If I remember correctly amd's non-x3d CPUs underperformed a bit relative to Intel in the last spiderman, and it scales really well with faster memory. Could be something like that here.
You should know why AMD beat Intel, old games use up to 8 cores, 7800X3D is faster at ''single core'' performance wich mean 1 core vs 1 core or 8 cores vs 8 cores the AMD will win, but AMD 8 Cores vs 12 up to 20 Cores Intel, then the Intel will win if the game use that huge amount of cores, so if the game use only up to 8 or 10 cores 7800X3D will outperform it, but once it use more core count the 12900K will comeback and outperform 7800X3D due to the huge amount of core and thread count the i9 has, thats why in intensive mult core benchmarks for productivity the equal Intel usually outperform AMD.
140GB is a waste of drive space if you install it on a Steam Deck and play at lowest setting. Maybe game devs should consider ultra texture pack as an optional download so we can save some drive space and load time.
I'm going to give you insight since I have uncharted on pc, most of that is probably language packs. If you delete most but your native language in uncharted I believe you save something like 20gb ish.
@@bluej511 Then we only need to find out where the 4K texture packs are, so we can delete those and gain some 30gb extra that 90% of us will never use... they used to be a separate optional download, but lazy devs now make us download ALL the texture packs no matter what.
0:45 EXACTLY!! Alot of persons are so quick scream unoptimized the moment they see big flagship GPUs in the spec requirements. But if you look properly you can clearly see the game will be scaling from a friggin 1650 all the way up to a 4090. Thats actually impressive imo. Just take some time to dial in your settings to the visual quality to performance you want. Surprisingly alot of PC gamers dont even bother to tune their graphics settings. Also alot of them genuinely expect their actually old GPUs to run newer games at high graphic settings on high fps. Thats just RIDICULOUS. Thats exactly what Cyberpunk 2077 is doing. The game came out 4 hears ago and is now on its 5th year (crazy i know) yet it can still kneecap an RTX 5090 when absolutely CRANKED. Because CDPR took the time to give the players a ton of graphical options to run on modest hardware all the way up to knee capping 5090s. This also gives the game a longer life span because when new GPU series releases, people will wonder how this games that's notorious for flagship GPUs cry will now run on this generation. The game is 4 years old and is still one of the best looking games. Some companies just like 'future proofing' their games. Imagine a single player game is still being talked about 4 years later. @@sasquatchcrew With Witcher 2 and 3 you might have a point. But I never had a problem with Cyberpunk, even on launch it ran pretty well on my PC. My guess with the RT settings is high = reflections only, very high = reflections and ambient occlusion, ultimate = reflections, ambient occlusion, and shadows, since nixxes did confirm those RT settings will be available for PC
I sure hope they can be adjusted individually. The raster versions of ambient occlusion usually look perfectly fine. It's reflections and shadows that make a difference.
@@andersjjensen they will all be individual toggles, reflections is the biggest changer in visuals, I remember miles morales had RT shadows but they were really expensive for honestly barely any visual bump, Spider-Man 2 further makes the raster lighting and shadows better so I doubt anybody will use RT AO or Shadows.

