. I remember getting the Battle Chest and putting so many hours into this.
This brought me back.
This was satisfying to watch.
Thank you.
I use to watch my dad play this when i was a baby. Then he taught me. Then warcraft 3 came out and i won a champion tournament and he was so proud
Very cool! Interesting tactics and using different units to win is good. Respect for the skillful use of death knights.
What an incredible, ruthless massacre! The horde truly lived up to its name in this game.
I mean, there's a _reason_ the kingdom of Azeroth was overrun so quickly and forced to flee across The Great Sea to Lordaeron. It was only the luck of the humans that their allies proved to be stronger and more reliable than the Horde's.
so many sweet childhood memories withthis one! like visiting grandpa who had a 486, a cd and vga monitor to play this game on christmas eve...thanks stu!
Thx for bringing back memories 😊 I played this game for ages. And this was also the origin of „you have been pwned“
walling off with their own buildings :)))))) that is so mean, I never saw this before. Awesome play
Recent subscriber here! I'm glad to find your channel man! I grew up in the 90's playing warcraft and starcraft a lot! Love these types of vids!
Thank you for sharing this. Always good to see the old games at play
It's kind of outrageous that winning a 1 vs 7 only gets you the rank of Captain. If you took this performance, and repeated it exactly four more times, you'd *still* not get the max rank of Designer. I'm not sure if there's even enough resources on normal maps to farm out to that score either!
You'd either have to try and farm enemy Fortresses/Castles by butchering the CPU and then backing off so they can rebuild, or play on big naval maps and sink tons of Battleships/Juggernauts for their juicy points.
Yeah it's pretty ridiculous! You could probably do it if you edited the map to max out all of the gold mines. Maybe the system was designed more for the campaign where I believe the score is cumulative. I think I got to Overlord in the Orc BTDP campaign.
The ranking carried on through the campaign did it not? I think that was the only way to get up there.
Edit. Should have read your response lol
Amazing! It's always great to watch a master of their (war)craft work their magic. Very well done!
I like the small commentaries on your play, and why you do this and that. Keep it up!
You can't stop him, you can only hope to contain him.
Brings back memories every move every choice saving precious seconds in the crucial first few min. Awesome
Masterful playthrough here. Well done.
I really like the high resolution of your game video. It is enjoyable watching the gameplay, very tactful play.
This was amazing brings good memories thanks for making this. Good old Warcraft 2!
Thank you for WC2 videos, brings back good old memories!
Also on our server in new Rebalance mode we maked AI fix plugin and comps become even more cursed ;)
they can powerbuild, peons less stuck, and most important ogres can now normally use runes, and DK can raise skeletons, human mages can go in inviz and blizzard into your gold mine ;)
Wow...
Even though I never have played WC2, it was pretty interesting to watch!
Really impressive!
Holy shit, amazing video! Watching it was so suspenseful, masterwork of playing!
I remember when you upgrade ships armor, the STOP button changes skin (upgrades). So I actually convinced myself that the ships stopped faster with that upgrade xD
Lol, never thought about that, but it makes sense xD
This is absolutely amazing, well done!
This was great fun to watch. I played WC2 when I was a kid, having watched my mum play the orc campaign and consistently flatten her enemies. Glad to see there are still people playing and enjoying the classics
I don't know how the algorithm knew that I just played through the campaign again but this was great to watch. That moment when you buffed a death knight and sent him in for a suicide decay run was inspired.
Your videos are therapy to me. Thanks man.
Finally, a war2 recording that doesn't look like ass!
And the challenge idea and execution are fun as well
Never played this game but glad it was recommended on my video feed, subscribed!
Exactly how I played Starcraft, you actually get alot of adrenaline playing like this, fun as hell.
This takes me down the memmory lane. I used to do this as a kid too. Thanks for bringing back the great memmories!
Unholy armor + haste on a DK was my favorite combo ^^
on our serv comps can also do this )

I dont know why this popped up on my feed, but Im glad it did. Work work work!
Блин, это чертовски впечатляет. Под ностальгическую музыку это вообще шикарная работа.
This is pure insanity and I'm here for it.
This is insane. When I was 5 I loved building towns in Warcraft II and seeing all the units, but I would always get trounced by a single opponent in a custom match. The graphics and sounds are nostalgic for me, but the tactics are unbelievable as someone who's never seen the game played well.
Great job, I bought this game shortly after it came out in the 90s. Those were great times.
