I managed to play the beta/play test on a Ryzen 5 2400G + RTX 2060 Super and 16GB ram @ 1080p with high/ultra settings getting 30-40fps. I might try overclocking my 2400G soon as that'll be bottlenecking the other parts.

i have an i7-7700K and my cpu usage is mostly 25-35% while my 3060 is cracked to 90%. i couldn't believe it because these games do depend mostly on cpu
I disagree with the CPU requirements being high. The minimum for Intel is a Skylake 2c/4t 15W TDP laptop cpu and a zen1 4c4t APU for AMD. The recommended r5 1600 is now over 4 years old and even on release was considered a more affordable CPU. I'll definitely wait for other people to play it before I buy it as I participated in the beta and I had mixed feelings honestly... although it was a very early beta so maybe they improved the bad stuff.
I don't understand why are they targeting these gpus as recommended because usually rts games are more cpu dependent rather than gpu dependent. Edit:The ideal specs are exaggeratted especially on the gpu side.
Why? Maybe it's required for 4K with everything maxed out. Seems pretty reasonable. If anything, CPU requirement looks more exaggerated, as, presumably, "recommended" requirements were for stable 60 FPS, already, and that wouldn't change with resolution. Maybe, it's hinting at 120+ FPS 4K?

Looks like "Ideal" is needed for maxed out 1440p at 60 FPS with drops whenever the camera moves, which is a shame. And consistent high refresh rate is not possible even with Zen3/10900K

The main reason I don't record in hdr is most viewers don't have an hdr screen to view it on (most monitors that claim hdr support can't really display it properly). Also I think the recording and editing process might involve different codecs and such but I havent really messed with it.

That big jump from recommended to ideal has to be 1080p to 4k. Judging by how the game looks it has to need a decent pc rig to run it. The minimum requirements are just ridiculous because who would play at 720p 30fps in 2021
Sadly, Digital Foundry already tested the technical and graphical side. Sadly even a 6 core cpu is choking at 1080p. It cant keep up with 100+ fps even at HD.
Seems good, but technically speaking looks like a 10 year ol game, i guess RTSs dont really need super cutting edge graphics but at least put more options for high end pcs, RTX or something.
Gonna be playing this on Ryzen 5 5600h CPU with RTX 3050 GPU, so i could probably pull it off with high settings, but my main concern is that i have 8 GB RAM. Not sure how much RAM the game will be using…Any one has an idea?
I'm planning on buying a new laptop just to play aoe4. That's at least $1,500 just to play Age of Empires. I think I need a more productive way to spend my time and money...
@@Lukasz3332x Age of Empires is built around a mouse and keyboard and every building and action has a key/key combo shortcut. If it came out on Series X they'd have to demand users use a mouse and keyboard because I don't see how they could build the game around a controller without dumbing down the well established game mechanics. The Series X supports M+K and I'm sure it could run the game but I don't think console manufacturers will ever release a game that isn't built with a controller in mind. Navigating a web page with a controller and playing Age of Empires with one are completely different. Having to use a thumbstick instead of a mouse to play Age of Empires would be a nightmare and you'd get steam rolled by your opponent while you're trying to click on the many different actions that Age of Empire has.
Why not just buy a PC? You know these type of games will never come to console. The best they've got to offer is Halo Wars, which is overly simplistic. It could have been way better if it were made for PC only.

They wanted to obliterate the border between consoles and PCs! Why treat costumers like amoebas? I'm aware it wont work with a controller so I will play with m&k.

Rts games mostly depend on cpu power so having a good cpu is the key for these type of games
Especially when the game is very very single threaded.

Running mine at 1440p. 3900x is at 7% while my 2080ti is at 98%
The CPU does matter more, but I wouldn't completely cheap out on the GPU either, otherwise the game looks like shit.
Wololol love me some age! I played this game as a kid and still play it today! I've already played some of it in an earlier build and it's pretty fun!

I liked Starcraft as a kid but sucked at it still enjoyed the story though. Was more of a Diablo kid in the Blizzard realm anyway.