Why would a game require 140 Gb of storage? That is insane! Soon one will require a 1tb ssd for 2-3 games installed. It is time for developers to make it optional to download 4k and 8k textures for those who want it. For others, let them have 1080 or 2k textures, hence reducing the size.
There's also a certain Artist's bias where they don't want their game to look bad or butchered because of the lower resolution of textures especially in such a big and fast moving open world where bad textures can be rather distracting. Also, they might not even think about lower res textures because it conflicts with something else like lighting
People said the same thing about black ops 3 in 2015 (112 GB). And yet here we are in 2025, where statistically speaking the super majority of games are still below 100 GB.
Guys, I have an RX 7600 and I play games with Pathtracing enabled. Yes you can enjpy Pathtracing without ray reconstruction, and yes it works well with 8GBs of video memory. All you need to do is to render the game at 540p or lower through the use of FSR. It doesn't look bad at all and enables entry level cards to do raytracing. Now, this game doesn't have any sort of heavy raytracing, so you can probably render the game at 540p with frame gen enabled to be able to average 50 fps with everything maxed out. Upscaling is amazing!
@@HIIMUsc I have 8 SATA ports too. Who doesn't have SATA? I have about 50TB here. I store installs and swap them to M2 if I want to use them. Don't need 50TB but storage surely isn't a problem with 8 and 12 TB drives now.
@ valid point, me personally i liked the simplicity of only using m.2 drives, no cables to manage, nothing in your case which takes up extra space, and the m.2s are usually faster, but more expensive 😄
I think it should challenge the current top end GPU at a ceiling of 30FPS. So push the limits right up until it causes the game to run at 30 consistent FPS at max settings highest resolution (story driven games).
Considering this game wasn’t released on PS4 it makes sense that it is more demanding than the 1st one and Miles Morales ! Scalability is great but I have hard time considering 720p/30 an acceptable experience, especially in an extremely fast paced game like this. I wouldn’t recommend buying the game to play with this kind of performance and visuals ! Games are expensive and you would be better of saving to buy better parts and play the game later in way better conditions !
Scalability beyond normal current gen hardware is great, nothing like coming back to a game 5-6 years in the future with better hardware and being able to get even more performance out of a game
1:10 the problem is that AAA modern games are usually ONLY optimized for the *barely 60 FPS on a 4090* experience, and then frame generation/upscaling is what the rest of humanity have to use to even get close to 60 FPS
And if going by how Nixxies usually do their specs, theirs usually is based without any upscalers in mind. So if it is the same here, the fact that you could maybe run the game on high settings with RT on without any upscaling on a 4070 or 7900 xt is a great sign. Sure high settings requiring a RX 6800 could raise some eyebrows given that the PS5 is sort of based on the 6700. But given it is still custom hardware and console optimization works a bit different then on PC, especially for first party games, even that I'm not that bothered by.
wish we could have modular downloads for games based on the resolution we cap our games at. removing all the 4k assets for those who play at 1440p would help reduce the download size.
@@UrExtremeGamer haha, yes it was. And back then? it looked amazing. It was a bigger jump from 360p or 480i via Composite (REd,white, yellow) to 720p via component (green, blue, red) then 1080p to 4k honestly. we were mostly playing on bulb screen tvs that looked terrible. Suddenly, we had a console that could do 720p (xbox 360) and with the right tv or monitor it looks amazing. Xbox 360 was the first time we had a console that actively and often could do a game at 720p, or upscale a game to that resolution. And it was the first time console players could afford a system which was that powerful. In fact, the xbox 360 was stronger than gaming PCS at that time, mostly. A funny contrast when compared to today haha. Funny how that works.
@UrExtremeGamer haha yes it does now, however!!!!! With DLSS upscaling alot of people are playing at 720p, and don't even know it!! DLSS upscaler will upscale 720p to 1080p and it looks pretty good. So 720p isn't COMPLETE dead, including handheld use it allot ❤️❤️ Hahaha.
Looks good to me. I would have liked them to specify if they are using upscaling and frame generation. But at some point you can just ask them to list all settings, so I get that they have to stop at some point. But upscaling does effect performance quite a bit so it would be nice to know.
I would argue that maxing out absurdly powerful cards to not do that much visually is not optimized and if they did better there it would result in lower resource usage and retaining the same fidelity or improving fidelity and still maxing out the card. Either way, it would also look or perform better on lower tier hardware as a result.
remember that the gtx 970 came out ~11 years ago. while a gtx 1650 isn't asking for much, at 720p and 30 fps it isn't offering much either. people will still whine no doubt, i mean that's easier then saving up for a gpu that is capable of more modern performance. like if you haven't been able to afford a better upgrade by now, you will certainly not be upgrading in the coming decade with what's coming. if you think prices are bad, just you wait.