Nice HD patch from Wacraft2 Combat Edition
Oh you're back playing this! I remember watching your videos on how to beat the campaigns and those were very old.
Wow, what a gauntlet! Thanks for bringing this to us in 4k, Stu!
Shame we can't see individual kill counts on units - mages at base could reach a hundred each
Epic ❤❤ WC2 was always one of my favourites
Ah, the nostalgia of the sound effects, music and characters. This is one of the good parts of my childhood I look fondly back on.
Very impressive, and on fastest setting ! Great job.
This is bringing back so many memories... I want to install it and play now.
i never thinked about i will watch trough a damn warcraft II 1v7 video.... dayum its impressive.
I never got good enough at these games to pull off 1 v 7...so, I'm always impressed to see this!
Still remember when little witch sielith did beat a 1 v 3 though!
I remember pulling this off back in the day but with no towers, it was a 3 grunt rush on low resources, I remember being able to pull it off depending on spawns... I just bought the game again, not sure if I can remember the build and order to win now... it has been 20-25 years :)
hey thank you this was an incredible watch to see.
Thank you. Very nice to watch you being in that flow and everything lining up, for someone who never played wc2 (just 1-2 games and watched 1-2 casual games, coming from wc3 and sc) Now after watching this it feels I know everything lolll.
Oh man, the feels I have hearing that song again. Seeing those buildings again I played all blizzard games religiously when I was a kid
For some reason RUclips recommended me this, IDK why but I enjoyed it. Good stuff
Among the best games of all time! Soundtracks made it extra special!
This is the best Primitive Technology video I've seen lately.
This is exactly how I remembered it (minus the proxy rush.... and the farm wall). Somehow, in 1995, I was able to store all memory I had about that game in HD.
I was today years old, when I discovered that the Pickaxe will be put back beside the cart in front of the gold mine whenever no peasant mining, or when light off.
The Eye of Kilrogg now has sound effects. Nice! I think there were some in the sound editor, but they were not enabled, originally.
Zug zug! I played this game so much when I went to bed and closed my eyes I could hear the sound of swords clanging.
Ah man this brings back memories. The white shade for units was awesome. Music. All of it.
great video as always!
Haven’t watched the video yet, the nostalgia from the thumbnail was worth a LIKE 👍
wow you are insanely good at this game :D I think i would have lost this one
Второй варик , теплые воспоминания из детства... Thanks dude ,you remind some good memories
damn man that was insane to watch! if you havent already, you should try the wargus mod on Nightmare AI
holy sh67yt
GoW brings back memories. IMO you got the best starting location. Still crazy though.
I would have gotten ran sacked on his first wave.
Flashbacks of fun, the days when Kali and ICQ reigned supreme for multiplayer action. TYVM.
The music and sound effects always make me long for this game. Spent so much time with it.
"They're destroying our city!" 😂
Вот мы и вернулись к старой классике
Indeed we do
Какая потресающая озвучка, я прям даже от зданий тащусь
holy, I can't believe someone is playing this in 2022
also DAMN do you play a good game O_O
man look at how crisp your opener is, love to see it
Ностальгия 😍 Играю до сих пор... И карт сделал очень много. Сам играю в свои же карты 🤗
я тоже играю, и стараюсь своих юнитов сохранять. В последней битве все живы и драконы даже не вылупились :)
Man, this brings me back. . .
This gave me hardcore anxiety to watch this. Well done.
This is so funny actually being able to tell what the little icons are. 😂I always thought the peons were little spiky men with heads shaped like holly leaves. xD And the Ogres, no chance.
Bloodlusted ogres are one of the most terrifying sounds you can hear in this game
My god the music is so Epic ... IT still give me the chill ..
Wow all this time I've been watching WC3, and as soon as I saw these graphics a wave of nostalgia knocked me off my chair and I just woke up a week later.
bless you for giving my warcraft 2 fix
Even tho im having a blast with Dragonflight, its allways good coming back to see this, Wacraft is a franchise that have such solid roots, fucking love it.
Wow this is so impressive, I've logged a lot of hours on Warcraft 2, I enjoy playing casually but to see what one can do going balls to the wall is crazy. Can't let my girlfriend see this video or my days of playing several hour long sessions of Warcraft will be over when she see's someone can take out 7 AI's in 20 mins
Cannot believe that people are still playing this gem!
Edit: Quite the master of key shortcuts!
