I'm a work in progress lol. One thing I can't part with is books. I can down size but I still have too many to fit on the shelves and I struggle to not buy them due to my OCD symptoms. But minimalism is so attractive to me. Can you do a video on how to avoid acquiring things? what are your ways of challenging the 'I have to have it' thoughts.
All I want is freedom in life no rules and fulfillment and joy. I keep telling myself replaceable things don't bring joy ! You have to find it within yourself to be happy 😊
You are a ray of sunshine!!! I live in a small appartment, with my husband and my 2 Kids. You really don't a lot of stuff to Be Happy. Thank you so much for your good work, the world needs more people like you. Kisses from Italy
Love this! I always hear, “I can’t be a minimalist, I like color” 😂 well, most of us do. Lol just because some of the bigger minimalist proponents prefer bare walls and only black tshirts, doesn’t mean we all do! ❤️
This video brought tears to my eyes- cause I am ready to take a step into a minimal life. I want to start living again!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
I have been following along for about two years now… maybe a little longer. You have definitely inspired and encouraged me to live more intentionally and minimally. Sometimes, it wasn’t much of a choice being that my husband and I live in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment and were both teachers at a small private school… so we definitely cannot be spending on unnecessary items we can’t afford. However, you made it feel like it’s okay to have less! Especially in this social media world where people are always sharing what they bought and where other can get it too.
less is more - less stuff makes room for more life. It’s choosing what to focus on and valuing the things that matter. Clutter and hurry choke life. I love your word “intentional”. Thanks for sharing yourself and your journey….I find it beautiful.❤️
Love how encouraging you are on this topic. That’s what people need and how they need to hear it 👍🏻 do you remember where you purchased the blanket/coverlet on the end of your bed? It looks like a very sturdy yet cozy blanket 😍
Love this video! I am so mentally burdened and want minimalism in my life- but to be honest a lot of fear creeps in… like I can’t get rid of X, because I might need it later! I know this is harmful, but your encouragement always makes me take another step towards a more intentional and minimal lifestyle 💛
I am totally with you! Living kind of minimalist life but my apartment and house both have quite a lot of things. But it is things that bring me happiness and as they are joyful I don’t see a reason to declutter/donate. It is not clutter to me! Much more valuble to live intentionally than in an spark space and not have a clue what you are doing!! ❤️❤️❤️
We retired a couple of years ago, we sold our house and moved to the country. Because of moving we emptied our home and left of all the things that weighed us down and no longer needed to clutter our new home. We visited our charity shop so many times but it certainly made us feel good! Now we live in our new home with things around us that bring so much joy and housework is now a breeze and something I enjoy, also our loft is empty and our home is filled with light.
I love hearing your heart in all your videos - you’re so genuine and gracious and kind and intentional! Thanks for showing me we can give ourselves permission to enjoy minimalism and our own rhythms & we don’t have to ascribe to the hustle consumerism culture and everything we miss out on because of it 🤍🌷
Thank you a lot for all your videos. They always inspire me and leave me feel a little bit lighter. ☺ I was wondering about one thing. You keep mentioning the words "purpose " and "intention". Could you maybe make a video about what those words mean to you exactly? Because I kind of have trouble grasping them fully. (Maybe also because English is not my first language.) Wishing you a wonderful start into cozy autmn.
I think I have a very maximalist, minimalist living space. I love memories on the wall, but I have very few possessions I feel like I need to keep. As a minimalist you can run away on an adventure any time!
As I'm autistic, I have intense specialised interests. This means that I tend to buy everything associated with it, because it brings me true, blessed joy. When I discovered minimalism it felt like being able to breathe again, but I was suddenly overwrought with guilt and stress about not being able to 'display' my interest. It means a lot to me, but it didn't fit in with the 'minimalist aesthetic'. Fast forwards about two months and I'm still a minimalist, but I have my satin Chinese coats hanging on a hook next to a bright raspberry duffle coat, my Witcher Funko Pops wobbling away on my shelf next to a Thor figurine, my massive Peter Rabbit stuffed bear on my lemon and peach bedspread. Took me some time to realise that minimalism is meant to lessen the burden on your spirit, not suck it entirely from your chest and leave you as empty as some of the minimalist rooms you only ever see when you type 'minimalism' into the search bar (also valid, but still) . You get rid of things that don't bring you happiness. The things that do, stay. That's why I believe in the possibility of a maximalist minimalist, because some people find that everything brings them joy!
Honest question here. How do I simplify my schedule. I have therapy, my son has speech therapy, we have church two days a week, and I see a chiropractor appointment every week. I feel like I run way too much but can’t see a place to limit things
Maybe try to schedule multiple things on one day so you can have intentional days of rest on the days where you have freed up time. Schedule therapy and the chiropractor on the same day. Then you only have your church days. That's 3 out of 4 days when you are committed to being out and about. Also if you are able to pick up groceries on one of those 3 busy days then you still have 4 home days.
