I literally got up from bed watching this video to do this challenge. I love that you were so matter-of-fact and trying to find those little things to remove!! So awesome!!
Another use for old dish cloths and towels etc is to donate to an animal shelter or clinic/hospital. They use the towels in the kennels and go through them a lot for cleaning up after the animals. I've been doing it for years!
We have a clothes basket for each of our kids that lives at the end of their beds (Ages 5-10) and they can take their baskets and wash and dry their own clothes. It saves time sorting clothes and it's a good way to encourage our kids to be independent. We also have a towel basket in the bathroom and a basket in our room to share. It may add money for extra laundry tablets and water use but the system works so much better for us.
This is great well done Margaret. I’m struggling so much atm because where I live no donation places are actually taking anything 😩 it’s such a nightmare.
I have taken extra pens and supplies to my office😅 but I love this! This would honestly a productive fun little activity to do on the weekend☺️ I love decluttering so for me it’s def a fun activity. Also! One of my favorite memories was gathering two boxes worth of books I had and donating them to my local library. The librarians were so happy for the donation💕
I also keep 2-3 old towels for when it's wet and muddy out. I can throw that down at the door for when my children come back in from playing outside to avoid getting the floor too dirty.
Just took two boxes to goodwill yesterday and a big bin full of out-grown clothes of my youngest (almost ten) to consignment. I wish I could get my husband to get rid of more stuff! Lol! He is a xbox gamer and tech person. He also still has chemistry books from college (he's a chemist). He keeps saying they may come in handy while our boys are in school.....
Fantastic! Haha, hey everyone comes around at some point(most everyone, haha). Just lead by example! Thats what I did and my hubby eventually joined along.
If you have excess pens, call your local hospital or Nursing homes’ Nursing stations and ask if they would like them. As someone who works in Healthcare - pens grow feet and walk away, we are always looking for a pen to use!
A little late but you asked if some of us have ever given pens away and I have! I asked people around me if they wanted them and my artist sister and they gladly took what they needed. I was happy, they were happy and it was a tiny little clutter free area of my life that felt much better afterwards.
If you have a free Facebook group for your community you can post there! I figure if I plan to donate I might as well give them away to someone who needs it and will use it vs sit at a donation place and possibly thrown away!
Your countertops are beautiful but I'm not sure they're actual granite you better make sure before we set something hot down on it because it looks like it might be made out of something besides granite but they're beautiful countertops you don't want to ruin them I love to watch your videos thank you
@@margaretmatheny yes it can change the color or if the counter top is cold and the pan is hot then it could potentially crack either the counter top or your pan.
I like I should make a video decluttering 20 items every day,!!! soooo much stuff that needs to go. Just been throwing stuff in the trash everyday since I started watching your channel
This 20 item challenge really makes it less overwhelming to start! Thank you!

Started watching some of your older videos and I like this one in particular. How fun of an idea! I did the declutter with you.

Every time you mention your everything journal, it makes me CRAVE a flip through!
I appreciate hearing your thought process!
In the last week I’ve taken two trunk loads to the thrift store. Feels so good to declutter!
Amazing!!! It feels so good!
I am going to do this tonight! Thanks for the inspiration and for showing how simple it can be to declutter.

Yay a challenge!!! Been waiting for one of these ! Going to do one tomm!!
Your hair looked short tucked into your sweatshirt and it was so cute!!
Thought the same! Collarbone-length suits you, Margaret! 💁🏽♀️
Yeah and she could still do a mini ponytail with that length. Having her hair up is also so pretty on her.
I love it long ☀️
Working on 20 items in 10 minutes! Thanks for the inspiration! I must admit that I made a bigger mess trying to declutter😱
Awesome! And ha, gosh I do that almost every time. I get too ambitious, haha.
Yay! LOVE your decluttering vids.
I just love your channel! Love listening to your kids! ❤️
Perfect timing as I prep for tomorrows garage sale!
I like so much your style 🙏💖💖💖 Thank you a lot for this motivation 🌺🌺🌺

20 items out of my closet today lol thank you
Would it be a good idea to save the towel with blue spots as part of your emergency sick kit?
oh yes, or even just my emergency box if we have freezes or power outages! Great call.

Diluted washing up liquid can replace the bubble solution.
If it is tomato stains on your wash cloths just keep them in the sun for a couple of hours and they will be just as new🥰
Omg thank you!!! Didn't know!

Dye the dish clothes
Don't put hot pans on your granite!!! That will ruin it!!!!