@gorillagroddgaming Never rely on that unless you really need performance. The difference between performance and ultra performance is honestly probably the biggest downgrade in quality between all the upscaling presets, but the fps goes up the most, so.
No they thought they were cool by being upfront how dogsht unoptimised there game is without upscaling by saying listen it's a $1k 4080 for 1440p 60 fps take it or leave it. I mean we don't want to see game req where they are using upscaling or frame gen to reach 60 fps for sure but if your performance is this insulting to gamers maybe you should just make it a req anyway. Not like any of these dog studios will ever spend a single day or penny optimising the games performance before release these days anyway
I like these hardware requirements, personally I think that these are quite reasonable for minimum and recommended. 3070 for 1440p is great, and a 3060 for 1080p is also not bad, since it's a AAA game. Compared to what we've got recently with Indiana Jones, etc, this looks like it's decently optimized.
i don't think there is path tracing, it doesn't look like it from the screenshots and trailers. the biggest heavy lifting in path tracing comes from global/sky illumination which also includes soft sky shadows, the stuff you see a lot in those cyberpunk2077 dream ultrarealistic mods with overcast weather
Do you think that AMD will add RT accelerators to their gaming CPUs? Is that even possible? I know that RT is pretty heavy on the CPU as well which is why I'm wondering this. It'll also allow them to take a bit of load off their GPUs since they are behind Nvidia.
Noob question: If the very minimum is a 1650, shouldn't the medium performance be aimed at a 2060 or similar? I think it is quite a large jump to the 3060 for medium, even if its double the FPS.
People are spoiled, since the Tesla architechture (and the Core 2 Quads), hardware were able to play games for many, many years. You bought some mid range card, and were able to play on high settings, in 1080p, for years. They expect the same, they want to see RX6700 able to play everything on high settings :D But the technology started to evolve again, after 15years of stagnation. The fact that a first gen i5 can still play new games (not everything, and on kinda low FPS) is a joke. Imagine Underground 2 being played on a 486, without 3D accelerator. People have absolutely no idea how gaming used to be, and how good gaming is since quad cores and Tesla.
I wonder if these FPS performance measurements are not including dlss and/or frame gen. Because if so that would be great cuz that would mean you could get much greater FPS by simply using dlss and or frame gen, if not, then this is really bad news because this means that not only is this the best case scenario already but it means that by default you would have to use dlss performance mode along with frame Jen just to get the Bare Bones basic FPS that you should already have.
I don’t know if im lucked out by the grace of god but my rtx 2060 and r5 5600 OC and 32 gb ram is running this game flawlessly with dlss and frame gen with high and medium settings 60-70 fps no frame dips until the in game cutscenes with very high TQ and 8x TF
ghost of tsushima on pc was also from nixxes, and it was sooooo good for me. i played on 4k with a xtx and fsr was perfekt! I imagine dlss was also perfect. Nixxes is doing a good job!
Taking the huge performance hit for ray tracing in a game like this just for shadows and occlusion is truly the dumbest thing I've ever seen. When playing the game (not looking at stills/side by sides) you 100% will not even notice the difference, but you will feel the frame rate hit.
Happy gamers on pc will get to play this game! It’s really good. Not earth shattering, but just good fun. Also, do yourself a favor and play this on a good OLED😁
I have a 3060 12GB paired with a 5600X so I should be okay for 1080p. I'd be very interested in seeing a direct match of the PS5 performance mode graphics settings and trying them on my PC to see if I get the same performance or not.
You usually don't need a guide to optimize the settings. Just run 1440p DLSS Quality/Balanced and high settings with ultra textures and ultra texture filtering (you have the VRAM). Or 1080p if you still didn't upgrade. Next step is DLSS Performance, then medium and finally low, but it will look bad.
kinda wild that the ps5 gpu effectively a 6700 non xt is way below anything they would suggest for ray tracing. even though they said every mode used it.
This game was a PS5 only game. Maybe you wanted to say that that game was based on a PS4 game, but that is not really true either since you can fly in this one, and while flying the game world moves past you much faster.
To be fair Spider man 2 is a Sony game so it had to run at 60 fps high settings on a graphics card that's between a 6700 and a 6700XT that might be why the requirements are reasonable. It might not look as good as your Allan wake and Hellblade 2's.
@@StaceyJensenn Just looked this up and it confirmed my suspicions. Interesting how the maxed out setting at 4K require the 4090 and 12900k, but the 4070 is just high with raytracing high. I have a 4090 laptop, which is a little better than the 4070, but it's also similar at 1440p to how a 4090 performs at 4K. I imagine this game is quite a bit heavy on the CPU than we think.
@chriswheeler5808 the heating on mine isn't that bad. The issue is more on the cpu. If I keep the tdp at 65watts, it never goes above 90C, but then a cpu intensive game would be an issue like, for example, Dragon's Dogma 2.

There’s nothing crazy about it. Graphically, this game isn’t much different from Spider-Man Remastered, so it makes perfect sense for it to run on just 4GB of VRAM.
lol funny thing is this console game won't run on a ps4 pro which is supposed to be significantly more powerful than a 1650 lol. Consoles truly are pathetic.
It's not to do with the consoles, it is to do with keeping games exclusivw to the ps5.

7800X3D and 12900K seem to be drastically different performers. Wonder why they have them listed as equivalent.
I would assume that the game is not cache hungry.
If I remember correctly amd's non-x3d CPUs underperformed a bit relative to Intel in the last spiderman, and it scales really well with faster memory. Could be something like that here.
@@danielowentech I think you meant Intel

@@bluej511 That's pretty big brain

My guess with the RT settings is high = reflections only, very high = reflections and ambient occlusion, ultimate = reflections, ambient occlusion, and shadows, since nixxes did confirm those RT settings will be available for PC

Nice to see that they designed the game to be playable on something like the steam deck, to an absolute beast of a 9800x3d with a 5090....

Most RUclips videos nowadays are overproduced. You manage to achieve the same thing with so little effort. You're an efficiency monster and I love it.
Can you do benchmark videos for Spider Man 2?
Scalability beyond normal current gen hardware is great, nothing like coming back to a game 5-6 years in the future with better hardware and being able to get even more performance out of a game
I wish more people can understand this.
As always great content
Great optimization
Acceptable specs across different hardware
Unlike others like Monster Hunter Wilds and such
Indiana Jones joke 🤡.
Still no preorder button on steam and it releases in 4 hours...
I love the fact they have a "720p" section. XD
Blast from the past. AH, when 720p was the 4k of today.
I really appreciate the 720p section. 720p was really the 4k back then?😅
@@UrExtremeGamer haha, yes it was.
I would have liked them to specify if they are using upscaling and frame generation. But at some point you can just ask them to list all settings, so I get that they have to stop at some point. But upscaling does effect performance quite a bit so it would be nice to know.
In this list there is no FG or upscaling involved
@@blastmox Where do you see that?
I can only find that DLSS, FSR and XeSS is supported.
@ Nixxies usually gives the raw specs without upscaling and if upscaling is involved then they mention it in the requirements list
I would argue that maxing out absurdly powerful cards to not do that much visually is not optimized and if they did better there it would result in lower resource usage and retaining the same fidelity or improving fidelity and still maxing out the card. Either way, it would also look or perform better on lower tier hardware as a result.

Using DLSS or no DLSS for 60fps?
Using DLSS ultra performance
@gorillagroddgaming not true at all, this is a lie
Not like any of these dog studios will ever spend a single day or penny optimising the games performance before release these days anyway
i am glad that i seem able to run the game at medium.

Really wanna see things like 1440p 60fps, 1440p 120fps, 1440p 180fps, etc. Almost no one still has a 60hz monitor
I look seeing them actually think about what a lower end components can actually run the game at and telling us
i don't think there is path tracing, it doesn't look like it from the screenshots and trailers. the biggest heavy lifting in path tracing comes from global/sky illumination which also includes soft sky shadows, the stuff you see a lot in those cyberpunk2077 dream ultrarealistic mods with overcast weather
Do you think that AMD will add RT accelerators to their gaming CPUs? Is that even possible?
I know that RT is pretty heavy on the CPU as well which is why I'm wondering this. It'll also allow them to take a bit of load off their GPUs since they are behind Nvidia.

Taking the huge performance hit for ray tracing in a game like this just for shadows and occlusion is truly the dumbest thing I've ever seen. When playing the game (not looking at stills/side by sides) you 100% will not even notice the difference, but you will feel the frame rate hit.
